All Star Superfan Podcast

"I'm coming after all of you. And hell's coming with me." Forget capes and superpowers. This time, we're getting our hands dirty! Alan Burke and Rob O' Connor dive into the twisted world of the new Clayface film, as DC brings one of its most fascinating and unconventional characters to the big screen. With horror, mystery and a healthy dose of the macabre on the menu, does Clayface deliver something genuinely different or did a Batman The Animated Series do it better 34 years ago? We get under the skin of the movie, dissect the performances, explore the story and deliver our verdict! One thing is for sure, things are a out to get messy! "You know what I'd have given for a death scene like this?" In anticipation for the upcoming Clayface movie, Rob and Alan discuss the various iterations of the Man of Mud across comics, videogames and of course the legendary reinvention of the character as seen in Batman: The Animated Series. We discuss how the different versions in the comics informed the animated version, some of the other less-remembered versions in comics and later animated series and we give our thoughts on the trailer for the brand new film directed by Speak No Evil director James Watkins and starring Tom Rhys Harries as Matt Hagen from a story by Midnight Mass scribe Mike Flanagan.  PLUS: We get Alan's thoughts on Lanterns! "And I love you too, Junior..."   Rob is joined once again by Jan Rollings to discuss season one of DC's LANTERNS starring Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler. We discuss each of the characters and their corresponding actors, the major storylines of the season and the ramifications they may or may not have in the future as well as the (somewhat controversial) grounded style of the series and whether or not it was wise to take such a sci-fi/fantasy mythos and dial it so far back. And the all-important question: is the wirework in this modern prestige HBO show as good as the wirework in Superboy?! PLUS: We discuss the Marvel's Wolverine and the brand new Hellraiser Revival game.  SUPPORT & CONNECT WITH ALL STAR SUPERFAN PODCAST 🎧 Join our Patreon for exclusive bonus episodes and to help support the show (a brand new episode of A Podcast for the 90s: A Superboy Rewatch Podcast featuring Lance Laster from Always Hold Onto Arrow has just gone live!) ⭐ Rate and review All Star Superfan Podcast on Apple Podcasts 💬 Join the Inside All Star Superfan Podcast Facebook group 📩 Send us an email or a voicenote with your thoughts on this week’s episode EMAIL: [email protected] FACEBOOK / INSTAGRAM / THREADS / BLUESKY: @allstarsuperfan Theme music by Shawn Allen  Production, Editing and Social Media Poster designed by Rob O' Connor  Any additional materials used for entertainment purposes only
