On Today’s episode of Skin Deep , I sit with Consultant Gastroenterologist Dr Ann-Marie Eustace Ryan .  My aim was to raise awareness for Colorectal Cancer, given the massive spike in numbers in both men and women aged 25-50, but what I got was my mind blown. I always felt I had a deep understanding about the gut and microbiome but what I had not realized is that its so much simpler than that. It literally boils down to what food choices you make and what biome you choose to feed .  Small disciplines repeated with consistency every day lead to great achievements gained slowly over time. Today I am joined by Skin cancer advocate Mags Murphy. After spending many years in Greece , and not always adhering to responsible  sun protection , Mags succumbed to Actinaic Keratosis , a form of skin lesion that’s are considered potentially cancerous. Following invasive topical chemo treatment , Mags , showing great will and courage  documented her treatment on various social media platforms. Educating and creating awareness for thousands pf people and saving lives as she did. I have dedicate my 20+ year career to skin heath, visiting schools and educating as many as I can on skin cancer awareness . What has taken me decades, Mags has eclipsed in weeks. Today's guest may be my youngest yet, however in her 14 years on earth, she has experienced the most harrowing times. Her mum passed away when she was 12 weeks old from an asthma attack, then 9 years later her Dads life was violently ended at the hands of her step mother. Through all her pain , a remarkable young woman has emerged, she is an incredibly talented singer, author and has hopes and dreams of a career in the Arts. In my  conversation with Sarah Corbett Lynch , she shares with us her own interpretation of grief and how she copes when it consumes her.
