On this episode of Ordinary Guys and their Ordinary Thoughts, I get to talk to my friend Caroline Hawkins about her growing up in Atlanata, then spend the majority of the episode discussing struggles with body image that we’ve both gone through. We then debate dogs vs cats and finish the episode with our top five favorite songs to hear at a party/function. Give it a listen, rate and review the pod, and follow the Instagram @ordinaryguyspodcast!
In this episode, Wingo and I go in depth about different approaches someone can take towards maintaining a disciplined mindset in terms of their work ethic. We talk about ways this can be possible even when there are a lot of distractions around us, for us specifically as college students especially. We also talk intentionality and how it is important with social lives as well as work and progression as a person. As it has to be with Wingo, we also talk ball and music, finishing out the episode with our top five favorite songs to watch a sunset to. Give it a listen and rate and review the pod, and follow the pod on Instagram @ordinaryguyspodcast!
Current president of Theta Delta Chi, the Rho Proteron chapter at the University of South Carolina, Ty Lewis, who also happens to be a good friend of mine, and I discussed leadership strategies, journeys loving sports and music and favorite memories from both, as well as Greek life culture and how important mental health is within that culture. With this being the first episode back in a long pause, I share anecdotes about change and different updates coming to this pod. With Cooper out due to lack of podcast motivation, I am joined by my friend, star baseball player Michael Braswell! Brazzy is a beast on the field, but a nice, caring, funny guy off of it. We discuss the transition to college ball for him, what dreams he has with his career, and some of his favorite icons around pop culture. Give us a listen!
Cooper and I catch up for the first time in a while which was great for both of us. We discuss highlights from college so far, while also talking about being involved on campus as well as high school. Episode ten was a fun one, give it a listen!
Cooper and I reconnect and give thoughts and advice to listeners on our college experiences thus far. Also share laughs on out of pocket comments. I’ve missed Cooper, I bet y’all have too. Listen to it.
Featuring our friend Max Reuter, Cooper and I discuss the electric movement, J. Cole’s new album, and the power of camaraderie. Have a listen and enjoy!
Cooper, once again back from health and safety protocols, and I reflect on our favorite moments we’ve had in the last four years, as well as some things we have to look forward to.

With Cooper out again due to health and safety protocols, we have a new guest on the pod: Daniel “Danny” Cohen. I’m pretty biased as Danny is my cousin, but I love the guy. Funny, extravagant dude. Not only does he have an accent that reflects where he’s from, New Zealand, but he also has a lot of unique experiences and perspectives to share to our audience being mostly from America. For no other reason, listen to hear his accent. Please.
Cooper, back from health and safety protocols, chalks it up with me on mental health within a school system, and how teachers can help students grow during “tough” discussions. Also, we reflect on how our ten year old selves would view how we turned out now.

With Cooper out due to health and safety protocols, I had to carry the episode on this one, and I actually let Isaac do most of the work. I’m kidding, well, partly, as shout-out to him for being incredibly candid and wise as always. Isaac and I discuss his future plans, working at camp, camp’s impact on us, and his illustrious baseball career and dealing with tough coaches in general. For those of you wondering, our very own Cooper Ferguson aka the most handsome man I know WILL be back next week, but in the mean time, enjoy the dialogue throughout this episode as much as I did, thank you Isaac!

Cooper and I get to have many conversations with our good friend who happens to also be our English teacher, Steve McGill. While Steve has had many accolades as a person throughout his writing and coaching career, the person he is is definitely number one. We go through dialogue on what made him a teacher, impactful experiences he’s gone through as a survivor of a rare blood disease, why he loves jazz music and current artists, and the ways Davidson Day has enabled him to be his best, as it has with us as well.

Adam Brazil is currently a point guard and student at Hapden-Sydney in Virginia, but at Davidson Day (where Cooper and I go), he was the the student body president, point guard for our state championship winning team, and great person most importantly. He gives us insight on what to expect/ important stuff to have at college. All of us tag into our favorite moments as Davidson Day basketball fans, and Davidson Day students. Adam tells us about how he is able to stand for something he believes in even when most others around him disagree with him. We also rank our favorite North Carolina pizza places (Cooper’s list is trash), and we rank our favorite music genres.
