(Apr 3, 2026) Waters running high. Five minutes shy of 13 hours of daylight. Not too late to raft the Hudson in the morning and ski at Gore in the afternoon.
(Mar 27, 2026) Mud season below 1000 feet. Windchills near 20 below on high peaks. Waters running generally high. Skiing only generally recommended at groomed facilities.
(Mar 20, 2026) Fresh wet snow in the forecast. High Peaks summit temps in the teens. World Cup Cross Country competition at Van Hoevenberg this weekend.

(Jan 16, 2026) Backcountry skiing took a big hit with rain and warm weather. Temps will be very cold, especially with windchill. Chance for snow showers through the weekend.
(Jan 9, 2026) Keep an eye on rivers and streams as they rise from the rain and snowmelt. There remains at least 6 to 8 inches of snow on the ground at lower elevations.

(Dec 5, 2025) Dangerously cold wind chills on high peaks. 18 inches of snow at Lake Colden. More than a foot of snow in Tupper Lake. No ice is considered safe.
(Nov 28, 2025) Wind chills on High Peaks in the single digits to teens below zero. 4-8 inches of snow at lower elevations. Whiteface and Gore will start daily operations.
(Nov 21, 2025) 5-10 inches of snow on the ground at lower elevations. Carry snowshoes and traction devices if headed into the High Peaks. Whiteface and Gore open.
