Back with another Headlines episode where we look at the week gone and the week ahead in the world of Premier League Football, Boxing & MMA. Gameweek 12 saw 36 goals scored in the 10 games. Our main game to discuss this week was a 4-0 demolition of Arsenal at the hands of Liverpool at Anfield. We look at the clash between the managers on the sideline and the effect that had on the game, Aaron Ramsdale's standing out again, Diogo Jota making himself a main part of Klopp's Liverpool, Oxlade-Chamberlain & Arsenals passing out from the back. We then look at the rest of the weeks results and we look at Watfords smashing of Manchester United and the eventual sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjær and the clubs plans on the managerial front for the rest of the season. This is the fourth edition of our Headlines episode where we look at the main headlines from the last couple weeks for the 3 sports we cover Football, MMA & Boxing.Football - During the international break 3 clubs were in search for a new manager, Steven Gerrard was hired to replace the out-going Dean Smith at Aston Villa [02:44] Dean Smith wasn't out of a job for long as he took up the vacancy at Norwich [12:05] What next for Lampard? We recap UFC 268 which was a packed card from MSG New York. Headlined by a couple of rematches which saw the top 2 Welterweights in the world compete for gold again Champ Kamara Usman vs rival Colby Covington. The co-main saw Champ Thug Rose Namajunas vs Zhang Weili go at it again for the belt. Also the main card opener saw Justin Gaethje vs Michael Chandler in a Lightweight title eliminator. Legend Franie Edgar took on Chito Vera & Featherweights Shane Burgos vs Billy Quarantillo made up the main card. There were some impressive Knockouts on the premlims on the night also! Finally we end the episode with a quick preview of the Max Holloway vs Yair Rodriguez card from The Apex this weekend.
Gameweek 11 saw the first Manchester Derby of the season and we analyze the events from Old Trafford. The blue side of Manchester, Manchester City crusied to a comfortable 2-0 victory as Manchester United's struggles continue. We then move onto the rest of the weeks results and discuss a couple of managerial sackings, including West Hams good form, Dean Smith, Daniel Farke and more
First we recap UFC 267 which took place on Fight Island Abu Dhabi. One of the cards of the years saw veteran Glover Teixeira make history as he became the oldest fighter to win a first UFC title by claiming gold in the Light Heavyweight division as he submitted Jan Blachowicz. In the co-main Petr Yan & Cory Sandhagen put on one of the best Bathamweight title fights which saw the Russian Yan become the Interim Champion & in line for a grudge rematch with Champion Aljo Sterling. Islam Makhachev made a statement at Lightweight as he finished Dan Hooker in round 1, Khamzat Chimaev returned with another flawless performance inside the octagon & much more action. Then we more onto this weekend as we preview another packed card this time from MSG in New York City, headlined by P4P king Kamara Usman as he rematch against bitter rival Colby Covington, Womens Straw-weight Champion Thug Rose Namajunas runs it straight back with Zhang Welli & Lightweight contenders known for their never back up attitude Justin Gaethje & Michael Chandler throwdown.
Gameweek 10 & our focus is on Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United where there was huge pressure on both managers. We analyze the result as Ole Gunnar Solskjær's side came out on top with a comfortable 3-0 victory & the aftermath which saw Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo's lose his job and replaced by Italian Antonio Conte. We recap gameweek 9 but we had to start at Old Trafford as Man United met Liverpool. Pressure has been mounting on the home side and their manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær over the past few weeks and its now at a all time high as Liverpool eased past Man United 5-0 thanks to a hat-trick from the inform man in the country at the moment Mo Salah. We go in depths with the problems at Old Trafford, the managers future, the recruitment & much more. We then go through the rest of the weeks results with wins for Arsenal, Man City, Leicester & West Ham.
We open the episode analyzing Newcastle's first game since the takeover at a packed St. James' Park, Spurs were the visitors. Newcastle was looking for their first win of the season to really kick off a new era for the club in a positive way and thats how it started but not how it ended. We discuss Steve Bruce, Newcastle's future & Spurs' best 11. Then we go to Watford where Claudio Ranieri took charge of his first game against in-form Liverpool & Mo Salah. And it wasn't a good start for Ranieri as Liverpool cruise to victory with a Firmino hat-trick & a Salah wondergoal. The last gameweek before the October international breaks. Before we got into gameweek 7 of the Premier League we have a little chat about the situation between M'Bappe & PSG where earlier this week he accused his club of lying about the timing of his request to leave. The first game we analyze was in thrilling clash between title rivals Liverpool & Man City. An enthralling 2nd half at Anfield saw the points shared. We talk Phil Foden, Mo Salah, James Milner & who would be more disappointed with the 1 point earned. Then we look at Man United vs Everton, with Cristiano Ronaldo starting on the bench and just claiming a point from the game, pressure continues to mount on Ole Gunnar Solskjær. A strong 2nd half from the visitors saw the European Champions ease past Spurs.
