In this episode of the Anchor Up & Chill Podcast, I sit down with someone who I consider family, Erica Nelson, fellow Brown Folks Fishing ambassador, fly fishing guide, and host of the "Awkward Angler" podcast. Not only is she smart, funny, friendly, blunt, and thirsty for manhattans, she loves the outdoors and challenging herself with all things scary. Never one to back away from something that makes her feel AWKWARD! We share our love for Taco Bell, how she started REAL Consulting, her journey into learning and teaching fly fishing, and laugh...a lot. Did I mention she is smart? Oh...and single but you need to be over 55 and NOT like fly fishing. Check out the Awkward Angler Podcast here: https://www.awkwardangler.com/ Give her a follow on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/awkwardangler/ Here is her business website, SHE IS SMART!!!: https://www.consultreal.org/
Episode 12! I break down what it was like to guide on the Trinity River for the 22/23 steelhead season, prepare you for my stint in Alaska and talk about bullshit. Yep! Love these boys! The So Fly Crew was gracious and radical enough to join me for a podcast session to talk about none other than, THEM! Yes, I met Mitch and Aldo in Montana during the Redington Rodeo and really didn't know much about So Fly at that time. After meeting them and bonding with laughs, booze, and a lot of fishing, I fell in love. So that in turn, that makes me in love with Yilma and anyone else who rides with these foos.  The So Fly Crew is a content creation group that loves sharing peoples stories on their podcast and YouTube channel along with sharing their stories from their fly fishing trips, and generating community around fly fishing.  In this episode we learn about why they So Fly crew does what they do, how it started, and other inspirational stories about their journey. Sit back, crack a La Croix and enjoy as I learn more about my Canadian vatos and talk about how much we have in common.  FLY FISHING IS SICK! It's been a wild return to guide life in Northern California. Who said guide life was easy... In this episode I provide some updates on what's going yon with Taco Fly Co., Trinity River Reports, news about the new boat and why I got a raft. It's because I SUNK MY BOAT! Well not really but it's been long overdue to get a raft for the Trinity River. The Clacka was almost fully submerged and we somehow saved her...holy shit that was gnarly.  NO I DID NOT FLIP MY BOAT NO I DID NOT SINK MY NEW RAFT IN THE CANYON And yes, we are okay.  MAD LOVE AND THANK YOU FOR LISTENING!!!!  Thank you Brown Folks Fishing, Redington, Red Truck Fly Rods, Megan, my perro Charlie, all of the Taco Familia and anyone who listens to this podcast.  HUG YOUR HOMIES! #flyfishingsaveslives

Our first guest on the Anchor Up and Chill podcast is Eeland Stribling. A wildlife biologist, fly fisherman, and amazing comedian out of Colorado. Even though Eeland and I are Brown Folks Fishing familia, we've never met face to face. So this episode is about getting to know Eeland a bit more and to learn about his approach to life, fly fishing, and comedy. We're vulgar. This a vulgar show. Can we get cancelled? Maybe? We talk about fly fishing for a little bit...and tacos...and laugh a bunch. NOTE: There might be some triggering dialogue for those who don't like it when brown people talk about being brown. Yep, we're brown. And down.  The short video "All Jokes Aside" mentioned in the podcast can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jiV-DPrbyI&ab_channel=Redingtongear Eeland's Instagram life can he seen here: https://www.instagram.com/blacksteveirwin/?hl=en
After a full day of snowboarding, and after drinking some mescal, your host, Mario Guel, introduces you to the “Anchor Up and Chill” podcast. Hold on to your fragility because this one might sting! Limes are great, and mama nature is beautiful. Aliens are real too. Life is weird and so is this show. Fly fishing and tacos? Yep. Enjoy!
