Description

A personal diary of how I use food (and herbal supplements) for physical (and even emotional) healing; when traditional medicine doesn't work. Sometimes, the "Food for Therapy" won't be food at all; sometimes it will be "food for thought". Either way, my goal is to heal. I hope you enjoy! ~ Bon Appetit!!!

Sodium is So D-umb!

Sodium is So D-umb!

2021-05-0317:56

I never know a low sodium diet could go TOO low; to the point of potential danger. I was trying to prevent a relatively non-existent issue from existing, but that wasn't my best decision. Someone else's fear of high blood pressure and resentment for getting it, so young, was rubbed off on me. It was like a spell that had to be broken. I was making dangerous choices, because of it, and didn't even know it. That's why I'm learning not to let the misery of others, drive my actions; it's literally not healthy! Thanks for listening and I wish you all health and wellness!!! ❀😘
I love taking supplements in search of making my body healthier, but as "they" say, "Too much of a good thing can be bad". I learned that the hard way with Turmeric. I am grateful the results were not dangerous or lethal, but I definitely learned a lesson; taking heed to caution is always wise. I am grateful to God for guiding me through this process, even when I make mistakes a d missteps like this. I am going to take this lesson on throughout this health and wellness journey and even on into other areas if my life. Thank you all for listening! I wish you health and wellness! ❀πŸ₯°
During my depression, I tried to avoid drinking wine because I didn't want to fall into substances as a coping tool. However, I learned resveratrol, an antioxidant from wine (or grapes, rather), can be helpful for so many different body parts; the lungs, heart, brain and even kidneys (according to studies on the Pub Med's GOV website). I have been using it for a few weeks now and I truly feel the difference (in my lungs and kidneys, especially). The best part about it, I don't need to drink wine to get the awesome effects (so sobriety is no issue here!). Thank you all for listening! I wish you health and wellness! ❀😘
Trying to balance hydration can be hard. There are so many liquids that we ingest in a daily, weekly or even monthly basis; from water, juice and the like, to different kinds of alcohol. I notice that I don't realize when I'm dehydrated until certain physical symptoms become present. I am on a journey now to achieve health and wellness in a more balanced way and sometimes that starts with water (i.e. hydration). I hope you all enjoy this episode. Thank you all for listening. I wish you health and wellness! ❀😘
I'm So Over Hydrating

I'm So Over Hydrating

2021-03-3023:01

I'm sure you've heard of stress drinking with alcohol, but what about with water. When I'm stressed, my heart rate gets high and my need for water increases; or at least it feels like it does. But the dry mouth and thirsty feeling were not always indicative of a need for water, but rather symptoms that I was stressed or anxious and that's what I needed to get under control. In this episode I take you through my journey and my experiences with Water Poisoning; yes I said poisoning. It is real and crazy. I hope you enjoy. I thank you all for listening! I wish you health and wellness! ❀😘
The COVID-19 Pandemic was scary for all of us. For me, it caused my Hypochondriacal tendencies to go into overdrive. I already had pulmonary (lung) issues (including Bronchitis), before this. Seeing as how these [Bronchitis] symptoms can be eerily similar to COVID, I went straight into panic mode. Thank GOD I had Jesus, my sister and the CDC government website to set me straight and calm my fears. I'm now treating my bronchitis and doing better each day! Thank you all for listening. I wish you health and wellness! ❀😘
You Can't Beat a Beet!

You Can't Beat a Beet!

2021-03-2617:30

I am anemic, so learning how to eat for my blood (and my heart) has been an interesting journey. I found the newly acclaimed superfood (but old to me), Beets. It has been immensely helpful to me, in more ways than I could imagine. Just listen and you see [hear]! Anyway, thank you all for listening and I wish you Health and Wellness. ❀😘
I love cinnamon flavored everything. I recently started adding it to my cereals and teas. But I learned that I was using the wrong cinnamon, but looking for all the positive health benefits. In doing research I discovered, in supplement form, Ceylon is the "true" cinnamon and Cassia is for seasoning. Anyway, I am grateful I discovered the "truth" so I can now incorporate the RIGHT cinnamon into my health and wellness journey. Thank you all for listening. I wish you health and wellness! ❀😘
I have been working on clearing out and strengthening my lungs for a few years, now. Never had respiratory issues as a child, but as an adult, I've been going through it. Mullein has been the first supplement that I've taken that has shown such a positive result and actual effectiveness. It comes with some discomfort, but I'm toughing it out with my humidifier, some tea tree and eucalyptus oils (and with medical clearance). I can't wait for the end result (stay tuned for it!). Anyway, thank you all for listening. I wish you health and wellness! ❀😘
I've been using Aloe Vera, in juice and water form, for years. I recently discovered the gel in pill form (for digestion). It has been a game changer. I learned to steer clear of the Aloe vera supplements with Aloin in them, though. Any way, Aloe Vera is clearly a superfood and I'm learning just how much, more and more, each day! I hope you enjoy this episode! I wish you health & wellness! Thank you for listening! ❀😘
I don't know why pineapples are not on the list of Superfoods; right up there with Avocados and Quinoa. [Almost] Every time I'm looking for a natural way to deal with an ailment or issues, in some form, Pineapples pop up as a choice remedy! Learn more about how, in this episode (and also find out what my Bro(melain) joke really means! I wish you health and wellness! Thanks for listening! Enjoy ❀😘
I have struggled with Anemia all my life. I hate the iron tablets with orange juice combination. And, while I appreciate the effectiveness of the iron Infusions, I have been looking for an easier way to maintain healthy iron (and hemoglobin) levels. Something in my spirit led me to baby food items (I never knew of it or thought about it before). I found a few of the baby food selections had an incredible iron level & I have been hooked ever since. With my doctor's consent, I incorporated these items in my diet & it's been, so far, so good! Anyway, I hope you enjoy this episode. Thank you for listening & I wish you health & wellness! ❀😘
According to the National Library of Medicine (Pubmed.gov), Takotsubo (broken heart syndrome) is a reversible heart condition, stemming from grief and/stress. In a September 2019, Psychology Today article on Broken hearted syndrome, entitled "When Grief Gets Physical" by Marilyn Mendoza, I learned how grief can also effect other parts of the body (lungs, immunity, etc.) While I was going through the grief of losing my dad, I learned that I could eat a heart [and lung] healthy diet to help ease and mitigate most of my symptoms caused by my broken heart. Take a listen as I bring you through my journey of how I used HEALTHY foods as "grief therapy". Enjoy & thank you for listening ❀😘
L-Theanine, like CBD, is a supplement I have been using to combat stress and anxiety. I came across us through a mental health therapist and I am in love. Dare I say, "move over, CBD"? Hmmm... maybe not just yet... but it's a close second to my beloved CBD. Thanks for listening.
