I've another crackin' selection for you this week. There's some real beauties in the mix, with brand new funky bangers and some gems from the vaults. So sit back, crank up your bass and let the vibes flow through.

This is my 150th Bootlegs & B-Sides show and also my first of 2026, so I've decided to make it a special one. I've selected some of my all time favourite tunes, and chopped them up to try and squeeze in as many songs into the hour as I could. I'm pleased about how it turned out, so give it a whirl. Happy New Year, let's hope it's a good one.

I was delighted to see one of my favourite groups and hip-hop icons, OutKast, get inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame recently. I have been a huge fan of this visionary duo, since their debut album and loved everything that they have released. OutKast kicked open the door for Southern hip-hop, when the focus was primarily on the East and West coasts. Through their unique storytelling and their ability to blend genres and push boundaries, they let the world know that "The South got somethin' to say".

I kicked off this week's mix with some savage old school numbers from some of the stars of hip-hop's Golden Age. Then a few winners from some funk legends, followed by some modern producers, doin' their thang, with some bass funk bangers. Get stuck in.
