The Hundred's women start their tournament on 11 August 2022, with the Welsh Fire women surely keen to improve on their last place finish in 2021.  Aussies will be central to their chances, with the addition of experienced Rachael Haynes and exciting Annabel Sutherland. But it could be the out-of-favour England star Tammy Beaumont who makes all the difference: can she prove the doubters wrong?  This is The Hundred Club: a community for fans of short format cricket.
The Hundred 2022 women tournament starts on 11 August 2022. The Kate Cross led Manchester Originals will want to pick up the momentum they had at the end of 2021, where they won the last three group games.  here are some interesting stories in the squad, with overseas signings Lizelle Lee, Deandra Dottin and Amy Satherthwaite all involved in issues with their countries.  But the bowling might be the real story with this team, spearheaded by the imperious Sophie Ecclestone.  This is The Hundred Club: a community for fans of short format cricket.
Can the Southern Brave women go one better this year and win The Hundred? Rich and Tom think they should; they've added awesome talent in Tahlia McGrath, Smriti Mandhana and Amanda-Jade Wellington. That complements established and breakthrough England stars like Danni Wyatt, Sophia Dunkley, Maia Bouchier, Lauren Bell and Freya Kemp. Who can possibly stop them? This is The Hundred Club: a community for fans of short format cricket.
The Hundred 2022 women tournament starts on 11 August 2022, and London Spirit will be keen to go a touch better than last time, when they just missed out on the eliminator stages. They've suffered a big blow though with an injury to captain Heather Knight. Tammy Beaumont has also moved on, seeking a bigger role at the Welsh Fire. So it might be down to some of new faces: Beth Mooney is a top quality Australian batter, but it is perhaps the young Kiwi superstar Amelia Kerr who can lead the Spirit to success in 2022. This is The Hundred Club: a community for fans of short format cricket.
In less than 24 hours the women will join The Hundred. Birmingham Phoenix lost their early momentum in 2021... can they push further in 2022?  Sophie Devine and Elysse Perry are crucial for that charge, along with England stars like Amy Jones. But should they have let Shefali Verma go?  This is The Hundred Club: a community for fans of short format cricket.
In less than 24 hours the women will join The Hundred. Trent Rockets will be looking to improve somewhat on their 2021, and have made some big signings accordingly.  There are none bigger than superstar Aussies Meg Lanning and Alana King. They will be well backed up by the fearsome English players Katherine Brunt and Nat Sciver, as well as South Africa's Mignon du Preez. But will their style suit the famously free scoring Trent Bridge ground?  This is The Hundred Club: a community for fans of short format cricket.
Reigning women's champions Oval Invincibles begin their title defence of The Hundred on 11 August 2022.  The star South African names of Shabnim Ismail, Marizanne Kapp and Dane van Niekerk should be back. But will the loss of players such as Tash Farrant be covered by the continued development of Alice Capsey?  This is The Hundred Club: a community for fans of short format cricket.
The Hundred's women start their tournament on 11 August 2022. Northern Superchargers will be feature in the first game against the defending champions.  Key to their success will surely be their awesome top-order: Jemimah Rodrigues, Alyssa Healy, Laura Wolvaardt and Alice Davidson-Richards. But what kind of score will they need to post to help out a less star-studded bowling attack?  This is The Hundred Club: a community for fans of short format cricket.
The Hundred starts today with Southern Brave looking to defend their title.  Tom and Rich make their predictions for the tournament: who will win, who will lose. They also pick out some names to watch as the tournament develops... and rant a little bit about Jonny Bairstow!  This is The Hundred Club: a community for fans of short format cricket.
The Hundred tournament starts on 3 August 2022, and Birmingham Phoenix will be hoping to repeat their group topping efforts of 2021.  It might be a tough ask though as the squad seems to have caught the injury bug: Chris Woakes is working back to fitness, Adam Milne (the Kiwi quick bowler) has had Achilles heel problems, Olly Stone is confirmed out...  There is still quality though, and can you even really rule out any team with Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali and Matthew Wade?  Plus, there is always the Imran Tahir factor...!  This is The Hundred Club: a community for fans of short format cricket.
The Hundred tournament starts on 3 August 2022, and Trent Rockets will want to match last year's strong performance.  They have kept the core of their squad to do that, centred on the superstar that is Rashid Khan. Even when he is on Afghanistan duty, they will bring in the very experienced South Africa international Tabraiz Shamsi.  In the batting, they will hope domestic stars Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Alex Hales live up to their price tags. And, for at least a few games, there is some bloke called Joe Root who we quite like...!  This is The Hundred Club: a community for fans of short format cricket.
The Hundred tournament starts on 3 August 2022, and Oval Invincibles have assembled a really well balanced squad.  Mohammad Hasnain is an exciting addition to work with the all-rounder Curran brothers and Sunil Narine. Plenty of batting power in the mix too, particularly if Jason Roy can re-discover some form.  Might they make it to the eliminators this year?  This is The Hundred Club: a community for fans of short format cricket.
The Hundred tournament starts on 3 August 2022, and it will start without Ben Stokes. He's pulled out of the tournament (as well as retiring from England ODIs) to balance his work load as the new Captain of England's test team. That is fair enough, but where does it leave the Northern Superchargers? Rich and Tom think it leaves the squad looking older and more patchy than most. Faf du Plessis had a great IPL 2022, but Dwayne Bravo, David Wiese and Wahab Riaz haven't been so hot. Maybe Adil Rashid can repeat his 2021 heroics and become the difference?  This is The Hundred Club: a community for fans of short format cricket.
The Hundred tournament starts on 3 August 2022. No-one will be watched more closely through the tournament than Jos Buttler.  The new England ODI and T20 Captain had a sensational IPL in 2022. But form has dipped since he returned to the UK, and he'll be keen to take his team to glory in The Hundred.    He's got some big hitters alongside too: Andre Russell, Phil Salt, Laurie Evans. But it's not clear what Rich thinks putting Wanindu Hasaranga in at #3 in the batting... they'll need his magic bowling to take the wickets!   This is The Hundred Club: a community for fans of short format cricket.
The Hundred tournament starts on 3 August 2022. Since a disappointing 2021, the Welsh Fire franchise have made some big changes...  If England duties allow, the batting firepower looks awesome with Jonny Bairstow, Ollie Pope, Ben Duckett, David Miller... but what happens when test duties start calling?  Will Adam Zampa prove the doubters wrong once and for all? And will Naseem Shah's pace or Noor Ahmad's mystery spin be the best option?   This is The Hundred Club: a community for fans of short format cricket.
The Hundred tournament starts on 3 August 2022. London Spirit finished bottom of the group stage in 2021 and suffered the tragic loss of their head coach Shane Warne over the winter. How will the team return in 2022?   Rich and Tom think the squad certainly looks better on paper. Will #1 draft pick Kieron Pollard live up to the price tag? Will Eoin Morgan rediscover his form without the England captaincy? Or is it up to Glenn Maxwell to provide the star quality?   This is The Hundred Club: a community for fans of short format cricket.
The Hundred tournament starts on 3 August 2022. Southern Brave men are the reigning champions and head coach Mahela Jayawardene has stuck with the winning formula, with a lot of the squad carried over from 2021. Can Quinton de Kock, Marcus Stoinis and James Vince pile on the runs? Will Chris Jordan, George Garton and Tymal Mills tie down the opposition? And does the middle order look a little out of form?   This is The Hundred Club: a community for fans of short format cricket.
Rich and Tom react to some interesting decisions. There is no sign of Shefali Verma at Birmingham Phoenix, Tammy Beaumont is missing from London Spirit and the Trent Rockets have had a clear-out!  Who has the most work to do before all of the contracts are signed and announced on 30 March 2022?
It turns out that a lot of the rumours were right: Glenn Maxwell will go to London Spirit but Quinton de Kock is not retained. Rashid Khan is back but there is no sign of some big West Indian names.  Every team has left themselves work to do at the draft on 30 March 2022, including at least one top-tier pay bracket slot... will those spots be filled by the biggest names in cricket?
The official lists of retained players for The Hundred in 2022 has yet to be released. Rich and Tom discuss the rumours and the updates as the draft on 30 March 2022 approaches...
