A Dave, Dan, and (eventually) an MJ get together to discuss a terrible week for the Loons, but find some reason for optimism and look forward to the run-in at the end of the year and what the Loons can do to win the whole damn thing!
We're back to break down the 1-1 draw with the Portland Timbers. We address a couple of big questions, including the future of Joseph Rosales, the tiredness of the team, and who our immediate impact and long-term future dreams for our most recent transfers.
A podcast, only 3 months after our last one. We talk a bit briefly about a few matches from the past three months, including wins, yes WINS over Seattle, the Leagues Cup, um, debacle, and Open Cup.
Then afterwards we dive into the ins/outs of the Transfer Window, noting that this was a particularly great window for the Loons, even though they left it late. After that we briefly break down the run-ins for the Top 3 in the Western Conference, which, spoiler alert, includes the Loons
Finally, brief recaps of our beloved lower division teams, MPLS City SC and Aurora FC.
We get together for a special episode where we interview Loons Legend Mo Saeid. We talk to him about his transition from Scandinavia to the US via Columbus, the difference between an established team Columbus and an expansion team in Minnesota. We also get his thoughts on a few other Loons legends as well. Oh yeah, we also had a couple of matches to talk about!
We're back, this time with a Dan to break down a busy two weeks for your Loons. We recap the Open Cup triumph in Louisville, Beckham getting into the Menchies, a schedule loss down in Texas, and give STL the what for on their garbage pizza and garbage soccer team!
The gang is back to start with a quick recap of the previous three matches, was very muched a mixed bag. Then, a longer dive on the arrival of Julian Gressel, arguably one of the best signings of the MLS Transfer Window (wink, wink). And finally we wrap up with some lower league soccer as Aurora and MPLS City are about to kick-off their seasons. Soccer abounds in the Twin Cities!
Balls? Where we're going we don't need no stinkin' balls! We're back to talk about the month of matches we missed while a Dave was moving about one mile! From worrying trends to the worst match to ever attend, we cover it all, including that drab draw in stinky ol' Canada!
We're back starting our 9th!!!! year. We get quickly caught up on the young guys the Loons brought in and briefly discuss the 6 point haul that very easily could've been 7 or 9. We also discuss some league transparency and make fun of our next three opponents.
The last pod of 2024, we recap the moves made by the team, talk about our feelings, and speculate on what the team might do in 2025.
Also, we get the worst gift in the history of doing this podcast!
A quick post-mortem of the Loons loss to the LA Galaxy 6-2 on Sunday. We also play a brief game of Should He Stay or Should He go and give some quick thoughts overall on the season. We'll be back with a more thorough breakdown of the moves the team makes and what we'd like to see next year, after roster moves have been made.
We're back to break down the last three matches, a Decision Day win and two Penalty Wins in the playoffs. Up next LA Galaxy.
We also gave some opinions on the potential of MLS moving to the European calendar.
We discuss the three amazing Loons matches and break down some playoff scenarios. Ultimately we have some fun with Gopher soccer and @everton being bad.
A Catch-Up podcast on the month that was for Minnesota United, including some fun SKC facts, checking in on the new guys, and a fairly detailed breakdown of the playoff race/chase.
A Dave, MJ and a Dan get together to discuss all of the recent Loons moves both in and out of the club. They discuss how the new signings might fit in and speculate about how the team will lineup on Saturday!
Later they recap the USWNT Gold Medal run, the hiring of Poch for the Men's team, and some brief European soccer.
We're back to break down the Leagues Cup matches for the Loons and highlight the recent spate of signings.
Then we spent the bulk of the episode discussing the US Women and Men (but let's face it, the Women's tournament has been better) Olympic adventures. Including some interesting substitution patterns for Hayes, A Swanson renaissance, Trinity Rodman with bangers, and a basically average Men's team performance.
We're back to discuss the Loons not super great week briefly, but hey, they did Make a Wish and get off the losing train, so baby steps.
More importantly, Bridget and Nubia are joining Dave to help discuss the US Olympic soccer teams. Firstly, a brief discussion of the men's team, followed by a much deeper dive on the women's team.
We have a full podcast this week as Nubia, Eric and Rodrigo join MJ and Dave to briefly discuss the Loons, MPLS City and Aurora, before deep-diving into the EUROs and the chaos that was CONMEBOL and COPA America '24. As always, the MN Futbol Show brings the receipts.
Two Loons matches and two new ways to lose. Eric, MJ, and Dave briefly discuss the most recent Loons losses and chat about what has gone wrong with the team and who, if anyone, is at fault for the recent slide in form. Bright side, we actually think they played well the last few matches. After Loons news we discuss MN Super Cup and MN Aurora before wrapping up the pod with EURO & COPA thoughts. Eric has some thoughts on Brazil!
The MN Futbol Show Boys join to discuss Loons, but mostly to talk Euros and Copa. What is wrong with Mexico, can the US survive (spoiler alert, they can't), and what is up with this Eastern European futbol renaissance? Also, we find out in real-time Aurora is not hosting playoffs for some fucking reason!
The less said about the Loons the better, so we dispense with the Loons quickly and since we are joined by Brazilian correspondent Eric Silva Brenneman to talk all things Copa America and Euro 2024.
We also chat briefly about the Loons transfer rumors and Minnesota Aurora FC is very close to clinching their third straight Heartland Title.
Very fun podcast. Dave, Dan, MJ, Bruce et. al. are very knowledgeable about MN United, and soccer in general as well as a variety of other topics. This has become a favorite pod of mine and not just bc MJ is a good friend of mine. Keep up the good work guys!
