🎶She drove up to Cincinnati, it took her 17 hours in a van...🎶 In this episode I talk about Andy's and my summer roadtip with the pets, then our 2nd trip up to Andy's cabin in Wisconsin later in the summer. I devote the second half of the episode to my all-time favorite musician, Jimmy Buffett, and how his music has influenced my life and inspired me to live in my postcard! **Correction: At one point I say we took Lancelot and Calypso to the cabin on our 2nd trip of the summer when we flew up; I meant to say Lancelot and Jello. 😻

Andy and I and 4 of our friends went to Nashville in early May for another Taylor Swift show...which ended up being a rain show! It was a wild weekend with lots of news drops from/about Taylor and a 4-hour shelter-in-place at the stadium! Then later in May, Andy and I drove our new van to Gulf Shores, Alabama for the Hangout Music Fest, which Andy dubbed LoveFest! Andy and I have taken a few trips lately! In March we visited my Denver roommate Holly on her new farm outside Boulder! Then in April we went to NYC and the most fun club, House of Yes, followed by the Taylor Swift Eras Tour in Tampa. Hear about how we got tickets in the midst of the Ticketmaster debacle and what the show was like!

It has been 12 weeks since Hurricane Ian, and while mainland Ft Myers has mostly gone back to some semblance of normalcy, the beach and islands have not. I give updates on all of it, including my trips to the island and what it's like there. Then I talk about what Andy and I have been up to since Ian, including our 1-year anniversary, a trip we took, some of my favorite holiday traditions, and a trip we have coming up! *I apologize for the recording hiccups in this one, there are a few more pauses than usual where I had to start a new segment! **The cover photo is the picture I talk about in this episode of Nervous Nellies, where we had our rehearsal dinner, showing the difference from November 11 to December 7.

My experience before, during, and after Hurricane Ian, including hurricane prep, scary moments, our time in Vero Beach (where we evacuated), our return to Ft Myers, how our pets did with all of it, how this was different from my experience with Irma 5 years ago, and what I know of the current status of Ft Myers and the surrounding islands in the days after the storm.

I recap what I've been up to all summer! Hear updates on our puppy Ghost, what we did on our roadtrip to Indiana and Wisconsin, and progress we've made on our house, moving from the flooring/painting/furniture stage into the decorating stage! I tell about several of my favorite rooms, including the cabana room, fireplace room, and living room, and the space we have turned into what we call the dance floor! And, at the end, I share our big new purchase...something we have wanted for a long time that is definitely part of our "postcard"! *Note: I accidentally say in the episode that Andy went to Wisconsin; he actually went to Minnesota! He grew up in Madison and is a Wisconsin fan too, but went to school at Minnesota.

I start the episode by telling all about life with Andy's and my new Pomsky puppy, Ghost! I recap some of the challenges of being puppy parents we've encountered over the past 3 months, share more about Ghost's personality, and tell a couple funny stories about her, as well as tell you which of our pets fell in our new pool! In the second half of the episode, I have my first ever podcast guest, my friend Tracey! She is also a writer and podcaster, and we talk about everything from blogging to poetry. Tracey talks about her writing process and what has inspired her to dive into several creative outlets over the past 2 1/2 years, and I even learn a couple things about her I didn't previously know! I talk about our final preparations, the fun and festivities the week of, the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, brunch and getting ready the morning of, the ceremony itself, and a few snafus we had! I also tell you the secret behind my pen name and why you might have been confused if you were watching my wedding posts on Instagram!

I give some brief wedding updates, talk about Andy's and my dog Wade, vent and rave about 2 of my favorite TV shows, Younger and Dexter, including looking at them through my writer's mind, and...give an update on the cliffhanger I left you with at the end of the last episode! ;)

Well, for this episode at least. :) I start by giving an update on my writing, including the last series I published and the series I'm working on now. I tell a little about the plot of this newest series and when I plan to start writing the last book! Then I talk about Andy's and my current house hunt, some of the features we're looking for in our next house, and I share some of the pros and cons we've been debating along the way, as well as a few details about houses we've seen! Then, I end by telling you a fun fact...but really telling you nothing. ;)
