England,  battered in the first 3 and bruised all over in the duration of this New Year's test, they come out on the other side, exhibiting courage and character to complete a fantastic draw in Sydney. Usman Khawaja walks into the squad at number 5 after two years away from the test team. His opportunity comes after Travis Head is out ill and what a statement he made! Twin tons and the 6th Australian to do it. But that wasn't enough to take Australia through as weather also conspried against them.  Bairstow also made a statement of his own with a fighting 100 and a great partnership with Stokes also coming into form. On the 5th day, the game was set up beautifully with Australia needing a wicket to keep the whitewash hopes alive . But No! England's saviour James Anderson blocks it out.
