Radio bucket lists get questioned, flopped TV shows are mourned, and a first real back injury sparks talk about aging and pain. Things spiral into wasted money confessions, brutal job rankings, screenshot vs. screen grab debates, unwanted nicknames, celebrity look‑alike claims, replacing hands with ridiculous objects, whether to delete photos of exes, reviving the head‑cam, and building the ultimate sandwich.
Five fingers, five mystery liquids — what are you dispensing at a moment’s notice? Plus, relationship hypotheticals get spicy as the crew debates the idea of “hall passes” (yes, even the people who insist they’re above it), how strategic you are about the perfect last bite of a meal, and the awkward reality of pretending to love a dish that keeps getting served again and again. Also on the table: silence vs. nonstop chatter on car rides with your partner, what truly represents you and the show in a time capsule cracked open 25 years from now, an eye irritation vs. an un-scratchable itch nightmare scenario, and the very divisive question — do you rinse after brushing or spit and trust the paste?
Roz takes issue with Earth Hour, emotional moments follow as a longtime listener remembers his late mother, and the crew plays Shrinkage. Maurie heads to Blue Jays batting practice, gets reaction from fans after Cardi B’s Toronto show, and checks in with devastated Italian soccer fans. We also hear from James Marsden about his new movie Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice, Drew Scott on Property Brothers: Under Pressure, Jay Armstrong Johnson on Heated Rivalry: The Musical, and chat with Jon Hamm, Olivia Munn, and James Marsden for season two of Your Friends & Neighbours.
Roz and Mocha Retro Show throws it back to 2014 with three classic Roz rants. From the harsh realities of living with a kid, to an unexpected meltdown over ear wax, to his hot take on why music doesn’t have any ugly people anymore—these vintage Roz moments are peak unfiltered hilarity.
A full‑time walking accident at 37 is looking for advice after a lifetime of tripping over nothing, constant minor injuries, and accidentally breaking things—including two dishes in one week. Even when trying to slow down, the clumsiness never seems to stop, and having ADHD only adds to the chaos. The big question: is there a way to be less of a hazard to themselves and everything around them, or is it time to accept this reality and start padding life accordingly?
Dentist confessions, vented moments chaos, Swiss Chalet marinade drama, and questionable public phone behaviour all make the cut, plus Roz’s hatred of March and Maurie’s new smile get examined. We hear from HGTV Canada’s Sarah Keenleyside, Ben Johnson and Shamier Anderson talk about their new series, and Maurie shares highlights from the Junos, including chats with Sarah McLachlan, The Beaches, and Shawn Desman.
Netflix raises prices again, Vancouver Canucks season ticket holders push back against another increase, and Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus make award‑show headlines. There’s fallout from a Donald Trump interview, growing pressure on Air Canada’s CEO in Quebec, major moments from the Junos, celebrity lawsuits, bizarre crime stories, and multiple sports shakeups. Plus, we revisit Maurie’s chat with Artemis II astronaut Jeremy Hansen and hear from devastated Italian fans after Italy misses the World Cup again.
Debates and questions pulled straight from listener DMs, including who the best and worst drivers on the show actually are, whether “Rub It On My Face” should return, how often towels get reused, what everyone wants their legacy to be, proof (or lack thereof) that Frank and Carl exist, challenges getting into broadcasting, Shem’s favourite nickname, Disney character comparisons, what one task a personal robot should handle, reading habits, how names were chosen for kids and pets, almost saying “that’s what she said” at the worst possible time, charging‑phone fails, and the crew’s worst vacation horror stories.
From puberty horror stories (BO, growth spurts, body hair and voice cracks) to who gets asked for a three‑way the most, things get very personal on this episode of Ask Roz & Mocha. Roz calls out what he finds soft about everyone on the team, Shem and Mocha face off in a hypothetical archery showdown, and the crew debates studio upgrades, ultimate nacho toppings, and who would last the longest if dropped into the wilderness with no phones. Plus: would you erase one memory from your brain if you could — and which one would it be?
Roz kicks off spring by confessing all the places he’s gone barefoot, while the team vents about misleading triple‑decker sandwiches, expensive underwear habits, and how badly drivers handle fire trucks on the road. There’s a wild Helluva Story from Joseph, who survived a terrifying childhood animal attack, a viral heated argument in Jamaican Parliament, and Chloe’s painful cooking accident. Plus, birthday love for a longtime listener, debate over whether Roz’s friends “Frank” and “Carl” actually exist, a look at new Blue Jays eats at Rogers Centre — and Maurie interviews Blue Jays great Kevin Pillar ahead of the new season.
The boys of summer are back! On this episode of the Roz and Mocha Retro Show, we’re celebrating your Toronto Blue Jays with some classic throwback moments — and a few familiar voices you probably miss. We rewind to 2014 when we hung out with Brett Lawrie, José Bautista and manager John Gibbons talking Father’s Day, hit 2013 as Roz reminisces about the Jays back in the day, and jump to 2015 with Mocha sharing stories from his NYC trip to see the Jays live. A must-listen for Jays fans who love a little nostalgia with their baseball. ⚾️💙
A powerful week of FMLs as listeners open up about some of their toughest real-life situations — from rebuilding a strained relationship with a father after years of addiction and absence, to deciding whether it’s safer to stay quiet or speak up after decades of workplace microaggressions, to struggling with guilt and exhaustion while parenting a child with trauma alongside a toddler, and navigating how to help a teenage son take hygiene seriously during puberty. Honest letters, complicated emotions, and real advice from Roz and Mocha.
Alessia Cara stops by to talk about her new album Love or Lack Thereof and celebrate 10 years since her debut, while Devo Brown joins the show on his final day at KiSS to reflect on his journey and officially hand over Set It Off to Shem. Plus, Joe Capio shares his terrifying firsthand story of surviving an Air Canada plane collision at LaGuardia, walking through the chaotic moments as passengers rushed to evacuate. The crew also debates toilet nests versus sharing a toothbrush, reacts to a viral teacher’s hilarious Romeo & Juliet student quotes, laughs over a Florida woman calling 911 over “fake” Canadian bacon, and spirals into candy addictions, nose pimples, bullying hypotheticals, and questionable life choices.
Canada has been making headlines after Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast, where he addressed Donald Trump’s “51st state” comments, around the same time a new global report dropped Canada to 25th in the World Happiness Rankings, citing heavy social media use and declining well‑being among young people. There has also been disturbing fallout from New York’s LaGuardia Airport, with passengers and air traffic control audio emerging after an Air Canada plane collided with a vehicle on the runway. In entertainment news, Chuck Norris has died at 86, Jelly Roll shared an emotional mental and physical health update with fans, and Meta and YouTube were ordered to pay $3 million after a jury ruled their platforms contributed to social media addiction harms.
Wild DMs spark everything from debates about who can hold “It’s Friday” the longest, to where you’d hide $10 million in your house, to how long you’d survive without the internet for cash. Things spiral into confessions pulled straight from search histories, opinions on the worst possible celebrity roommates, ranking the best forms of potato, embarrassing adult skills people still don’t have, unhinged wedding stories, and the very questionable collections some people keep at home.
What’s one word that instantly pisses you off? Which health supplement do you actually swear by? What do you want to be remembered for, and if you could only eat one meat or protein forever, what are you choosing? Shem breaks down his favourite cruise ship, cruise line, and destination after sailing them all — plus which ship he thinks is the best fit for the rest of the team and their partners or families. The crew also reveals which artist they’d most want to do a duet with, whether they clicked instantly when they first started working together, and the one trend they absolutely refuse to participate in, no matter how popular it gets.
Roz and Mocha get into Gen Z’s latest trend, “raw‑dogging boredom,” after debating whether intentionally doing absolutely nothing is the new meditation. The show also spirals into food chaos with steak‑and‑eggs dinner envy, an emotional rant over Swiss Chalet discontinuing its chicken marinade, and a heated argument over whether macaroni salad actually counts as a salad. Plus, embarrassing listener confessions, an unbelievable Hot Wheels collecting story, an interview with Patrick J. Adams about his new series The Madison, and the mystery of what really happens to the Oscars red carpet once the show is over.
It’s an all‑naked theme on the Roz and Mocha Retro Show as the guys rewind to some unforgettable moments from the vault. First up, a 2014 conversation about the rise of naked yoga, followed by another stop that same year when a very specific cash offer was made to encourage full nudity. Then we jump ahead to 2016 and revisit the debate around Going to Work Naked Day, proving once again that this show has never been afraid to strip things down—sometimes literally.
A series of real‑life dilemmas spark honest conversation and heartfelt advice, from navigating identity and belonging in a mixed‑heritage family, to coping with the emotional shift that comes with becoming a new parent. There’s also concern over suspected emotional boundaries crossing at work, frustration with unsafe and unresponsive rental living conditions, and the challenge of holding space for love and security while the world’s opinions creep in.
Roz and Mocha recap their whirlwind 24‑hour trip to NYC and what it was like seeing the podcast featured on a massive digital billboard in Times Square. The show also leans into St. Patrick’s Day chaos with drunk clips, shamrock‑fueled streeters, and questionable Irish drink choices, before settling debates on big spoon vs little spoon, gross hotel bed discoveries, and a restaurant robot that glitches out and starts smashing dishes. Plus, a historic winter storm up north, Gen‑Z slang explained through fine art, and the crew bravely taste‑tests one of the worst snack combinations imaginable.

Why has the quality dropped so much on these podcasts, every podcast recently has a moment where it randomly cuts and picks back up in the middle of another conversation. I use to love the podcasts but this is really making me not want to listen to them. Please have whoever is making the podcasts do some sort of quality control. Love the podcast and want them to be great
