Tonight was a fun Book Talk with Australian author Carolyn Miller. I love her Regency novels and am excited to talk about her contemporary romance series. I love that her contemporary series is set in the Original Six NHL hockey teams -- hockey might mean field hockey in Canada, but she's jumped right into conveying the energy and action of ice hockey in this series.
We talked about research, the fun of writing two genres, all the ideas in her head, and the fun we're anticipating working together on a novella collection that releases next April (2023). I hope you enjoy this conversation.

So excited to introduce you to my friend Rachel. Rachel McMillan is the author of The Herringford and Watts mysteries, The Van Buren and DeLuca mysteries, The Three Quarter Time series, The London Restoration, and The Mozart Code. Her non-fiction works include Dream Plan Go: A Travel Guide for Independent Adventure and A Very Merry Holiday Movie Guide. Rachel lives in Toronto, Canada, and is always reading.
We had so much fun talking about how she creates her books, chooses her settings, finds all the research details, and more. Then we waxed eloquence on the importance of editors and talked about her role as an agent. We also gushed about books we love, too. Rachel is the ultimate pro at spilling about all the things she loves about the various books she reads.
I hope you enjoy our conversation. And be sure to check out her latest book...The Mozart Code. It is brilliant!

So excited to introduce you to Kate Angelo. Driving Force was released on March 22nd -- it's so good, y'all! The hero is a military veteran, the protectee is a war dog, and the heroine is a bodyguard. It builds on Lynette Eason's Elite Guardians series, and I am loving it.
Even more, I enjoyed getting to know Kate as she shares her passion for writing, research, and telling a good story with you. She also shares what it's been like writing for Sunrise and working with Lynette (a favorite person and writer!). Maybe most important for her, we talk about why Instagram is her favorite social media to engage with readers. You will listen and then want to run out and buy Driving Force.

This episode was so much fun as I chatted with my friend Kimberley Woodhouse. Her road to publication is an amazing story of two authors pouring into her. Tracie Peterson and Colleen Coble have played pivotal roles in my writing life, so I am not at all surprised that they have been critical for Kimberley. Kimberley has written over 30 novels, and many have been coauthored with Tracie Peterson. You'll love learning about their process as they coauthor. And Kimberley's favorite characters to write are her villains. We may share that in common as well. Be sure to listen in and learn more about her historical romance, historical romantic suspense, and dual-timeline novels. She is one talented and prolific author. I hope you enjoy our conversation as much as I did.

Y'all, I adore Elizabeth Goddard's romantic suspense. They are usually filled with great characters and really interesting plots. This week on Book Talk we talked about her latest novel, Deadly Target, as well as writing and what's coming next. It was so fun to learn more about her writing process and the difference between writing her longer novels and the shorter romantic suspense for Love Inspired Suspense.
Elizabeth is a master storyteller who weaves together multi-layered, rich stories. If you haven't read them yet, I highly recommend them.

I had such fun introducing y'all to Andrea Christenson and her books. Our conversation flowed over her road to publication and what it's like writing with the amazing Susan May Warren. It was a delight to have my writing friend Melissa Tagg join me for Book Talk. She is the USA Today bestselling, Christy and Carol Award-winning author of swoony and hope-filled small-town contemporary romances. She’s also a former reporter, current nonprofit marketing strategist, and total Iowa girl. Melissa has taught at multiple national writing conferences, as well as workshops and women’s retreats. When she’s not happily lost in someone else’s book or plugging away her own, she can be found spoiling her nieces and nephews, watching old movies, and daydreaming about her next fictional hero.
About Autumn by the Sea: This book is the first in a new series set in Maine and it was just released last week—Yay! Learn all about the hero, heroine, setting, blueberry farming and so much more.
