Through his gentle but direct words, Carlo helped his parents rediscover and return to their Catholic faith. In 2006, he died from leukemia at age 15. He was Beatified in 2020 by a delegate of Pope Francis, and declared a Saint by Pope Leo XIV in 2025. Pier Giorgio Michelangelo Frassati was born in Turin, Italy on April 6, 1901.Just before receiving his university degree, Pier Giorgio contracted poliomyelitis, which doctors later speculated he caught from the sick whom he tended. Neglecting his own health because his grandmother was dying, after six days of terrible suffering Pier Giorgio died at the age of 24 on July 4, 1925. Join Fr. Great show! My favorite part was where you steamrolled that woman into believing her marriage was over because her husband disagrees with you. [sarcasm] You are so great at counseling for marriage on behalf of the church. [end sarcasm] There was no help finding common ground. You could have started with their presumed love for the kids. You could have talked about the time-frame of the disagreement in much greater depth. You could have encouraged them to express their greatest fears and then after listening to each other's position they could negotiate ways to mitigate the fear on each side. You could have walked her through what that conversation might look like; included ways strategies to reduce perceived risk for each and encouraged her to maximize respectful compromise. You could have suggested the two of them get the kids' opinions about their own safety vs. bullying risk tolerance. There were so many ways you could have encouraged the caller to meet her spouse with a mutual ef
