Left handed relief pitcher Tim Mayza with the Toronto Blue Jays is a daunting closer despite recent adversity. In 2018 he underwent Tommy John Surgery, more formally known as ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) reconstruction. This procedure is used to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament inside the elbow. After 18 months of recovery Mayza is still throwing strikes in the MLB, dropping in his 90+ sinker. He chats with host Lindsay Berra about how he approaches the game today and what he's learned from his physical and emotional challenges. Previously, she set an American record of 9:07.63 in the same event to win a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games.
