The plan, though, is to build in a roasting facility that will allow the plant to treat refractory gold ore from waste dumps, and build up a significant production profile. Metals One managing director Dan Maling joins Vox to explain how it all fits together.
Pan African Resources is a well-established gold miner with long-standing assets in South Africa and a growing presence in Australia. The company was built around the Barberton gold mine in Mpumpalanga, which first began operating in the nineteenth century. The recent high gold price has pushed up margins, and propelled the company to a market capitalisation of nearly £2 billion. Chief executive Cobus Loots joins Vox to talk about the company's promotion into the FTSE250, and where it goes from here

The CQS Natural Resources fund is one of the most influential and long-standing mining investment trusts in London. Portfolio manager Robert Crayfourd joins Vox to offer his insights into where the mining markets go from here - in a year in which gold has surpassed all expectations, but other metals still have some way to go. Are we now in a bull market? - yes, says Crayfourd, but there's still plenty of upside on the table. CQS remains well positioned in precious metals and in copper equities, and offers investors access to overseas opportunities that they might not otherwise get exposure to. Crayfourd also offers his thoughts on base and critical metals, lithium, and why the weaponisation of the dollar has had such a profound impact on commodities.
