The State of The Ravens

The State of The Ravens

2026-01-1401:44:10

It's been a whirlwind last week here in Baltimore, and when the Ravens are in crisis mode, you can count on Steve Bisciotti to get in front of the mic, and calm the mood. He did just that today, joining Eric DeCosta at the podium, and the Baltimore media for his first press conference in three years. Bisciotti and DeCosta spoke in detail about the firing of John Harbaugh, the current state and future of this franchise, and everything that will go into getting this team back to where it belongs. Jake and Spenny are here to break it all down, as well as review all the candidate s currently in the discussion to take over as this teams head coach. Thanks as always for tuning in, and we'll be back at you very soon! Talking Orioles

Talking Orioles

2026-01-1301:04:21

The New Year has come and gone, football season has ended in Baltimore, and Jake and Eric are back to talk some Orioles as we inch closer to pitchers and catchers reporting next month. The guys discuss some of the recent moves made to bolster the Orioles' pitching staff, namely the Shane Baz trade, as well as the re-signing of Zach Eflin to a one year, $10 million dollar deal. The guys discuss what the next big move could be (if there is one made), such as the rumored signing of on of Ranger Suarez, or Framber Valdez. They also go over some of arbitration deals that were reached (as well as the two that weren't) ahead of the deadline to send a potential agreement to a hearing. Finally, the grab bag is opened up to discuss some light topics like the upcoming Birdland Caravan schedule, and some fun additions to the giveaway schedule. Thanks as always for tuning in, and we'll be back at you very soon! In their most hyped regular season matchup in years, the Ravens squared off against the Steelers with the AFC North on the line... and came a kick away from taking the division. In a fitting end to a maddening 2025 season, Tyler Loop's wide right miss erased a mostly admirable performance by Baltimore's defense, and an insane fourth quarter from Lamar Jackson and company. We get into all of tonight's drama, say goodbye to a season that's mercifully come to an end, and look ahead to what's next from Owings Mills this offseason. Thanks as always for tuning in, and we'll be back at you very soon. Join Spenny and Jake for a quick ticket giveaway and some light banter!
The Ravens are still alive. After the Browns held on to the beat the Steelers in Cleveland, Baltimore heads to Pittsburgh with a chance to beat their rivals, and win their way into the postseason. The guys talk about an awesome weekend to be a Ravens fan, this crazy ride of the season, and look ahead to what will surely be a very fun week of anticipation. Playoffs start now, baby! With their season on the line, the Ravens needed a win in Green Bay, and they responded by going out and getting perhaps their most comprehensive one of 2025. Tyler Huntley was on time all night, Derrick Henry ran for 216 yards and four touchdowns, and while the defense did what they do at times (bad things) they forced a few critical turnovers that helped proved the difference in this game. The guys are here to go over a very fun win that in 24 hours could prove inconsequential in the grand scheme of things - but with that in mind, try to enjoy this one even more as a potential fun capstone to an otherwise difficult 2025. It's Christmas week, and the Ravens season rolls on, as any hope they have of salvaging things for a playoff run starts with a win on Saturday night at Lambeau Field. Baltimore were already facing an uphill task here that'll be exacerbated by Lamar Jackson likely missing the game, so Jake and Spenny are here to break down how they can get this done - as well as discuss all things Lamar related that have been circulating in the news this week. Thanks as always for tuning in and we'll be back at you very soon. In a much anticipated matchup to keep their season alive, the Ravens impressed throughout much of the contest... and then - as has often been the case in 2025 - let the opportunity to win slip through their fingers. After a blistering start on offense, Baltimore cooled off, and were dealt a huge blow in a game ending injury for Lamar Jackson. The rest of the way saw inconsistency in a Tyler Huntley led attack, big plays surrendered on defense, and a final drive to win the game that fittingly saw Zay Flowers fumble the win away. Th guys are here to break down everything that happened, take stock on what has been a maddening season that's likely all but over, and talk about what might be next for this franchise. Thanks as always for tuning in, and we'll be back at you very soon. After a galvanizing win last week in Cincinnati, the Ravens return to Baltimore where they'll host the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football with a critical opportunity in front of them. The opportunity is actual more of an imperative: to go and win this game to help keep their playoff hopes alive and kicking as we enter the final reach of the 2025 season. Jake and Spenny are here to break down how they can do it, go over all the outcome scenarios, provide their predictions, and much more. Thanks as always for tuning in, and we'll be back at you very soon. After two disappointing AFC North outings in a row, things were beginning to look bleak for the Ravens' chances to win the division. With a huge shutout victory over the Bengals today, Baltimore eliminated their rivals from postseason contention, and made themselves feel a whole lot better about ultimately getting there themselves. The guys are here to talk about a huge day for Zach Orr's defense, a second week in a row that Lamar Jackson has looked more like himself, how they feel about the Ravens chances of keeping it rolling, and much more. Thanks as always for tuning in, and we'll be back at you very soon! As we enter the final month of the 2025 season, things look pretty bleak for the Ravens and their playoff chances. But... a win Sunday at Cincinnati, plus a little bit of help from around the league would be all it would take to inject some hope that they could actually turn things around. Jake and Spenny are here to discuss what it will take to get it done against a team that just punked them in their house on Thanksgiving, what a win or a loss would mean here, and also discuss the unexpected good news that Travis Jones has extended with the Ravens for the next three years. Thanks as always for tuning in, and we'll be back at you very soon! Huge news out of Camden Yards, as the Orioles have signed 31 year old first baseman Pete Alonso to a 5 year, $155 million dollar contract! After years of talk from this front office about opening up David Rubenstein's checkbook to spend money on the free agent market (and intervening swings and misses on big targets), the O's have finally landed their white whale (or, polar bear) in the longtime Mets masher. How did all of this finally come together for an organization that had become synonymous with disappointment in free agency? How does Alonso project to fit into this young clubhouse, and their aspirations to return to the top of the AL East? What does the future hold for current players that a move like this no doubt affects? The guys get into all of that, and plenty more on tonight's show. With the AFC North hanging in the balance, the Ravens made it clear going into today's game that they'd be treating it like a playoff outing. If more than half of their playoff performances in the Lamar Jackson era are the measuring stick for that, that's exactly what they did. A frustrating first half that included stalled offensive drives, turnovers, and bad calls set the stage for a second half that saw a pretty inspired comeback fall painfully short (plus, more bad calls). The guys are here to complain, listen to you guys complain, break down all that went wrong, and what Baltimore needs to do going forward if they're going to capitalize on the slim chances they still have to make the playoffs. Thanks as always for tuning in, and we'll be back at you very soon. As the homestretch of the NFL season arrives, the fate of the AFC North is decidedly murky. Sunday will play a huge role in determining who will ultimately win this woebegotten division as the Ravens and Steelers clash in Baltimore with identical 6-6 records. From a surprise extension for Mark Andrews, to yet another injury for Lamar Jackson causing him to miss a practice, Jake and Spenny have plenty to get into in addition the game preview itself. So, enjoy the show as we take you into the weekend, and as always, we'll see you again real soon. Another week, another win for the Ravens who have crawled their way out of a seemingly insurmountable 1-5 pit to the top of the AFC North. The guys hop on the stream to talk through the good, the bad, and the ugly of today's victory, and how they're feeling about this Ravens squad that's had to eke out a few close wins vs. inferior opponents the last two weeks to get to where they are. They also discuss all the goings on around the AFC North today, and how they're feeling heading into a critical Thanksgiving night game vs. the Cincinnati Bengals. Thanks as always for tuning in, and we'll be back at you very soon! The Ravens season on the brink continues, as they outlast the Cleveland Browns to the tune of a nail-biting one score win at Huntington Bank Field. After a first half that contained a comedy of errors for Baltimore, the team found their footing in the second half, and looked like the more mature team who were able to gut out a much needed win in spite of their early mistakes. The guys are here to cover this topsy turvy affair, the debut of Shedeur Sanders against the Ravens defense, Todd Monken's best playcall in purple, and much more. The Ravens have been on a tear recently, and are one win away from making up their 1-5 start by getting back to .500. They're going to have a chance to do so against a team they've already beaten handily this season in the Cleveland Browns, but it's been five years since Baltimore has completed a season sweep over their division rivals. Jake and Spenny are here to break this game down, including concerns of a trap game as we head into it, what Baltimore can do to stay out of their own way and get the win, and how things will setup for the rest of the season if they are able to dig their way back to a level record.
