It is easy to feel like faith is just a list of restrictions designed to keep us from having fun, but what if those instructions are actually a map to get us out of prison? In this message, we explore the surprising connection between the ancient story of Passover and the true meaning of Christmas. We often find ourselves stuck in habits, addictions, or toxic patterns that we hate, yet we keep going back to them. We want to be free, but we don't always like the process required to get there. By looking at the story of the Exodus, we see that captivity isn't just about a physical place; it represents the things that trap us today. We discover that God gives us direction not because He is trying to control us, but because obedience leads to freedom. "Those who lack the courage will always find a philosophy to justify it." Many of us struggle with sharing our faith, not because we don't know what to do, but because we simply lack the courage to do it. We often feel like cowards because we can look back on moments where we knew we should have spoken up, but we stayed silent. But transformation is possible. We don't have to be defined by the opportunities we missed last time. In this message, we look at the story of Peter—who went from denying Jesus in fear to speaking with incredible boldness in Acts—to see how the Holy Spirit can change us. Why is it that we can convince people to try a new spot without knowing the address or the menu, yet we feel unqualified to share our faith because we don't have all the answers? We often overcomplicate evangelism by thinking we need to be experts. But sharing Jesus isn't about having answers to all the complicated theological questions; it’s about genuinely sharing your story of Jesus rescuing you. When something has transformed you, you naturally talk about it, and that enthusiasm is what makes people go looking for it. You don’t need to know everything. You just need to be able to talk about how Jesus has transformed your life. At 12Stone Church, learn how to Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Purpose and Make a Difference. Are you living with a napkin on your lap or a towel over your arm? It’s time to stop sitting in the booth demanding to be served. True hospitality means trading the mindset of a customer, who is preoccupied with their own life, for the mindset of a servant. Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve. The real challenge is to make the change from the napkin, which we use to be served, to the towel, which we use to serve others. This means we stop acting like customers and start asking one simple question in every situation: "What would a servant do?" Hospitality isn't something to discuss; it's something to do.
It's easy to be kind to our friends. But what about strangers? What about the people who have hurt us? In this sermon, "Who Am I Supposed To Serve?", we're digging into the idea of true hospitality. Using the story of the Good Samaritan, we explore what it looks like to "cross the road" for people who are broken—even when it's inconvenient, costly, or for someone we'd call an enemy. We all have a "20-foot circle" of influence, and this message is a challenge to use it. After all, people often won't care what we believe until they see how we serve. It's easy to feel like you don't have enough to make a real difference. We see a big need, look at our own hands, and think, "I can't help." But what if the problem isn't what we have, but our willingness to use it? In this message, we're diving into the excuses that stop us from practicing hospitality. Using the story of the feeding of the 5,000, we're learning that God isn't looking for our extravagance—He's looking for our willingness. What's in your hands? A little bit of time? A specific skill? A resource? It might be the exact thing God wants to use to change someone's world. At 12Stone Church, learn how to Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Purpose and Make a Difference. In a world that is often hostile, hospitality is a superpower. Are we just practicing fellowship with people we already like, or are we practicing true hospitality by "loving the outsider"? Choosing hospitality means being intentional. It’s seeing compassion towards all people not as a suggestion, but as a "divine expectation". It’s moving beyond our comfort zones to "pursue" and be "inventive" in how we care for the "unlikely" people around us.
Does your home ever feel more chaotic than peaceful? In a world where everything can feel uncertain, it's easy for that same confusion to take over our families, leaving everyone feeling unsteady. What if your most important role as a parent wasn't just to manage the chaos, but to intentionally create order? In this message, we discover that the calling of a parent is to bring order out of a chaotic world. While kids might say they enjoy chaos, we learn they are actually designed to thrive in the security and safety that comes from an ordered environment. You'll learn why establishing clear boundaries and standards is the key to helping your family move from devolving into chaos to thriving in peace , and how to restore order when the world around you feels out of control. Does life feel too busy and chaotic to build a strong, healthy family? It’s easy to feel like you're just two ships passing in the night—more like roommates than soulmates, or more like chauffeurs than parents. What if the solution isn't about adding more to your already packed schedule? In this message, we discover that a healthy family isn’t built in big, grand gestures, but "on the go" in the small, everyday moments that we all have. We explore the powerful idea of choosing to build your family with "stones"—the intentional, lasting habits—instead of "straw," the easy, convenient choices that don't hold up when life gets hard. You'll learn how to replace what you're already doing with better, more connecting habits and how to prepare your family to be unshakeable when the storms of life come. What if following Jesus isn’t just about what you believe—but how you live? This message unpacks how God designed your body, soul, and choices to work together for His glory. Because when you try to live with “square wheels,” life breaks down—but when you live by His design, it starts to roll the way it was meant to. Have you ever wondered why your family feels so dysfunctional, like a bumpy, jarring ride? The truth is, God created family to be a smooth and effective "round wheel". But the world—and the influence of sin—comes along to shave down and redefine key relationships, turning God's perfect design into a broken "square wheel". In this message, we dive into God's divine design for family, revealing the simple, non-obvious reason your home life or marriage may be struggling. You love God first, your spouse second, and yourself third. When we get this order wrong, we bring our own baggage, wounding, and narcissistic tendencies into our most sacred bonds. Stop the destructive "tug of war" in your home, reject the square wheel, and learn how to get on the same side to build a transformed, unshakable life. Everyone has problems they are trying to fix, from daily struggles to deeper issues like anxiety or a broken marriage. In this message, Pastor Jason takes a look at the movie Spider-Man: No Way Home to explore how our problems, much like Peter Parker's, don't exist in a vacuum and often become someone else's pain. Just like Peter tried to ignore, hide, and fix his problems on his own, we often do the same. However, ignoring our problems won't make them go away, and hiding them only makes them grow more dangerous. The Bible says that our sin will track us down and that the consequence of sin is always "later and greater". It always leads to a harvest of decay and death. Ultimately, Spider-Man realizes that to fix everything, a great sacrifice must be made. Similarly, the Bible tells us that the wages of sin is death, which means a sacrifice must be made to fix our problems. The good news is that we don't have to be the ones to make that sacrifice. While we were still powerless and caught in our sin, Christ died for us. God loves and values us so much that Jesus was glad to die in our place, giving us the opportunity for a new life. If you're tired of running, hiding, or trying to fix your problems on your own, it's time to stop and trust in the free gift of forgiveness and salvation that Jesus offers. He is the only way to have a true fresh start.
In this teaching, we explore the core message of the movie Hook: a man who misplaced his identity and lost his purpose, leaving him hollow, empty, and powerless. Pastor JB argues that this is a timely word for us today, as much of the suffering we experience is the result of misplaced identity in things like career, relationships, and politics. Biblically, this misplaced identity is a form of idolatry that leads to anger, apathy, or aimlessness. The good news is that salvation isn't just forgiveness—it's an identity transformation. When you surrender to Jesus, he redefines you as a new creation and an ambassador for Christ, breaking the cycle of brokenness. This sermon speaks to two groups: those who need boldness in their identity as a Christ-follower and those who need to bow to Jesus for the first time to find their true identity and purpose. In this message, we explore the universal struggle with emotions like anger, fear, and anxiety through the lens of the movie Inside Out 2. While the movie is great at showing what's broken, it offers a poor guide for our lives, suggesting we can fix ourselves by trying to be a "good person". The truth is, we are incapable of solving what is truly broken inside of us. Jesus did not come to make bad people good; He came to bring dead people to life. The good news of the gospel is that salvation is not by our works, but is a gift from God, by grace through faith in Jesus. If you're tired of trying to fix yourself and are ready to admit you need a Savior, this message is for you. Do you ever feel stuck, like you're going through the motions alone? In this sermon, Pastor Steve shares a powerful truth: "Without authentic community, we're just in crowded isolation, because getting unstuck is not about what you know, it's about who you're with." This message challenges the lie of a "Me and Jesus" faith, revealing how the enemy uses isolation to keep us stuck and defeated. Drawing on the Book of Acts, Steve shows that the Christian faith is, and always has been, a community faith. When we connect with Jesus and His people, we find the freedom and healing we've been looking for. If you're ready to break free from crowded isolation and experience the power of authentic community, this message is for you. Do you ever feel like you're just going through the motions? You know the basics, but you're missing the power that makes life truly work. In this message from our ACTS series, Pastor Jason uses the real-world events of Acts 19 to explain what happens when you decide to fully commit to your faith. He’ll show you three practical results: People who are searching get what they need; those who are faking it get exposed; and when enough people change, it transforms the entire community. Stop settling for the minimum and start seeking something real—your change is waiting.
Do you ever wonder, "Can people really change?" Can a liar become a truth-teller? Can the addicted find freedom? In this powerful sermon, Pastor Trey confronts this universal question with a resounding YES, revealing how the Holy Spirit holds the incredible power to transform anyone into a new person. Drawing from the radical transformation of Saul into Paul in the Book of Acts, Trey demonstrates that "there is no past too bad to keep us from a new life". You'll discover that being "filled with the Holy Spirit" means actively inviting Him to control your life, leading to a profound newness. If you're tired of feeling spiritually cold, stuck in old patterns, or simply know God has more for you, this sermon invites you to say "yes" to the Holy Spirit's transforming power today. Do you ever feel a constant longing, like nothing in life truly satisfies? You're not alone. In this sermon, Pastor Jason dives into the "spiritual hunger" we all experience, explaining why we often find ourselves "too easily satisfied" and "too quickly distracted" by lesser things. Using a vivid buffet metaphor, you'll discover how we fill our lives with "spiritual junk food," leaving no room for the deeper, truly satisfying "more" that God offers. Drawing from the Book of Acts, Jason reminds us that Jesus promised an "Advocate," the Holy Spirit, as "THE MORE" that can fill that void and provide true peace and presence.
Do you ever feel like you're missing out on the greatest joy and fulfillment life has to offer? We believe God created you on purpose and for a purpose that is bigger than yourself. But discovering that purpose is only the beginning; the culmination is using what He’s given you to make a lasting difference. In the conclusion of our series, "Hymns," Pastor Jason Berry unpacks the Parable of the Talents, revealing that we are accountable for the time, talents, and treasure God has entrusted to us. It’s not about how much we are given, but what we do with it. Are you burying your gifts, or are you investing them in what matters for eternity?
Do you ever feel a nagging sense of emptiness or wonder, "How do I find my purpose?" In a world struggling with a "Pandemic of Purposelessness," this message is designed for anyone feeling aimless, stuck, or simply longing for more meaning in life. Pastor Steve unpacks God's vision for living out a greater purpose than you might imagine. Discover how your unique purpose is found on the other side of surrender, as God, like a skilled potter, reshapes your life (Jeremiah 18). You'll learn:     •    The Power of Surrender: Why surrendering your plans to God is the first step to unlocking His purpose for you, echoing the profound truth in the hymn "I Surrender All."     •    Purpose in Your Everyday Life: How God's purpose isn't just for a select few, but transforms your role as a teacher, parent, student, or in any job, turning "mundane moments" into Kingdom opportunities.     •    The Benefits of a God-Sized Purpose: How a bigger purpose defines your identity, protects you from temptation, guides your decisions, and brings true joy and fulfillment, even amidst problems. If you're ready to stop feeling lazy, passive, or simply living for a lesser purpose, join us to discover the incredible "why" behind your existence and embrace the meaningful life God created you for.
