For the 2nd episode of 2022, Roley talks about being pretty much out of F's. He's been recently united with the one thing that keeps him from chaos. Podcasts have been boring lately. Welcome to 2022, y'all. This year, the Roley Podcast will be dedicated to being a podcast version of what I write for Medium. I've decided to focus on writing this year, and I'm writing an article a day. So, this will be a weekly recap of those articles. This podcast covers January 1st through the 7th:Welcome to my 2022 ChallengeHow I'm Focusing My Efforts This YearIt's Winter. I'm DiscontentedWhen I Said NoI Won't Be A NicheRemembering January 6thMilking A Dry CowSince I'm focusing my attention to writing on Medium, the best way to support my work is by subscribing to my Medium content (which is free), or by becoming a Medium Member (which is five dollars a month, which Medium splits with me for the life of your membership.).
Last season was about me exorcising some personal demons. Now we get back to something raw for a while. Some of you will not like this, and that's OK. Welcome back to the show.
The story behind This Pirate. The origin of the character. What has happened in the last 12 weeksWhere we go from here.
The simple fact of the matter is we're all pirates deep down
From a very early age, we are gently coaxed into being part of a system, and it's a system of success based on criteria written in a time long gone and irrelevant to the world we live in today.
This pirate would like to talk to you for a moment about mental health. I've been noticing a lot of people reclaiming parts of their lives in the preservation of their mental health, and I'd like to tell you...I think that's fantastic.
This pirate thinks there are two kinds of people in this world. I've done extensive research on this.
Our reality is what we construct it to be. We build it. Whether it's concrete and steel, or salt and spray and wood and sails
Content is king, but it's the kind that wants to burn us all, and this pirate would love to know if there's a Kingslayer handy.
It's a tricky business, cutting people, but sometimes it has to be done.
This pirate is a midday pirate who's good after breakfast and wanes after dinner, and this pirate is here to tell you that this is a perfectly acceptable way to live your life.
Straight ahead is where the work is. Up and Down are only distractions.
Let me dissuade you of the idea that I didn't get anything out of the experience. I most certainly did. It kind of reminded me of being a cabin boy aboard a ship.
When you get right down to the bone, it's just a question of motivation, isn't it?
Let this be the beginning of a new set of Articles of Agreement. The drawing up of a unique code on how this ship--my ship--is to be run.
Lies about lemons and other assorted flavors.

AI and my external hard drive full of photosAgainst my better judgment, I've opened comments on the site. Hero Syndrome: I still think that 2.0 will be similar to 1.0 when it comes to astonishing incompetence. Don’t be surprised if they tank everything trying to solve a problem they created. I just wish they could do that without getting people killed. Why even have confirmation hearings if they're just going to perjure themselves with no consequence? End the hearing if you catch them in a lie. End the hearing if they dodge questions, or don't answer. End the hearing the first time someone doesn't answer a yes or no question with a yes or no. Just adjourn, clear the room, and let the nominee sit there. As always, this will not happen. Ever. Wouldn't it be awesome, though? Do we point and laugh at the clown show? Samsung announced they are working on a non-invasive blood sugar monitor for a wearable. Jim Acosta, Journ-A Lister? I hope not. “I did that” stickers—Biden’s on gas pumps, Trump’s on eggs. This is a continuation of last week's rant about Walled Gardens like Facebook and open source. H/T to heathcliffnull for explaining like I'm five. Link:Protocols, Not Platforms: A Technological Approach to Free Speech
There are no bells and whistles on this one, just straight with no chaser. A little bit of current events, a little personal, and less than a quark of f's given. I think you'll get it.
