Description

This podcast is basically an effort to propagate the love for science and philosophy in my country Zambia, because I feel that's one area of interest that most people down here haven't seriously taken the time to consider.

So we did this podcast episode while walking around PHI area the same places my pal and I used to frequent when doing our field evangelism as baptized Jehovah's witnesses some years back... Now going back and walking those same streets as different people who left organized religion it was quite laughable what we believed in and thought of recording our chat over our phones
This was just one of those casual cool conversation we had while walking around the places we used to frequent as Jehovah's witnesses years back, enjoy
I am a slave of information, shedding off every piece of my worth in an addiction mounted on knowledge acquisition. Every profound understanding of diverse concepts in diverse fields of study as well as just the mere absorption of the human experience, breeds an unbearable itch and a thirst for what lays ahead. Simply because grasping one concept in the firm grip of your delicate mind builds room for questions you never pondered on prior to your understanding of such a particular concept.
Muchemwa Jayden Sichone is one of the most peculiar Christian commentators I have ever spoken to. He has self developed ideas and an out of the book approach towards the Bible, God, religion and morality. in this new episode of my podcast we discuss Christianity, Atheism, The Bible, the God-question, and Philosophy. Jayden takes us through his journey in his such for God or more abstractly put, the god-concept. Enjoy.
Tee is one of the smartest girls I know and someone I always tirelessly push into podcasting, primarily because she is very articulate and has a way with words. However she is still thinking things through, but the great news is I talked her into doing this episode with me. We talk love, religion. Atheism, anxiety, fashion, and sex. All in all here’s hoping you love this episode as much as I did. It is currently my favorite episode.

There are certain people that really make an impression on your life that it becomes close to impossible to completely forget. Of course, there is the advantage of being first for most of the great experiences you shared together but there is just a special way they touch your life that no matter how much your paths drift apart, you will always look back to their memory with nothing but a heart full of gratitude. I am just sited around my little desk at work typing this down on my laptop mainly because I have been listening to Blake Shelton ‘Austin’ on repeat since I came in. And the song has brought back quite some fond memories. Back when I was a young innocent, naïve and God-fearing teenage boy, I loved country music with every piece of me and Blake Shelton was one of those personal favorites along side Willie Jones, Thomas Rhett, Dustin Lynch and many others.

Homosexuality is not only still a social ill and a religious crime in Zambia, but it is also still not legal. And whenever one broaches the topic, its pretty easy to get oneself drenched wet in all the homophobia and gay-bashing. But in this new generation of the famous Ben Lombe, everyone can slightly feel a shift in the social air, its subtle but very strong! Zambians aren’t people to engage in intellectual debate, their emotions, culture and religion top all scientific truth or factual analysis, so the best way to appeal to their misguided intuitions is comedy! Make them laugh themselves out of their own ignorance and you would have worn them over to your side of the narrative.
The power to influence is one of humanity’s greatest gifts for which man cannot trade even for his own breath! Being short-lived intelligent social animals, we owe it to ourselves to be truly grateful as well as equally fearful of the power of influence. In relation to my deep fascination for Christopher Hitchens, many would assert that his influence on me was one I should have dreaded or as a matter of fact evaded with an air of extreme caution! However, Professor Hitchens’ influence is one I will forever be dearly grateful for, due to the simple fact that with his adroit voice through his power of speech he talked me into intellectual enlightenment and with the aid of my own grit, once for all time I started to live my OWN life.
No question has ravaged society, academia, culture and the very fabric of the human story as much as the God-question. From loaded sophisticated philosophical papers, books, full hall debates, science circles, school classrooms to university dorm rooms, the question of God’s existence has been one intense topic of discussion and will for a long time remain exactly that way. After having a major fall out from my faith back in late 2019 amid the famous four-horsemen of the new atheist movement books, I too engaged the debate with a fullness and intellectual energy I have never once experienced before. Reading the new atheist books had me feeling confident and informed enough to hold a solid opinion.
It is quite hard to be lead to believe that there is a person who has never once paused for minute to wonder about the questions raised by English physicist and professor of particle physics Brain Cox; “Did our universe have a beginning? Why is there a universe like this one? If time began at the big bang, then was there a time before time? Why are there ridges, and flows and filaments and galaxies?”  The question of origins isn’t only a big and deep one, but it is also a question that has cut through all human culture, and this is evident through the simple fact that every human culture has some sort of creation story or plain mystical beginnings of the study of cosmology. And in Episode 1, I attempt to answer those questions. Enjoy, comment and subscribe.   #Astrophilia #Bigbangtheory #Cosmology #CosmicInflation
