Description

Doctor Who Podcast by Eric Grissom and Dan Johnson reviewing the classic era. That’s right, this is the good stuff. Hartnell, Troughton, Pertwee, Baker, Davison, the other Baker, and McCoy. Maybe even McGann. Some say they do it because they ran over a magical drifter who cursed them. Others claim the show was willed to them by their long-lost British “Uncle”. Whatever the reason, the one thing you can count on is these two Americans really love Doctor Who.

I know this is Mad, but imagine an alternative universe where the Master, not The Doctor is the central character seeing things from HIS point of View... where The Tardis is rightfully HIS property (was Mathew Jacobs referencing the original lore that the Tardis was stolen ANYWAY- but it was stolen from the Master?) the Doctor is a Half-Human, mixed blood "mongrel" who has "poisoned" the Tardis "against him", and he was unfairly and cruelly persecuted by his former employers The Daleks? I'm aware that the story starts with the Doctor's "internal monologue"- but The Master is already on board in his translucent snake form, and his IS capable of being telepathic- (profoundly so according to The Doctor in Logopolis) and privy to the Doctor's thoughts. I'm not really seriously suggesting it, I'm not even sure it SOLVES anything- except for the TV MOVIE being an inaccurate version of details and events told from the point of veiw of an unreliable narrator- but I am going to bear this idea

(Here's the email I sent in if as anybody wants to read it) "The Invisible Enemy" has taken a lot of criticism, and rightly so, as it is quite preposterous. But I DEARLY love it. This is partly because I saw it on transmission at 7 yrs old  (which is absolutely the best way to watch ANY Doctor Who in my opinion) and because "7 yr old" me got -  Tom Baker !! Space Stations and Star Ships!! an unprecedented amount of ambitious laser gun battles!!  incredibly striking science fiction ideas! (albeit at the expense of scientific accuracy and even  it's own  consistency..)  and of course-  the unforgettable- K9!!!       (Hooray!!!) That's leaving out- sentient space viruses, the whole  "Doctor Who wandering around his own brain" Fantastic Voyage bit- and the *ALWAYS* terrific Louise Jameison (who is in MY opinion THE single most impressive technically profficient REGULAR supporting actor in Doctor Who....)  The crimes against science and plot consistency are admittedly hard to ignore- from "

Guys on expectation you will read this out but I did draft this after you speculated on the Tom/Lalla Tryst & subsequent affair of season 17 & it's affect on their working relationship. I've fixed it again for syntax errors if you WANT to read it. Thanks P. On the subject of the  Tom/LALLA feud mentioned in the show- To the best of my fannish knowledge I've aquired over the years, mainly from LALLA WARD interviews in Dr who magazine  and reference books- Tom & Lalla had a fling in Paris during City Of Death, Lalla later questioning the wisdom of getting involved with the shows star & I think  calling it off around the time season 17 wrapped. Tom Baker took this badly & made her "pay" for most of season 18 until she relented to keep the peace. They got married sometime after season 18 finished but as we all know it didn't last. As wonderful as Tom Baker is as an actor he wasn't really his "best self" by this point, being a HUGE TV star. You have to remember he was conceivably the most f

here is full length version of my email to Dan and Eric about TARDIS NAVIGATION in the series Dear GuysI I don't think you're going to be able to read all this on the show. I've put the bits that you might want to in bold. Take a deep breath And forgive me PAUL PARANOID-------------------------------- You were asking about the TARDIS not being able to make short jumps in the black and white era of Doctor Who Obviously in the first decade of the show the TARDIS served as a story device in much the same way as "The Time Tunnel" does in its eponymous series, or the Alternative History portal in the TV series "Sliders" did to get regular characters to a new location/story scenario. Anyway as we're all aware TARDIS navigation DID improve, and certainly by The Invisible Enemy (1977) the TARDIS is a steerable vehicle with great accuracy. (the doctor may have been cheating and using the infamous 'fast return switch' to flip flop between Titan and the Asteroid medical lab in The Invisible Enemy
