It is the time of year when intentions are flying! The sad news is, most folks have already forgotten what their New Year's Intention even was. Unfortunately, some of them are flying out the window 🤯. Until recently, I had no idea there was an actual day in January called Quitter's Day.  😬 It kind of makes me cringe. While I don't normally buy into things like this, especially written in such a negative tone, I have found myself more curious this year.I do love to study the human psyche. Listen to today's episode where I bridge practicality, soulfulness, and a little bit of magic to remind you of some of the most impactful ways to nourish your intentions this year. From (Almost) Burnout to Balance In this SOLO episode and the debut of a brand new season of SATIATE hear Sue's personal personal (and vulnerable) story of almost burnout to balance. Call it perimenopause, my aging wisdom, or deep intuition (I am still not sure), but I started waking up in the middle of the night with a terrible panic setting in. In the wee dark hours of the night I kept having the recurring fantasy of canceling everything –– and I mean everything.I don't remember ever having that feeling before.Honestly, it scared the yoga pants off of me.What I discovered and what I did next is what I am sharing with you in this brand new episode (and brand new season) of SATIATE: From (Almost) Burnout to Balance. Have a listen when you are folding your laundry, taking a bath, walking your dog, or driving to work (my favorite times to listen to podcasts). This is potent medicine of our time. I know this simply because I sit with women all day long in my private practice and on retreat who share with me their version of a very similar story. I know I am not alone. How we empathize is a deeper look into our capacity to understand and relate to what another person is experiencing. When talking with my friend Wendy De Rosa on this months episode of SATIATE, I learned some clear distinctions between being overly empathic and being an empowered empath. The former, feeling overly sensitive, disconnected from our sense of self, and most often totally drained. The ladder, feeling what is true and reclaiming our intuitive power in doing so. Similarly, when our empathic nature (especially as women) becomes overly empathic and out of balance, it can deeply effect our relationship with food. While empathy is a natural human response –– feeling the energy around us and connecting with another's emotions –– taking on these emotions as our own (feeling it as if it is happening to us) can be where problems arise.Becoming an empowered empath is where we transform our empathic nature to become our greatest superpower. 💪🏾 Wendy De Rosa is an international intuitive energy healer, speaker, teacher, and author. She is the founder of The School of Intuitive Studies and the renowned Intuitive Healer Training Program & Certification. Wendy is a leading faculty member of The Shift Network with more than 100,000 people attending her live events and programs. And, just last week, Wendy was featured on the Dear Gabby Podcast, hosted by Gabrielle Bernstein. Her work and her new book, Becoming An Empowered Empath ~ How To Clear Energy, Set Boundaries, and Embody Your Intuition are much needed in our world today. If you feel consumed with the state of the world, with others in your life, or even with dynamics in your very own home, this episode is for you!
As many of you know, over the past many months, I have been cooking up my next book. If you have dabbled in the book writing process, you might know that there are many hoops to jump through –– creating clarity, a book proposal, sample chapters, finding an agent, platform growth, submissions, and hopefully a wonderful editor and publisher to publish the final book. (Plus, plenty of book launch strategies and promotions once the book comes out!) Book writing is a process that for me, has required a lot of patience, resiliency, tons of growth and transformation, and especially steadfastness in keeping on with the vision and process, even if it feels hard. On my journey, there have been both many obstacles to overcome and many milestones to celebrate –– some big and some small. If you are curious about my book story, I have a new SATIATE episode for you. Join me as I speak with my very own book coach, Joelle Hann (AKA The Brooklyn Book Doctor), all about my book journey.
