Renovation work is hard. Actually its painful at times. But if we want to be made like new and updated we need to allow the renovation work to be done. 🔨 The Message Bible quotes Jesus as saying, '“Don’t look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don’t fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do. The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires total attention. We’re continuing our series on RENOVATE: This weeks focus: RENOUNCE...."We Can Have the Language of Repentance - Without the Practise of Obedience!" 🎯 To renounce is to reject or abandon an attitude, bad habit or lifestyle. Last time we looked at repentance; turning from what no longer belongs. Listen in to this weeks message as we delve into how we do that. 🙏🏻🔥 .... 'He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.' Proverbs 28:13 NKJ 🙏🏻🔥 .... 'That means you must not give sin a vote in the way you conduct your lives. Don’t give it the time of day. Don’t even run little errands that are connected with that old way of life. Throw yourselves wholeheartedly and full-time—remember, you’ve been raised from the dead!—into God’s way of doing things. Sin can’t tell you how to live. After all, you’re not living under that old tyranny any longer. You’re living in the freedom of God. So, since we’re out from under the old tyranny, does that mean we can live any old way we want? Since we’re free in the freedom of God, can we do anything that comes to mind? Hardly. You know well enough from your own experience that there are some acts of so-called freedom that destroy freedom. Offer yourselves to sin, for instance, and it’s your last free act. But offer yourselves to the ways of God and the freedom never quits. All your lives you’ve let sin tell you what to do. But thank God you’ve started listening to a new master, one whose commands set you free to live openly in his freedom! I’m using this freedom language because it’s easy to picture. You can readily recall, can’t you, how at one time the more you did just what you felt like doing—not caring about others, not caring about God—the worse your life became and the less freedom you had? And how much different is it now as you live in God’s freedom, your lives healed and expansive in holiness? As long as you did what you felt like doing, ignoring God, you didn’t have to bother with right thinking or right living, or right anything for that matter. But do you call that a free life? What did you get out of it? Nothing you’re proud of now. Where did it get you? A dead end. But now that you’ve found you don’t have to listen to sin tell you what to do, and have discovered the delight of listening to God telling you, what a surprise! A whole, healed, put-together life right now, with more and more of life on the way! Work hard for hsin your whole life and your pension is death. But God’s gift is real life , eternal life, delivered by Jesus, our Master.' Romans 6:12-23 Mess 🙏🏻🔥

Repent: WHO….Me??? AYE, You! If we want renovation in our lives, if we want to be renewed and updated we must turn from what no longer belongs. Repentance is the way to new life. "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." (2 Chron 7:14) .... 'as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord ; Make His paths straight. Every valley shall be filled And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough ways smooth; And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’ ” Then he said to the multitudes that came out to be baptized by him, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.” So the people asked him, saying, “What shall we do then?” He answered and said to them, “He who has two tunics, let him give to him who has none; and he who has food, let him do likewise.” Then tax collectors also came to be baptized, and said to him, “Teacher, what shall we do?” And he said to them, “Collect no more than what is appointed for you.” Likewise the soldiers asked him, saying, “And what shall we do?” So he said to them, “Do not intimidate anyone or accuse falsely, and be content with your wages.”' (Luke 3:4-14) .... As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. ' (Revelation 3:14-20)

This weeks focus “The FAITH that TAKES.” 🗡🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🔥🚀🦋❤ We’re diving into Romans chapter 4, Paul’s case study of Abraham and how he laid hold of what God promised him. "You shall know the truth & the truth shall make you free." John 8:32 .... 'And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. ' Matthew 11:12 NKJ .... ' He did not weaken in faith when he considered the [utter] impotence of his own body, which was as good as dead because he was about a hundred years old, or [when he considered] the barrenness of Sarah's [deadened] womb. [Gen. 17:17; 18:11.] No unbelief or distrust made him waver (doubtingly question) concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise and glory to God, Fully satisfied and assured that God was able and mighty to keep His word and to do what He had promised.' Romans 4:19-21 AMP

Here's a short Advent devo from Aileen Flemming and Derek around the God of the impossible. Here's an affirmation to lay hold of these truths by faith: Just for Today, I receive the unveiling of the unlimited riches of Gods glory within me. I thank God for opening my inner eyes to see what He’s already given me in Christ. I declare that supernatural strength is flooding my inner life. “It’s not by might, nor by power”, it’s not by my ability or effort, but by His Spirit and resurrection power at work within me. I receive this by faith. I declare that the very life of Christ is released deep inside me today. His abundant life is mine. His peace and rest for my soul is mine. His direct Divine guidance is mine. I choose to live from the resting place of His love today. I reject pressure and the pull to perform and try to earn His love. I am grounded, secure, and established in His love. It is the source from which everything flows and the root that feeds my life. All is well. It is good to be free. 🙏🏻❤ .... The Angel Gabriel Comes to Mary "Six months after Elizabeth had become pregnant, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a city in Galilee. The angel went to a virgin promised in marriage to a descendant of David named Joseph. The virgin’s name was Mary. When the angel entered her home, he greeted her and said, “You are favored by the Lord! The Lord is with you.” She was startled by what the angel said and tried to figure out what this greeting meant. The angel told her, “Don’t be afraid, Mary. You have found favor [a] with God. You will become pregnant, give birth to a son, and name him Jesus. He will be a great man and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. Your son will be king of Jacob’s people forever, and his kingdom will never end.” Mary asked the angel, “How can this be? I’m a virgin.” The angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come to you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the holy child developing inside you will be called the Son of God. “Elizabeth, your relative, is six months pregnant with a son in her old age. People said she couldn’t have a child. But nothing is impossible for God.” Mary answered, “I am the Lord’s servant. Let everything you’ve said happen to me.” Then the angel left her. Luke 1:26-38 .... 'And I pray that he would unveil within you the unlimited riches of his glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with his divine might and explosive power. Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of his love will become the very source and root of your life.' We hear alot nowadays about living our best life & being the best version of ourselves that we can be. .... What does that look like for you? Have you ever considered what it looks like according to Jesus who said; "“I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. SEPARATED, YOU CAN'T PRODUCE A THING." (John 15:5) Mess He seems to be saying that living a life of true fulfillment and success, OUR BEST LIFE, is impossible without a connection to the Source of life Himself. .... "And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed, saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. When He rose up from prayer, and had come to His disciples, He found them sleeping from sorrow. Then He said to them, “Why do you sleep? Rise and pray, lest you enter into temptation.” (Luke 22: 41-46) .... The strong spirit of a man sustains him in bodily pain or trouble, but a weak and broken spirit who can raise up or bear? (Prov 18:14)
