KataHaifisch was born in 2015 as a podcast series on SoundCloud. The original mission? To provide a stage for fresh talent within the electronic music scene. What started as a springboard for newcomers quickly evolved into a trusted hub for established artists and creatives alike.
In 2020, we took the next step and transformed from a podcast project into a fully-fledged record label with a distinct sonic identity. We are dedicated to the deep and melodic sides of electronic music: driving Indie Dance, earthy Organic House, and hypnotic Down- & Midtempo grooves.
Since then, our weekly Thursday podcasts have been complemented by regular releases on all major platforms, curating a sound that works just as well for deep listening as it does for the club. Heute haben wir den Münchner Love Foundation Aktivisten und DJ to go seit 2014, JoaRas, mit einem Podcast auf KataHaifisch zu Gast. Für ihn ist Musik eine kollektive Klangtherapie. Durch seine Sets veredelt er Momente. Mit handverlesenem Downtempo und Organic Deep House bringt er die Herzen seines Publikums zuverlässig zum Dahinschmelzen. JoaRas ist stets gewappnet für außergewöhnliche Settings. Neben dem Festival und Cluballtag bespielt er auch Offgrid Lokations auf Segelbooten, am Lagerfeuer oder auch am Strand, teils mit mobilen Soundsystems.

We fell in love with downtempo years ago because, its magic often unfolds in the spaces between the notes — in the intention, the patience in the build up, and the deep listening it invites.
With our new release by mimikri, we’re excited to honor those earlier days of our journey and let a piece of that magic come alive again. The original track, beautifully titled “Marble,” is accompanied by equally heartfelt and harmonious remixes from Laaar and WOJTEK, as well as a more club-driven interpretation by thea & schtu.

🎵 Heute haben wir Moloquai aus dem schönen Switzerland bei uns zu Gast. Er spielte am 22.11. ein Set beim ODD in Mailand. In einer über dreistündigen Performance liefert uns dieser Artist eine Traumreise wie aus dem Bilderbuch: sanft percussiv, verspielt bassig und malerisch melodisch. Man spürt förmlich, wie die Herbstsonne auf der Haut prickelt und die Schallwellen über den Körper wandern. Schaumwein auf der Zunge, nette Menschen weit und breit, so tanzt es sich doch am besten, egal ob draußen oder in den eigenen vier Wänden.

teachings were a valuable part of this journey.
Be reflects the release of a fixed identity – letting go of external expectations and
roles. It is a return to being instead of functioning, creating from inner truth rather
than obligation. The track opens space for presence, softness, and authenticity — a
moment of freedom where the self simply is.
Crawling Up symbolizes steady movement through highs and lows – patient,
grounded, and compassionate. Both tracks carry the intention to share love,
creativity, and uplifting energy with the world.
SALTZ expresses gratitude to Daniel Jaeger for the mastering of Crawling Up and
Manuel Ortuzar for the mastering of Be, and to the remix artists Avocado, Max &
Moritz, Oblomov & Wires.

Der heutige Podcast ist ein Live-Recording vom diesjährigen ATOM Festival, das in Occitanie (Südfrankreich) stattfand und stattfindet. Schöpfer dieses Werkes ist der in Berlin beheimatete Composer & Sound Artist Ektoplast. Je nach Spielart und -weise (Live-Set oder DJ-Set) wird es bei ihm eher Down- oder Midtempo. In diesem Ausritt vereint Ektoplast seine deepe Facette mit bouncigem Sturm & Drang. Down-Tech zum Reinkommen, bouncig-melodisch zum Hauptgang. Dabei schwingt in jedem Moment die Atmosphäre des Festivals mit und verleiht dem Set eine besondere Würze. Da wünscht man sich glatt den Sommer zurück.

Berlin-based duo Thea & Schtu present Mond, their debut EP on Heimlich Musik. Known for their captivating live sets across European festivals, the pair translate the energy of their performances into two original tracks that balance deep grooves, playful melodies, and hypnotic atmospheres.
The title track Mond glides through lush pads and shimmering synth textures, carried by a warm, rolling bassline that invites both movement and introspection. Köln follows with a slightly darker edge, layering percussive details and drifting chords into a steady, late-night journey.
The remix contributions round off the EP with three distinct reinterpretations. Just Emma infuse the track with an organic, groove-laden warmth that subtly flirts with psychedelia. Kon Faber stretches Mond into a cinematic voyage, full of depth and dreamlike tension. Finally, Deisen strips things back for a minimal, club-focused take that tightens the energy and aims straight for the dance floor.
Mond captures Thea & Schtu’s ability to merge live spontaneity with studio precision — a debut that feels both intimate and dance floor-ready.

Who is your hero?
Being born in a post-heroic society, this question is quite hard to answer! I'm looking up to many great musicians and artists that inspire me, and people that walk their own path and do the things they love. Could also be someone picking up someone else's trash from the floor.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I just moved to a little community space in the mountains, far away from noise and light polution. This is pretty much where I want to be :) ok, a beach would be awesome here!
What was your favorite school subject?
Art! Loved it so much that I found a way to make it useful for others too. I've been working as a graphic designer ever since ;)

Heute ist die liebe GERDA. mit einem Podcast bei uns zu Gast. In Berlin geboren und aufgewachsen, kam sie schon früh mit elektronischer Musik in Berührung. Am wohlsten fühlt sie sich mit groovigem Downtempo, bouncy Midtempo und verträumtem Deep House. So steht auch dieses Set ganz im Zeichen des Fluffs.
