20, 2-10-SHOW NOTES & COPYRIGHT (Revised from 19, 2-9), (Poem added at end, 8/23/21)3 unpublished poems, however posted on Facebook, from 2018 and one from God Still Rhymes and one from Living In God’s Rhyme.June 12, 2020After publishing 3 books, there  may be no more, I still enjoy writing.  I have found that every so often the subject/tone of the poetry changes.  I have close to 300 unpublished poems.  No book planned now.  But I realized as I typed this poem that if there ever were to be another book it would be titled TOMORROW IS TODAY.   Right now I can’t write the rosy, uplifting poetry/prose that I read on other Facebook pages.  So I have accepted that my focus will be on what we Christians must be prepared for, what God’s word tells us to be prepared for.   When asked about signs of the end times in Matthew’s Gospel, one of the signs Jesus proclaimed was, “Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.” (Matt 13:13, NIV) The Lord is patient, as we must also be.  He has recently shown that patience with me as the last few months have been rebellious on  my part.  It started with too many questions I had after reading too many articles about today’s false teachings in the church.  Today I am blessed to be on month 2 of my recovery of my faith and trust.  One thing that was always on my mind was tomorrow.  Will I be prepared for that day?  Today I am closer to that.  These last few months are also why I am going to be writing about tomorrows.  As Christians we must be prepared and still live our lives as God has prepared for us.Patience is not procrastination. TEARS FOR TOMORROW Be aware today,Hear what others sayThen kneel and prayThat you have heardAll of God’s word. Prophecies then,For just when? For the end of timesWhere there are no rhymes. Yesterday is gone.Today is here.Tomorrow will we fearWhen the world is wrong? Prepare for the coming of the Lord.Rise above the earthly horde.Sing songs of praiseWith hands upraised. Stand tall and proud,Not behind a shroud.Yes, the clamoring crowdAt you will shout so loud. As we sing HallelujahWe understand why,Though we all will cry,For some their HallelujahWill bring tears of joyThrough the birth of a baby boy. 6/10/2020, tcarterDiscussionApril 8, 2018Something that came from reading Isaiah 52 thru 58.   FROM PROPHETS AND WRITTEN LETTERS The letter gets better,It should, it wouldBring a tear of my fearNo longer needed as I heededWhat was said that has leadMe to face what my place,What could be if I seeWhat is you, what is me,What I may be only with you. Thank you for using and not confusingMe with the word that I have heard,Heard of your love, from Heaven above,A love that does give so that I may liveIn your saving grace as I run this race. From times of old with words so boldThe story was told, of today foretold,Of those who you did use so we would not confuseLiving in our times with life in your rhymes. Words that were true, the words from youOf the world in which we live and what you for us...
Today’s focus is on how we present ourselves, our faith with discussion and poemsI started reading 1 Corinthians, Chapter 1 last night and was taken by Paul’s words starting in verse 10:  he writes about division in the church in Corinth.  Some follow Paul, others Apollos, still others Cephas.  Paul states that he follows Christ.  He continues to discuss why it is only Christ we must follow.  It is the baptism we receive through Jesus. What struck me is the verse 17:  “For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel.”  This is the part that struck a chord with me: “not with wisdom or eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.” (NIV)I also do not speak with eloquence or power.  My hope is to speak of what God has done for me and for you in a way the is a reflection of the simple man that I am.  The gospel is not complicated, salvation is not complicated.  I write of what God has done for me any you.I wrote the following poem for God’s Rhyme.WEAKNESS "But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, my power is made perfect in weakness,"  2 Corinthians, 12:9, NIV Paul, the evangelist, an imperfect man, blinded with insight by the perfect Son,who lost his strength and became weak, thus glorifying the Holy Three in One. I have tried to live with the lie,to never give in before I die.I have seen the meek always so weakand wondered why they would not cry. No, always a smiletraveling every milewith heads held highand never shy while I put too much stockin thinking I was a rockuntil others saw the badand what I never had. Then one day the sky was bluer, each and everything looked newer. It was as if my very eyeshad been shut to the world's lies. I was never strong, not even for very long. There was too much wrong,it was such a sad song. Like a newborn babyI cried for each new breath, never wanting to rest, realizing that maybe . . .  No, knowing that I am not perfect, looking, the mirror did reflect. There is no strength in my sin,the race alone I could never win. I am a sinner,my life a loss, but it has been reclaimed for meby the grace of God, a death on the cross. Through death and resurrectionI am a new creation.Accepting His forgiveness,to the world I can witness. Made in God's image, molded in clay . . . yes, in God's imagethroughout every age,it is to Him that we pray. We knew us before we were, He knows us today,He knows us tomorrow, and still He loves us. To follow His Sonwe must lose the ways, the ways of this world, the lies of the days. And when we accomplish that, the world will consider us weak. But know that God is with us,so who can be against us? It is then that the slings and arrows, the sticks and stones, the broken bones, the sorrows that no one will borrow,in this race we know His grace. When we let in Christ's power,we will no longer cower, because He is God's Sonand that is sufficient. "Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly aboutmy weakness, so that Christ's power may rest in me.  That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weakness,
19, 2-9 SHOWNOTES & COPYRIGHTS (Revised from 18, 2-18), (typo corrections 8/21/21)All of today’s poems were inspired by the writings of the Apostle Paul.Paul was a Jewish Pharisee who, as such, persecuted Christians. From the Book of Acts Chapere 9:9 Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest 2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. 3 As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”  5 “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.  “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. 6 “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”  7 The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone. 8 Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. 9 For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.  10 In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord called to him in a vision, “Ananias!” “Yes, Lord,” he answered.  11 The Lord told him, “Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying. 12 In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.”  13 “Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem. 14 And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.”  15 But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. 16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”  17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, 19 and after taking some food, he regained his strength.  (NIV)ONE THOUGHT BECAME ANOTHER (Living In God’s Rhyme, Pg. 75) He who spoke creation into existence By his word was one with God. Watching God’s creation from HeavenAs man strayed he answered God’s call. Born into his creation he became man.As one of us he did liveThat he might show the way.To those he loves, his live he did give. From the beginning he was a blessingTo all of creation, especially man. Before the beginning, beyond the endIn Jesus we have found more than a friend. We have found a SaviorWho overcomes our behavior. This man Jesus as God,By his life he has saved us. So we give thanks and praise For the life God did raiseFor the lives Jesus did saveThrough the life he gave. We now have the hope beyond our livesThat it is by God’s saving grace we do striveTo honor and praise the Almighty GodAnd the Savior Son he does...

72,8-2, SHOW  NOTES & COPYRIGHTS  (Scheduled 9/1/2022)Today we are going to talk about taking up our cross and following Jesus.  I was given a wooden cross that gave me the inspiration for today’s podcast. We’ll start with three times in The Bible Jesus tells those He is with to do this.Matthew 16:24-26 NKJV, Jesus is with His disciples after feeding the four thousand.24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?Mark 8:35 NKJV, Jesus and His disciples were at a house in Capernaum. When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.Luke 9:23 NKJV, Jesus is with His disciples after feeding the five thousand. Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.THE CROSS OF JESUSHow do we react to the cross?Yes, there is death and loss. And beyond in our strifeThere is a promise – eternal life. The Son of man, living as one of us.The Son of God, the God/man JesusShowed the wayAs He did prayOn that fateful nightWhen good an evil did fight. His prayer:“Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”(Luke 22:42, NKJV)Dying for the sins of others,His sisters and brothers,He gave of HimselfFor our Heavenly wealth. No, not money or fame.Nor words that do not rhyme. It was for the forgiveness of our sinSo forever we might live with Him.We must also commit to the cross.Overcoming sin is not a loss. No, we take up our cross for gainKnowing God’s protection always remains.Jesus said, “Take up you cross and follow me.”On that fateful day, He took up His cross for all to see.Taking up our cross we follow Jesus. We die to self in absolute surrender. We will lose the live we lived on this earth,We will follow as Jesus walkedAnd greet others as He talked. We will find our Heavenly worth.      (tcarter, 8/19/2022)Discussion:I would like to follow this with the Armor of God.  As we take up our cross and follow Jesus, I believe it helps to also put on the armor of god, so we are able to stand against the forces of evil.  I have no poem for this, I am just going to read the verses from the Bible.Ephesians 6:10-20, NKJV, 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [a]wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [b]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked...

The Gift of Faith

The Gift of Faith

2022-08-1154:40

69, 7-9, SHOW  NOTES & COPYRIGHTS,  Today we are going to read poems and discus where faith leads us.  All of the poems are from Living In God’s Rhyme.THE GENTLENESS OF FAITH (pg. 125)Our faith is a reflectionThat upon recollectionBy those whose lives we passed. Will see a love that lasts. Our faith is not quarrelsome,We speak in gentle tonesTo those who do not know the SonSo they see the love he has shown. His spirit may raise our voice,Though never in anger, but in joyful songOf a love that will make eyes moistAs the lost find that for which they do long.Love is gentle in its forgivingAs shown by how we were living,That as Christ redeemed us at the crossSo now we may live without the loss,The loss of,The love of his promise,The gift of his grace,That with Christ we will riseWhen his call will end our race. For God so loved us he gave his only SonSo we could join him and be the onesTo share,To care,To be there,AnywhereHe calls,Standing tallSo others hearThere is no fearIn God’s embraceAs the world we face.Without love for others,For our sisters and brothers,Our faith is but mist in the air.So how to the lost do we share?Pray that our faith leaves no questionOf who God is and who we are in him.May the gentle love of GodBe the gentleness of our faith.Reflection on The Gentleness of FaithI was led, or more likely I meandered, through four books before getting the inspiration for this poem.  It came from 2 Timothy 2:24.  “And the Lords servant must not be quarrelsomeBut must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.” (NIV)Discussion: HIS WORD MAY IT LEAD US (pg. 63)Matthew, Mark Luke and John,Paul, Peter, Timothy and Jude,Books and letters written To show us the way to God’s love,The love of his sacrifice,The love of his grace,The love he has for us,The human race.Jesus said,Believe,Be baptizedAnd spread the Gospel. We should not only pray,Pray every day,For those who have not heardHis mighty saving word.We should speakSo that we reachThose souls we knowOf the gift we have receivedSo they will not be deceived. We need to shoutTo the world aboutThat Jesus saves,He is what God gaveSo the end will be better,So it will not be bitter. After ThoughtsAs believers we can meet in clustersSo that faith and desire we can musterThat as we leave the roomWe do not have a sense of doomBut the faith to share,Share that we care,That others hearWhat we hold dearTo our heartsSo they may startTo see what they can beThat when with JesusThey will be free.Discussion:THE RHYME OF GOD, THE RHYME OF ME (pg. 34)There may be no rhymesAs in other times. But it is not that the LordHas struck a lost chord.(if he did it would be sungas every church bell was rung)His rhyme is his word,The scriptures we readThrough which he plants the seed,With hope that we have heard. It is through his graceThat we see his faceIn those we meetAnd those we greet. If we believe,In us lives his rhymeForever in time.He will not deceive. Then I decided to...
67, 7-8, SHOW  NOTES & COPYRIGHTS,  (8/4/2022)Today:Christian faith and the world view have been at odds since the time of Jesus’ resurrection.  I am using the word faith instead of religion because faith is from God not religion without the reforms man has instituted into religion.  We Christians must be able to separate the word of God from the words of man.  To do so we, will be led to pray to God our Father, the Creator. We must be ready to face and live in this world which . . . this world which does not like us.  Sorry. I’m trying not to let words get the worst of me before we start reading.  But as the world is against us, God is for us. And by His grace we can run the race before us and cross the finish line that those of the world are unaware of.We’ll start with poems from God Still Rhymes.SHELTER FROM THE STORM (PG. 83)Who will give us shelteras we suffer and swelterfrom the impeding heatof the city street?Who will in our lives so tornshelter us from the storm, from the pouring rains, from the winds of pain? Some do not liketo consider God’s wrathas out they strikealong their earthly path. His wordon our path, where it leadsdo we heed, heed his word, have we heard?Do we careas we starenever knowingwhat we are sowing?Do we live among the herd,do we ignore his wordlooking for treasureand earthly pleasure? There are so manywho refuse to hear,to look in the mirror.Joy there isn’t any. They do not knowthe seeds they sowwill always growdeath in the weeds. There are oncoming storm cloudsas the world shoutsnot knowing the painof the oncoming rain,Not knowing the wrathbecause of their path, not knowing, having never heard.Jesus has calmed the stormy seas, has rescued those in fear and need. And through his sacrifice for our sinhe calmed God’s wrath for those who believe.Discussion:Yes, I like Bob Dylan and have at times tried to write like him.  This shelter from the storm is completely different than the one he wrote with the same title.  They are like faith and the world.Another from God Still Rhymes, pg. 85BORN THEN SCORNEDInto this life you were bornSo that you might be scorned.Never seeing your worthWhile on this earth,Though seeing the torn veil,Not knowing that you would prevail.(John 11:45)Jesus threatens the comfort of our livesJust as he threatened the Pharisee’s lies. For that he would die.Did they, do we know why?The Messiah, the Son of God,For that and all he saidThey wanted him dead. The world hasn’t changed. He who controls rules. The law, did it have the clues? Not for the ruling fewWho believed they knew. But what did they know? What seeds did they sow?Leading the lost sheep astray,Did they ever ask or pray?Today,What do we say?Do we ever prayThat we not beLed astray,But findThe WayThe Truth,And the Life? Please pray that your life can be more than you see at the beginning of the day.Pray that your life may be changed, priorities rearranged,That all you say, that all you do, is not for you aloneBut for...

Tim Carter sees God everywhere, even in the most difficult of times, reminding us that God is present in all moments of life."I will let God give to me his all as I hear his call."Tim Carter is a Christian poet and author. He has written two books of Christian poetry, "God's Rhyme: Expressions of Faith" and "Living in God's Rhyme."This is Tim Carter's story...Tim Carter sees God in the good and bad moments of life. He sees God in the smiles of strangers, in the birth of new life, and even in death. He is reminded that God is present everywhere, even in the most difficult of times..In this episode, you will learn the following:1. The power of rhyme in communicating and connecting with God2. The importance of being aware of one's own judgmental tendencies and working to overcome them3. The ways that God shows himself to us in everyday life, both in the good and the badResources:[Insert any lead magnet/CTA links from Guest here] Chapter Summaries:1) Tim is Tim's brother Dave's brother tim is Tim and Dave is Dave tim doesn't like to hear himself talk on the podcast, so he changed the name of the podcast to Living in the rhyme from Living in Grief's rhyming.2) Tim and Dave are going to read and discuss some poems that have encouraged them as they have lived them. The first poem is called Trust to Be Led. The second one is called. I removed the log from my eye and I will forgive as I live. Recently, Dave has found that he is becoming a worse driver. There was a glass house on the lake shore between Marysville and St. Clair, Michigan. Dave used to throw stones at people. He used to do that too. But now he's aware of it less and less. He thinks it helps us to be aware of things, so we're less likely to do them.3) This week especially for some reason, I feel his grasp has been a little bit tighter. I find myself asking for forgiveness more often, but I also find myself not doing as many things that I think I need to ask for forgiveness for. Believing and being around and being with Jesus is fun.4) All right. That was a good discussion. There was some good thoughts and questions.5) The rhymes are what got me started. I had to give up a few stances because I could not find a Rhyming word that made sense. I kind of liked where I was going, but because I started rhymes, I knew I needed to finish.6) The first two poems are Christian poetry that aren't published. The second poem is found on page 31, and it's called Your Love. Jesus' love is perfect more than man. Jesus is a loving and righteous deity. He loves people lovingly even when they do wrong things in their lives.7) Tim was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2009. He was treated with radiation in the hospital for three days and 25 low dose radiation treatments. After that. The hospital where he had his treatment at was 45 miles away from home, but they took him there at 7:30 instead of 800. Tim was able to get back to work by 8:30.8) As his faith expanded through church and through reading. He wants to read more of the Old Testament as it gives him more of a desire to read the Bible. He is not a Bible expert, but he has been in groups with discussion about the Old and New Testament.9) Tim and Jesus are running a race two weeks in a row. They were talking about the director of their show earlier. Tim and the director got together this weekend and they can't wait to be with Jesus next week. They are going to do a podcast called Preparation. Dave is in Florida. Paul and Tim are in Michigan. Dave is thankful they are there. Dave has been to the hospital before. Dave and Tim have been hospitalized recently. Tim and Dave will talk about this in the show notes. They will also talk about Tim's and Dave's relationship with...
