Star Wars: Prototypes and Production

Why did Boba Fett infiltrate the offices of Kenner in November of 1978? And why did he show up at Toy Fair in February of 1979? In October of 2025, Ron Salvatore, a longtime Star Wars collector and writer for The Star Wars Collectors Archive (TheSWCA), published an article for the site titled “Boba Fett Visits Kenner - Twice.” In his article, Ron pieced together two key moments from Boba Fett’s history: his visit to Cincinnati to create one of the most iconic and recognizable toy packaging images, and to premiere the first toy offerings of the character to the public. Join host David Quinn for an in-depth conversation with Ron about this important and ground-breaking article. And learn about the history of Boba Fett, as Kenner created and marketed the figure more than a year before the release of The Empire Strikes Back. This is where Lucasfilm, Kenner and Boba Fett intersect in Star Wars’ history. And this is Star Wars: Prototypes and Production! After more than two decades, The Delaware Toy Show is leaving the Nur Shrine Center in New Castle. And over the years, the show has been a treasure trove of Star Wars collectibles, including thousands of Kenner carded and loose figures, modern Hasbro memorabilia, and the precious relics from fifty year’s of the galactic franchise. But the Delaware Toy Show has also been a hub for Star Wars collectors to connect in person, and to build lifelong friendships along the way. Join host David Quinn for one final trip back to Nur Shrine Center, to celebrate a decade of attending the spring and fall shows. Hear about the moments that made the toy show magical and memorable. And find out what’s in store for the future of the Delaware Toy Show, when it moves to its new home in April of 2027. Two years later, FonzCon is back! In September, longtime vintage collector and Empire State club member Fonz Napolitano hosted FonzCon 5 at his home in Syracuse, New York. The weekend was a gathering for Star Wars collectors, highlighting the best of what our hobby and the community offers. FonzCon is a cross between a collecting meetup and the legendary house parties from our high school and college years. It gave collectors the opportunity to have meals together, and to spend a day laughing and creating new memories together. Join host David Quinn for a look at what this year’s FonzCon was really like, complete with conversations with collectors live from Fonz’ collection rooms. Which fascinating and storied Star Wars relics showed up for sale that Saturday? Which item from Fonz’ incredible Star Wars collection would each collector want to take home to add to their own collection? And why do Star Wars collectors from the Tri-State region and Canada return to Syracuse again and again for each new FonzCon? This is how our friends continue to make collecting memorable.
