This week on Gator Tales, Presented by UF Health, Voice of the Gators Sean Kelley sits down with a pair of Florida stars on the diamond in Aidan King and Ava Brown as the spring sports schedule hits full force. Kelley catches up with King on the heels of his first weekend start of the 2026 season, having chucked six shutout innings to earn the win against UAB on Feb. 14. The two discuss King's second act in Orange & Blue after a historic rookie campaign one year ago in which the Jacksonville, Fla. native paced all qualifying SEC pitchers with a 2.58 ERA on top of a .213 batting average against (eighth), 73 1/3 innings pitched (16th) and five quality starts. Kelley and King also get into some off-the-field topics before the interview concludes. While the baseball team has jumped out to a 4-1 start, Brown and the UF softball squad are 14-0 to open the campaign. Brown has been a major reason why, as the junior two-way talent had batted .355/.583/.806 with four homers and 14 RBI in 14 contests while pitching to a 4-0 record and 0.60 ERA in the circle over eight appearances. The Montgomery, Tex. product dives into this year's team with Kelley while getting into additional softball topics and more. Both UF baseball and softball are at home this weekend from Feb. 20-22. Baseball welcomes Kennesaw State for a three-game series at Condron Family Ballpark while softball hosts a tournament against Longwood, Middle Tennessee and Lindenwood. Enjoying the podcast? This week on Gator Tales, Presented by UF Health, Voice of the Gators Sean Kelley provides the first exclusive interview with new UF Football Offensive Coordinator Buster Faulkner. Hired by Head Football Coach Jon Sumrall on Dec. 11, Faulkner arrived in Gator Country after three successful seasons as the offensive coordinator at Georgia Tech (2023-25). He comes equipped with 14 years of experience as an offensive coordinator alone, also coaching the tight ends at Georgia Tech after three seasons at Georgia as an offensive quality control coach (2020-22). Across his 20-year collegiate coaching career, Faulkner has claimed three National Championships, six collegiate conference titles and four division crowns, while also claiming a high school state championship as both a coach and a player. During their conversation, Kelley and Faulkner discuss the latter's transition to the Gators as well as his vision for the Florida offense. Faulkner aims to bring the same success to the Gators that he experienced with the Yellow Jackets, who ranked first in the ACC in rushing (197.8), second in total offense (437.7), third in passing efficiency (144.1) and fifth in scoring offense (31.0) from 2023-25.
This week on Gator Tales, Presented by UF Health, Voice of the Gators Sean Kelley sits down with junior All-American Kayla DiCello as she prepares for a long-awaited return to competition in Orange and Blue. The 2023 Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year stepped away from collegiate competition to chase a dream—earning a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team—but her journey was interrupted by an Achilles injury sustained at the U.S. Olympic Trials. After a season of recovery and reflection, DiCello is finally ready to take the floor again. Just how long has it been? When DiCello competes on Friday, it will mark 1,001 days since her last appearance for the Gators at the 2023 NCAA Championships team final. Episode 56 features DiCello on the eve of Florida's season-opening home quad meet, where the preseason No. 3 Gators host No. 24 North Carolina, Temple and West Virginia inside the O'Connell Center. In her conversation with Kelley, DiCello opens up about her personal growth during the injury-induced break, the role her faith played throughout her recovery and the excitement of returning to competition in front of passionate collegiate crowds. Adding to the emotion of the night, Friday's opener will also feature her sister Karleigh, a sophomore competing for West Virginia.

With the 2026 campaign set to tip off in Las Vegas in less than two weeks, Golden and Kelley discuss the busy offseason for the reigning National Champions. Golden also previews the upcoming season with high expectations in store once again for the AP's Preseason No. 3 team. In cutting down the nets last April, Golden became the youngest head coach to guide his team to a national championship since Jim Valvano in 1983. Under his leadership, the Gators closed the season on a 12-game winning streak, with marquee wins over nine top-25 programs, including No. 1 seeds Auburn and Houston.
