Description

This podcast is made by the Women in Law Society at the University of Edinburgh. We hope to showcase great women who work in the field of law and have inspired us to go down the legal pathway and do what we do today. These women will share their interests in the legal field as well as discuss issues around gender. Female students will also take over some episodes to talk about their passions, hoping to inspire fellow students to work on what they love.

What is intersectionality? What is meant by the decolonisation of classrooms and education? How do you apply those concepts in practice or teach them in a classroom? In this incredible discussion, Dr. Radhika Govinda explains the meaning of these concepts, their value as an analytical lens, and the application of these concepts and their methodology in research and in practice.  This episode is a great entry point for anyone who has wondered about the importance of intersectionality, marginality, and decolonisation! Hosted by Teresa Kim and Alexandra Oancea.
What is the difference between sex work and prostitution? Why do we make this distinction? What are the main legal responses to sex work? How do different feminist views consider sex work? To know the answer, be sure to listen to this episode hosted by Lou Guigues on the connections between sex work and feminism.
Can you be the perfect feminist? And what does it actually mean to be a 'feminist'? An engaging introduction to Roxanne Gay's hit book "Bad Feminist" filled with personal annecdotes with Teresa Kim and Alexandra Oancea, two LLM students in International Law and Human Rights at the University of Edinburgh.
