The Miami Dolphins' 2026 coaching staff is coming together. With Bobbly Slowik and Chris Tabor on board to coordinate the Dolphins' offense and special teams, respectively, the Dolphins are left only to hire a Defensive Coordinator to fill the biggest holes on Jeff Hafley's staff. With hiring news beginning to slow down, the focus is now shifting to the draft and beyond. With that in mind, Aaron and Josh are back to open up the ol' mailbag for today's show. On today's show they'll answer questions about who they like at pick #11, Jon-Eric Sullivan's leash, Jonah Savaiinaea, Jeff Hafley's demeanor, and – yes – even Tua Tagovailoa. Join us for all of this and more on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
A new era of Miami Dolphins football began on Thursday as owner Stephen Ross officially introduced new General Manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and new Head Coach Jeff Hafley. For weary Dolphins fans, the press conference struck a positive tone, with Sullivan stressing his desire to build the team through the draft and only using free agency only for "difference makers" and even then, not until the team is in a better place from a cap perspective. Hafley struck a similar tone, stating that his core principles are trust, belief, accountability, and toughness. Both men stressed the need to develop strong play on both lines of scrimmage. It's not the first time that the Dolphins have held a press conference with a new head coach who has won over the fanbase with words, but it's the first time in decades that such a press conference was held two introduce to new hires from outside of the building and, if nothing else, that is a good sign in and of itself. Aaron and Josh are back to discuss it all and give their thoughts on a brand new SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!

SODS - 403 - HE GONE

They actually did it! After dragging his feet a little bit, Stephen Ross finally decided to fire Mike McDaniel, stating that he feels the franchise is in need of COMPREHENSIVE CHANGE. At long last, that change is coming. Aaron and Josh react to this news, discuss potential head coach candidates (OH HI, JOHN HARBAUGH), and look at the Dolphins' final four GM candidates. All of this and more on a brand new SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
**WARNING: PROFANITY** We're opening up the phone lines and the SUPERCHATS for this one! Black Monday has come and gone and all signs point to Mike McDaniel returning to Miami as the head coach of the Dolphins. The giveaweay? MCDANIEL HIMSELF DECLARING THAT HE WILL BE INVOLVED IN THE SEARCH FOR A NEW GM! The Miami Dolphins are an absolute joke of a franchise and this is yet more evidence that the absentee owner simply does not have a clue. Join Aaron and Josh (and some special guests) for another episode of (the more aptly named than it's ever been) THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW!
After a long season or mostly disappointing results, the Miami Dolphins head to Foxborough to take on the New England Patriots in Week 18. With the Patriots still fighting for the #1 overall seed in the AFC playoffs, they figure to be going all out, while the Dolphins have only their pride and individual contract incentives to play for. On its face, it seems like a lopsided matchup. But the Dolphins only narrowly lost to the Patriots back in Week 2, so can Mike McDaniel's team put together an upset bid in what might be the final game of his tenure? Aaron and Josh are back to discuss it all on the final game preview episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW of the 2025 season!
The Miami Dolphins closed out the home portion of their 2025 season on Sunday with a 20-17 victory over the fading Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The win lifts the team to 7-9 with one game remaining before what has the potential to be a franchise-altering offseason. More important than the result itself on Sunday was HOW the team won: with numerous young players making significant contributions. De'Von Achane was fabulous again, as was Jaylen Wright. Andrew Meyer made his first career start at Center for na injured Aaron Brewer. Zeek Biggers blocked a field goal. And, perhaps most importantly, Quinn Ewers played a good game at QB. While the latter certainly won't be enough to shut down any outside competition coming in, it was sufficient to secure his role as a viable option heading into camp. Aaron and Josh are back to look at the game and what it means for the Dolphins for the rest of this season and the all important offseason months to come on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
The Miami Dolphins made a heavily publicized change at quarterback in the aftermath of their Monday night loss to Pittsburgh. The result? Well, it was simply more of the Same Old Dolphins. While Quinn Ewers looked fine in the first half, the Dolphins delivered another of their signature "turd quarters," allowing the Bengals to put the game out of reach before the 4th quarter began. Once Miami was down by 10 points, Mike McDaniel, as he so often does, abandoned the Dolphins' more than functional run game. With the pivot to a pass-heavy approach, the Bengals sat back and forced Ewers to gamble. Then, as one might expect from a 7th Round rookie making his first start, he didn't look good. Aaron and Josh are back again to discuss the game and what it means amidst reporting that Mike McDaniel's job is secure. Join us for another cathartic episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
It finally happened – Tua Tagovailoa has been demoted to third string emergency quarterback and QUINN EWERS will become the Dolphins' 27th starting quarterback since Dan Marino retired. Aaron and Josh are back to discuss what this means for Tua, Mike McDaniel and the Miami Dolphins going forward. Then there's time for a quick look ahead to Sunday's game – the first time under Mike McDaniel that the Dolphins will kickoff a game having already been eliminated from postseason contention. Once again, the Dolphins had a chance to change the narrative and win a tough game on the road in the cold. Once again, they failed miserably. Josh reacts.
The Miami Dolphins' current four-game win streak has earned them the right to call their Monday night clash with the Steelers a "do-or-die narrative buster." The stakes are high for the team, as they fight to keep their fleeting playoff hopes alive, but they're arguably bigger for head coach Mike McDaniel, who has repeatedly failed to properly prepare his team for December road games against legitimate playoff teams. Is this FINALLY the moment where McDaniel's team wins on a national stage on the road against a real opponent? If so, it would be an enormous step towards keeping his job beyond this season (although it doesn't guarantee anything). ***WARNING: PROFANITY*** Raise your voices and sing the song – the Miami Dolphins absolutely crushed the NY Jets in Week 14 to improve to 6-7 and keep their fleeting playoff hopes alive. Mike McDaniel's reinvented Dolphins team (mostly) attacked the Jets on the ground, rushing for a season-high 239 yards on 41 attempts. De'Von Achane was lighting it up before leaving the game with a rib injury. The Dolphins, however, barely lost a step as Jaylen Wright stepped up a delivered his best game as a pro. It was a day when it was easy to celebrate, but there were still a few head-scratching calls from McDaniel and some even more questionable execution from QB1, but the Dolphins will be pleased to have completed their fourth straight victory. The Dolphins are now set up for yet another narrative-busting opportunity Monday night in Pittsburgh. In recent years, Miami as fallen on its face every time its been presented with a big "prove it" game on the road in December. Will this time be different? It's time once again to sing the song. **WARNING: Profanity** The Miami Dolphins make the trek to New Jersey to take on a team that supposedly represents the great city of New York, but that is in actuality the little brother to the equally inept Giants. That's right – it's Jets week. While fortunes have turned around somewhat for the Dolphins (and to a lesser extent, the Jets), this is still a matchup between two teams competing to stay out of the basement of the AFC East. Can the Dolphins and their newfound ground success earn a tough victory in the chilly New Jersey air? Or is another disappointing December in the cards? For the second consecutive game, the Miami Dolphins did just enough to win or, depending on how you look at it, saw their opponent do just enough to lose. Either way, Miami's 21-17 win over the New Orleans Saints extended their win streak to three games and saw the Dolphins improve to 5-7 on the season. While the odds of their making the playoffs remain minuscule at best, hope remains alive in the Dolphins' locker room. Aaron and Josh are back to discuss the game and give their thoughts on the good, the bad, and (there's plenty of this) the ugly. With the bye week now behind them, the Miami Dolphins are back to work preparing for the final six games of the season. First up: the struggling New Orleans Saints. On its face, this looks like matchup that favors the Dolphins. The Saints' offense has been largely out of sorts all season, save for the work of WR1 Chris Olave. Tyler Shough took over at quarterback from Spencer Rattler and has been uninspiring. Future Hall of Fame running back Alvin Kamara hasn't been able to operate as his typically high level and he left the Saints' Week 11 game against the Falcons with a knee injury. The Saint's defense has been better, but they are not the dominant force they have been in years past. Can Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins' offense, which was not firing on all cylinders in Spain two weeks ago, recover and perform well enough to earn the Dolphins a third straight win? Can their defense continue to improve and shut down the underpowered Saints? The Miami Dolphins have reached their bye week for the 2025 season sitting with a disappointing 4-7 record and having already parted ways with their GM. With six games left in the season, now is a good time to look at what the possible paths forward are for the Dolphins, both for the remainder of the 2025 season and beyond. Aaron and Josh are back with their thoughts on what those possibilities look like and which outcomes would be the best for the team longterm. Join us for this very special BYE WEEK edition of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
If you watched the Dolphins in Sunday morning's game against the Commanders, you saw two evenly matched teams struggle their way through 60 minutes of football. It wasn't so much a war of attrition as it was a struggle to see who could screw up the least. Ultimately, despite some curious play calling and decision making from Mike McDaniel, the Dolphins came out victorious in overtime. Rather that being particularly informative about how the Dolphins are growing under the leadership of Mike McDaniel, the game proved to reinforce the belief of many Miami fans that the team has peaked under McDaniel. The sloppiness and lack of attention to detail that have been hallmarks of McDaniel's teams were present again on Sunday morning. Sure, they won, but how much of the victory was down to the Commanders being the last team to make a mistake? Aaron and Josh are back with their observations and takeaways from another mediocre Miami Dolphins performance on this episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
It's incredible what a single week featuring a surprisingly commanding victory over a top-tier opponent can do! Suddenly, a segment of the Dolphins' fan base has their heads in the clouds thinking of magical possibilities for the 2025 season. A win in Spain over the struggling Commanders may very well send the Dolphins into the bye week believing anything is possible. The truth is that the road is still long, bumpy, and winding, but the Commanders do appear to be the right opponent at the right time for the Dolphins. Washington has given up at least 25 points in each of their last 5 games – all losses. Three of those games saw Washington giving up at least 38 points. Their starting quarterback is out with an injury, they are missing key defensive players, and they seem to be in as great (or even GREATER) disarray than the Dolphins. But can Miami actually build on their performance at home against Buffalo? Can they keep some positive momentum going? Will Tua Tagovailoa stay out of his own way Will Mike McDaniel call a good game? All of these questions and more will be answered as Aaron and Josh return for another fun-filled episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
