He was one of the very best songwriters, storytellers, and guitar players who ever lived, and he was also a humble, decent, hilarious man. It was an honour to have him in the studio and in my home in 2014. He leaves behind many grieving family members and friends, but also leaves behind an incredible musical legacy. Joel's music was new to us when he visited with Mike last year, but I knew his name as the mastermind behind some amazing programming that aired on CMT Canada. Joel's IMDB page is a who's who of Canadian music as he's produced or directed specials, shows, and videos for a lot of our favourites.
