Hello Everybody! Welcome back to The Ginger Bread Man This week I discuss my fantastic stroll through a beautiful pine forest where my son and I even found a mushroom patch! I give an update on my new Kitten and use this as an introductory note to discuss objectification of the things we love, wither that be our kittens or our significant other. Finally I discuss some of the ideas of one of my favorite thinker's "Jiddu Krishnamurti" followed by an excerpt from his writings. I do hope you enjoy! Hello my friends!  This week I would like to discuss addiction in the context of Opiate Addiction. I am choosing to be vulnerable and share some of my personal experiences with dangerous opiates like Heroin and how the use of botanicals like Kratom Leaf changed my life in terms of the functionality of my habits and current needs. Why do people seek these things out, and have done so for centuries? Is sobriety the only option for society? I do believe Kratom's Alkaloids(Mitragynine, Payantheinine, Speciogynine, and 7oh-Mitragynine) have an addictive nature. Like all things there is a spectrum of being and many will tell you Kratom is a far safer alternative to the pharmaceutical options available, including the ones for recovery like suboxone and methadone. Now with the introduction of the most Potent Kratom Alkaloid, 7oh-Mitragynine, and the impending Ban and Scheduling of the substance; what will become of the millions of people utilizing 7oh to abstain from far more dangerous options? Does this loom far more negative attention on the kratom leaf as a whole? This would effect millions. I really aim to be neutral here. There is no black and white. This story and the subtext behind the decisions administratively and legislatively being made really paint a picture of the Present Condition of the United States of America as well. It is never simple. Thankyou so much for being here, I will be forever grateful for you attention and ears. If you would like to discuss anything please email me at thegingerbreadmansdialogues@gmail.com! Have a wonderful day! Hello my Friends!  Todays episode is rather special. I haven't done this in a while, having a friend on that is. We had Jay on the show a few years back, he was wearing a turqoise jumpsuit and an animal on his head. Wild Guy, I am very grateful to know him. And this is a First, because I have never had anyone back on a second time.  We discuss Reality, and Feelings, and Purpose, and Much, Much, More. I hope you enjoy! I know I did You can email me at anytime at thegingerbreadmansdialogues@gmail.com about absolutely anything! Even if you are having a bad day! Hello My Friends! I hope you are doing well, I am so grateful for you showing up this week! On this episode I will be discussing what is Real. This time(old topic) through the lense of our Technology. Of course there are some glaringly obvious Modern Technologies that can be of concern. Yet I argue that our words, and our thoughtful words as well, are the base technology that we use to symbolize, and therefor separate, from the World. Yet we are The World, are we not? My second tool to depict our use of Technology in the world is the most abstract one that we have to date: the String Theory explanation of Quantum physics. One of my favorite topics, though I absolutely do not claim to understand it well.. I am an armchair philosopher not a Rocket Scientist. Lastly I share some of the James Legge translation of the Tao Te Ching, a very archaic and beautiful one. You can email me about absolutely anything at thegingerbreadmansdialogues@gmail.com I hope to see you there! Hello My Friends! Welcome to my Home! This week has been a rollercoaster, I swear I have felt literally every emotion. As always, these are Important Lesson in disguise. What are the connections between Loss and Death, does all Grief have a common backbone. This week I lost one of my best friends, my Kitty Shefu, but I found her! So no sad endings, but I learned alot from the mental process that that involves. I am very grateful to have her back.  We also discuss how Tedium and Boredom in work can be a crucial opportunity for practicing attention. And why I like SMALL amounts of serotenergic drugs, such as psilocybin and LSD, as a Focus and Work Aid. Focus connotating Attention, and a better frame of reference to watch our thoughts.  At the end I share an AMAZING section from David Gurdjieff's book 'Spiritual Realism' on breath-counting techniques, a Ubiquitous practice crossing almost every spiritual, mystic, and religious path. I will be forevor grateful for your time and attention! I hope you have a wonderful Week! You can email me at anytime, about anything, at thegingerbreadmansdialogues@gmail.com  I want to be There for You. Don't forget that. Hello my Friends! Welcome back to the Show! This week I would like to discuss something I found very fascinating: Black Pepper and its primary compound Piperine, and the smaller component found inside: Piperidine. What is the connection between Pain and Pleasure, or Pain relief? Isn't the removal of pain in itself Pleasure? What does biology have to say about it? I delve briefly into the history of Black Pepper and the Opium Wars that eventually occurred. Could there be a connection between Black Pepper and Fentanyl in our Current Opium War?  Then, we will discuss the acidity of Various Tea, and how Tea can help potentiate the effects of other compounds.  Lastly, I share with you some excerpts from the Late and Great Chuang Tzu! I sincerely Hope you enjoy. I will be forever grateful for your attention and ears. Have a wonderful Week! If you would like to talk about anything, absolutely anything, please email me at thegingerbreadmansdialogues@gmail.com I will be Looking Forward To It! Hello my friends! Welcome back to The Ginger Bread Man! I am returning from a pretty hellish illness from these past two weeks, but I feel buoyed up by the loveliness of the holiday season! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!  This week I would like to discuss Neanderthals and the various perspectives we have had about their capacity throughout the years. I share some interesting facts I learned from a Documentary on Netflix: Secrets of the Neanderthals. I use this as a starting point to question Anthropomorphism and Animal Intelligence. After, I read a section from Saint Augustine's Confessions, from the chapter on Memory.  If you would like to email me about anything please reach out at thegingerbreadmansdialogues@gmail.com! Hello my friends! Welcome back to "The Ginger Bread Man"! This week we will be discussing some fun stuff. First, I would like to give you 6 Practical things you can do to help improve your Dream Recall and potentiate Lucid Dreaming. I have never been Lucid in a Dream, Yet.. But I have been able to recall far more dreams with some of these easy practices. All of these Ideas I got from Stanford Researcher Stephen Laberge's book on Lucid Dreaming. Second, I would like to discuss 7OH-Mytragynine. 7OH is an active metabolite of Kratom, Mytragyna Speciosa. This tropical tree from southeast Asia has been gaining popularity in the western world for several years now. I am addicted. Now this isolated compound is hitting the market and I am curioius if there are pros and cons to this situation. I share some newer science on the Pharmacology of Mytragynine and 7OH-Mytragynine. Thankyou so much for your time and ears, I hope you have a great week. If you would like to talk about anything please email me at thegingerbreadmansdialogues@gmail.com. Thankyou! Hello My Friends! Welcome back to "The Ginger Bread Man!" I am so grateful that you are here!  This week we continue on with my obsession with dreams. Lucid dreams in particular. What even is a Lucid Dream? For starts there is a world of difference between 'recalling' a dream and being Aware in one. One is accessible by Memory, the other way by Experience. I cannot overstate enough how fascinating I find this, and one of the most important portals into understanding the Unconscious, or Shadow Self. Towards the end I share some poetry from the Sufi Mystic Rumi.  If you would like to email me about anything, please reach out at thegingerbreadmansdialogues@gmail.com! Hi!! I am so glad to be back, glad to have you hear with me, and glad to be feeling strong and vibrant! This week we will be discussing Ken Wilber's Spectrum of Consciousness and some of the ideas inside. This was a book published by the Theosophical Publishing House. I found this intriguing, being that this group cocreated by Madame Blavatsky has had alot of wackadoodle Ideas in the past. But this book shocked me with it's Groundedness and many applicable ideas. Most notably a wonderful graph I will attempt to depict in todays discussion on "The Ginger Bread Man!" Thankyou for being here, I will be forevor grateful for your attention and ears! Hello my friends! Welcome back to "The Ginger Bread Man"!  This week I would like to discuss the relationship between Attention and Pain. There are other key words that could apply to this subject, such as Obsession and Health Anxiety. For the last year I have had to learn how to live with and accept the uncomfortableness of my vessel. I would like to share with you some of the insight I have had when it comes to redefining where our attention lies and how we perceive our pain. At the end I will share an excerpt from Zen Driving by K.T. Berger. I hope you enjoy!  You can email me at any time at thegingerbreadmansdialogues@gmail.com. Please Do! Hello My Friends! Welcome back to the Show! This week we will be discussing Muscimol, the alkaloid that holds benefits in the Aminita Muscaria, also known as Fly Agaric. With a nasty reputation that doesn't seem to hold water, I find it suspicious that I didn't know more about it, seeing that it grows here in my home state of Colorado. I break down the pharmacology, cultural use, and basic principles of decarboxylation to make the mushroom safer. I hope you enjoy! I really had fun presenting this one.
