In this episode, I sit down with Regina Martin and Lindsay McGlone, two business friends of mine who are very vocal and bold about what we're missing when it comes to inclusion in the online space. I wanted to ask those questions that we hear in spaces that they aren't in – many of us have seen the eye rolls, felt frustrated by the increasing need to consider more and more in our stage lineups and often feel like we're never doing enough. I wanted to talk openly in a non judgemental space about these issues and so that's exactly what we did. In this episode, you'll gain more of an understanding of what's important when it comes to inclusion and why with practical tips on where to start. Lindsay McGlone is an Instagram strategist who helps business owners, get better reach, engagement and make more sales through Instagram. Lindsay boldly states that no one teaches Instagram like they do, adding perspective as an influencer. She teaches creative ways to use the platform that makes you stand out in the crowd, that go beyond vanity metrics. Making sure that Instagram is the place that you create leads, convert and sell time and time again. https://www.instagram.com/rollinwithlindsay_ Regina Martin is a Visibility Strategist and founder of The NETwork, an inclusive community redefining how entrepreneurs connect and get seen. With her signature blend of brand strategy, web design, and confidence coaching, Regina helps visionary founders build magnetic online presences that turn visibility into genuine opportunity. Passionate about making business spaces more authentic and inclusive, she empowers entrepreneurs to shine unapologetically, elevate their digital impact, and grow through connection, confidence, and community. https://www.instagram.com/the_regina_martin This podcast is sponsored by Autm. In today's episode, I want to talk to you about growing a team, and how my business has grown from just me to now having 9 expert employees. Growing a team can be challenging and letting people into your business is scary and I'll be honest, I resisted delegating to others for far too long, but then I realised when you're doing absolutely everything in a business; the book-keeping, the marketing, the admin etc, you have less time for the things that you do best. The only way to have a successful business that prioritises freedom is to have the right people alongside you and for a long time I worried someone else couldn't do all the jobs as well as me - well spoiler alert, they do it better than me because that's their zone of genius. So having shifted my approach to how I recruit to look within my audience and network I've built up an A-team of superstars that's been a real game-changer. What You'll Learn In This Episode: How I recruited my business team and why I've never regretted a single hire. My goals and vision for the team in 2022, including how we plan to shift to a 4 day work week. How we've created an open work culture. Why I value attitude over skillset when hiring. What's been working well for us and what we want to improve in the next 12 months. In this episode, I'm joined by Charlotte Mather, an accredited fulfillment coach and experienced hypnotherapist who helps unfulfilled professionals overcome the fear and doubt present in their lives. Most people don't believe that the fear of success actually exists. How can a person be afraid of being successful? It just doesn't make sense. However, the fear of success is real and it's often not about the success itself but the potential price of success. Charlotte explains how a person's own self-sabotage can keep tripping them up on the road to success. What You'll Learn: - Understanding the fear of success - The causes and impacts of the fear of success - How to overcome self-sabotaging beliefs - The difference between fear of failure and fear of success - How to find and settle on your purpose - Why you need to stop procrastinating - Childhood traumas and how they influence your current success For the most part, the fear of success is about being afraid of achievement, sometimes to the point that people sabotage themselves to limit their chances of success. If you're scared of being successful or the consequences of success, recognising it is step one. Also, understand that it's something that needs to be addressed if you want to do well in life. In today's episode, I am joined by Sara Wisniewski, a visibility coach and mentor to female entrepreneurs. Today we talk about why visibility is important, and what you can do to become more visible in your business. Here's the thing, your business is not all that unique - other people are already doing it and they may even be better than you. So, what can you do to differentiate yourself from the competition? Visibility is the only thing that will make you stand out from the masses, and Sara explains how to increase it. What You'll Learn: - Understanding visibility from a business perspective - How to become more visible in your business - Why it's okay to ask for help - How to overcome self-limiting beliefs - The power of consistency and authenticity when building visibility - Growth and the probability of success Building visibility starts the moment you decide you want to have a business. It can be super scary for some people and that's completely normal. But you need to realise that if you don't show up, you're losing the chance to connect with your ideal audience. Joining me today is Carla Shohet, a Life and Business strategist as well as a fellow anti-bullying campaigner. I brought Carla on today to chat about what to do if you, as an entrepreneur, are being bullied, and not just online but also offline, how that affects your business and what you can do about it. Bullying is at its peak right now, and although entrepreneurs are supposed to have tough skin, it can certainly be overwhelming. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - What bullying is - Why not reacting to bullying can help mitigate its effects - How to deal with online and offline bullying - Carla's THINK acronym for posting online - How to employ empathy when dealing with bullies - Why everybody needs a personal coach - How to protect yourself when bullying goes too far - When and how to have a conversation with a bully It's no secret that most entrepreneurs will feel bullied at least once in their business life. So, rather than talk about it and do nothing about it, what can we do to stop bullying from occurring in our own organisations? What are the best ways for entrepreneurs to deal with bullies who target their businesses? I hope this episode gives you some insights and answers to help you protect yourself and your business. Today I want to talk about 'cancel culture.' And since the conversation would be a little biased if I did it on my own, I have Ange Wakeling, my marketing manager, alongside me to talk about this widely debated topic. Fortunately or unfortunately, no one's immune to cancel culture. It doesn't matter how long ago a person made a seemingly unforgivable mistake or how genuine their apologies are, cancel culture is brutal and it takes no prisoners. But is cancel culture an effective way of holding people accountable, or just a retribution without a chance for redemption? What You'll Learn: - What cancel culture is - The pros and cons of cancel culture - How I overcame a cancellation attempt on my brand - Cancel culture, social status, and its impact on society - Has cancel culture gone too far? - Reputational damage vs. personal opinion Yes, cancel culture makes people pay for their actions but it can be extreme at times. It seems like people get harsh punishments because some other people are willing to go out of their way to hurt others. Hopefully, this conversation will help you figure out what to do when cancel culture comes knocking on your door. Today I'm joined by the fabulous Sarah Aspinall, Founder and Instructor of Breaking Ballet, to discuss one of my favourite topics - being passionate about what we do. We had a fantastic conversation about the challenging but rewarding path of following our dreams and passions. Sarah shared her own story of how she decided to leave her 9 to 5 job as a lawyer to return to ballet, her first love. We also talked about using passion as fuel to run our business, like a magnet to attract clients and as a repellent for failure. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - Who Sarah Aspinall is and why she decided it was about time to pursue her passion - How ballet helped her overcome a few issues when she was a child - Why being passionate about what we do is crucial to run a business - How a simple research can help us approach our business with integrity and help us decide if that is what we really want for ourselves After a traumatic experience in New York for her birthday, Sarah started thinking seriously about how she was living her life. At that time, she was most of the time seated at a desk, feeling she was crushing her body and losing not only her fitness but her inspiration to move. She decided to reconnect with her body and tried all kinds of workouts, but nothing fulfilled her as ballet. She then decided to become a qualified ballet teacher, and after some time, started her business, Breaking Ballet. Today I have the pleasure to interview the CEO and Founder of our brand new sponsor, Perfect Planner Co., Monique Sveinsson. We talked about Perfect Planner's unique products, which I use and love. Monique shared her journey from theatre stage manager to the corporate world, and then founding her own company and becoming an entrepreneur. We go through Monique's impressive experience in show business and the valuable lessons she got from her time there. We also delve into her heartbreaking story of resilience, love and how she found strength in her loved ones. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - Why Monique Sveinsson decided to start Perfect Planner Company - Why network marketing gets a lot of unfair bad press - Monique's story that made her realise how life is too short - How Monique expanded her business and how she helps other companies succeed using her products Monique spent almost 30 years as a theatre stage manager, a job that demands an exceptional level of organisation. The number of moving parts and little details that depended on her was absurd. Then she decided to migrate to network marketing, a home-based business that was the stepping stone into entrepreneurship. Starting Perfect Planner Co. seemed not only the right thing to do, but also the most aligned with who she is. Kelly is an intuitive, inspiring, heart-led Business Leader, Mentor, Author, Speaker and Creator of The Divine Business Code & Divine Alignment. She shared her story of resilience, how she fought for what she believed she deserved, and how powerful it is for her to be in alignment with who she truly is. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - How Kelly Vikings empowers people to discover who they are and build a successful business based on that identity - How growing her business as an estate agent too fast was detrimental to Kelly's entrepreneurial journey - What helped Kelly get back on track and regain control of her life and business - What Kelly's purpose in life is and how she uses her business to accomplish it When Kelly decided to take a risk and start a business, it took off very well and started growing fast. Joining me today is a dear friend Yvonne Bridges. She is a speaker, author, diversity, equity, and inclusion expert, and a champion for ambitious women who want to feel relevant, courageous, fulfilled and strong. In this episode, we talked about Yvonne's journey from a secure position in the corporate world as a VP to taking the leap of faith and starting her own business. Yvonne kindly shared how being diagnosed with cancer and the effects of isolation during the pandemic made her discover one of her fundamental values. She used that discovery to write a book and build an online community of mid-life women who support each other, uplift each other, and hold each other as they move through their own mid-life journey. What You Will In This Episode: - How Yvonne Bridges uses the values she's holding to help other women feel relevant - How powerful it can be to ask ourselves what we are going to stop doing - What are the things that make us feel we are relevant - What we can do if we are not feeling relevant in our lives To Yvonne, relevance is not about having a bunch of money. Relevance is an inside job. It is about knowing we matter and knowing where our power lives. It's about stepping into the arena and standing the rotten tomatoes from the cheap seats, knowing there are people on the balcony who support us and stand with us. Being relevant is also about creating a community of other women who are also relevant. I hope you like numbers, because today, I'll reveal every detail of our last launch. As honesty and transparency are part of our core pillars, I thought it was appropriate to share how much revenue we had, how much we've spent on ads, ambassadors, affiliates, and incentive prizes. I will also take you through the things that worked really well, the ones that didn't, what we've learned from this affiliate launch, the things we are not doing again, and much more. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - Why it is crucial to set objectives for your launch, and what our financial, learning, values, and exposure objectives were for this launch - The four steps in which we structured this launch - Where our more significant revenue come from - The lessons we learned from this launch, and what things we are not doing again in future launches One of the first things we did as a team was to establish the objectives - we sat down and wrote the goals we were aiming for with this launch. Data and metrics are fundamental because they help us see where we did better or not, compared to our last launch. Today, I have the pleasure of welcoming Heather Tingle to the show. She is an award-winning serial entrepreneur, head of three different businesses and a loving mom. She is the founder of Untangled by Tingle, and her expertise in decluttering and hoarding awareness has been featured on BBC Radio Sheffield and for a national charity. She has been a member of The Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers (APDO) since 2016 and she is a Director of Hoarding Disorders UK (North). Heather discovered she was neurodivergent at age 43 after her daughter was diagnosed with autism as well. In this episode, Heather kindly shared details of her everyday life as a person with autism, her struggles at school and how being diagnosed changed her personal and professional life. We talk about the importance of being vulnerable and authentic in our businesses and sharing who we really are. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - How it was for Heather to grow up without knowing she was autistic - Heather's reaction to her diagnosis, and how that affected her life, business and relationship with her team - How being vulnerable and authentic impacts Heather's business - What can be done differently with how young kids are oriented when they get a diagnosis of autism When Heather got diagnosed, lots of things started to make sense in her head about her childhood. She understood she had to stop punishing herself for something she couldn't do, not because she was incapable but because she was different. Getting a better judgment of how her brain works helped focus on her skills and strengths, and that is one of the main reasons her businesses experienced massive growth and success. Today, I'm joined by The Cash Flow Queen, Kylie Anderson. Kylie is an online business strategist who helps highly skilled professionals, coaches and therapists to create their signature programs and stop trading time for money. Her motto is, work less and earn more, whilst making an impact and changing other people's lives. I'm really excited because we're having an open and honest conversation about money. We explore the troubled relationships people have with money, how they talk about it, and how they solve their money issues. We also talk about people's judgment of those who have money and are not afraid of showing it, the taboo around money, and much more. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - How Kylie Anderson helps her clients and what her relationship with money is - The difference between how men and women own being wealthy - Why we should normalise money conversations with our friends - The differences between how men and women think about investing - How to create more channels to talk about money - The lack of integrity around money in the coaching industry The more we embrace money conversations, the more we will take from it. Keeping money as a taboo subject and judging people with money won't help us make any progress. If we can show people that it's possible to make money without being judged, we will cause a massive ripple effect of people knowing and believing they can also make money and have fulfilling lives. As we had the Mental Health Day last week, I thought it was appropriate to talk about business and mental health on the show. Today, we will go through my mental health challenges and how I struggled with them, especially at the beginning of my journey in this industry. Today's episode is about creating a compassionate look towards others because we never know what is going on in their lives. It is also an optimistic look at things, a call to be grateful even when it looks there is nothing to be thankful for. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - Why it is essential to address and deal with our challenges and triggers to our mental health issues - What strategies we can use to get our business ready to function without us - The discovery I made about my health in 2019 that would change my world - What are the things the chronic disease taught me to be grateful for I believe that normalising conversations about mental or physical health issues is a good way of showing people that, even while facing massive challenges, things can be done, a business can thrive, and an entrepreneur can be successful. Instead of pretending life is perfect, we can teach strategies to organise a business so that it doesn't require our presence 24/7. Stacey has over 25 years of communication experience working with giants like JP Morgan, Coca Cola, and Disney, among many others. She is also the owner of The Modern Storyteller and Host of the P.S. Club. Our conversation revolves around how Stacey's life changed when she found her husband dead in the living room, only 62 days after getting married. We talk about the grief stages she went through, her unfulfilling progress in the corporate world, and the moment she decided to stop being a widow to take a leap of faith and become an entrepreneur. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - Who Stacey MaCdonald is and what storytelling means to her - How she navigated her grief, and why she decided to make radical changes in her life - Why transparency and authenticity is crucial when we talk to our audience - What are the things we should focus on to deal with adversity After losing her husband, Stacey took a massive promotion, a dream job 500 miles away. She ended up hating that job, but it made her realise that wasn't what she wanted for her life. Stacey decided she wouldn't be someone else's Communications Manager anymore. She would take a leap of faith and start doing what she loves - helping people tell their own stories. My guest on the show today is Niki Kinsella, a Reiki master, yoga teacher, meditation coach, best-selling author of "The Feminine Energy Guide," shamanic healer, QHEH teacher trainer, and intuitive tarot reader. Niki is a very spiritual person, whereas I'm much more down to the strategy side. However, what Niki says makes a lot of sense to me. She has a scientific approach to spirituality, and I believe it is what we can learn from others that matters, regardless of our beliefs or faith systems. In this episode, Niki talks about the traumatic childhood that led her to develop people-pleasing traits and become a bully-beacon. We go through her healing journey and her decision to dedicate her life to helping others. We also talk about the misconception about spirituality in the coaching business, narcissistic abuse, and much more. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - How Niki Kinsella empowers other people and helps them raise their self-awareness - How Nikk turned into a people-pleaser and what challenges it brought into her life - Why people who suffered abuse during their childhood tend to attract bullies to their lives - How Niki's healing journey began and what made her decide to start helping others One of Niki's work pillars is raising self-awareness. She believes that part of the healing process is to ask ourselves about what we want, what we like to do, what we love, and then do that. To Niki, big changes don't necessarily have to be big; they must feel big to us. Affiliate launches is a controversial topic. Some people believe there is something obscure about them, and at the same time there is this belief that they don't require a lot of work. None of this is true. Today I've decided to record another episode on affiliate launches to clarify some of the misconceptions around them, offer some examples of how we do them, and the benefits we can get from doing them correctly. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - What precisely is an affiliate launch - Why my first experience with affiliate launches didn't work - The main three things we base our affiliate launches on and the impact we are already making in the industry - The one thing we are still working on within our affiliate launches - Three reasons why I believe affiliate launches are great Aligning our affiliate launches with integrity caused a massive impact. We had great revenue in the first launch and it multiplied every time we launched again. Our strategy was so successful that I saw several colleagues copying what we did. Instead of getting mad, it has made me happy because I'm changing the industry through one of my core values. In this show, we will cover what an Operations Manager does, why you need them, and what it is like being one. In addition, we will break down the characteristics you should look for in an Operation Manager for your business and how to know if you really need one. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - Who Zoe is, and what is her role in my company - How Zoe decided to stop running her own business and start working with me - What are the things every Operations Manager should have - Why it is vital to find an Operations Manager who shares your core values - Why it is crucial to find an Operations Manager who is strong and confident enough to challenge you An Operations Manager is not something you'll need in the first years of your business. But once you are an established business and you really need one, you should look for an Operations Manager who is capable of solving issues the same way you would and, at the same time, someone who doesn't want to be in the spotlight. I've got many messages from the community asking me how I manage to be everywhere, do everything, and spend quality time with my family, so we will talk about time today. In this episode, we will differentiate being busy from being productive, we will discuss the dangers of comparing ourselves with others, and I will share a few tips to claw back some of our time. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - Do we really have the same 24 hours that Beyonce has? - The difference between being busy and being productive, and how can we use our time more efficiently - Why comparing ourselves with other entrepreneurs is one of the worst things we can do - How time blocking and batching can save us lots of precious hours One of the trickiest parts of running a business is to be our own bosses. The reality is that a part of having a business is understanding that we might have to do things that are not fun to do in order to make money. In the future, we might be able to outsource those tasks to someone else, but at least initially, we'll have to do them whether we like it or not. Today, I'm joined by a dear friend and brilliant entrepreneur, Abigail Horne. She is the Founder and Company Owner of Authors & Co, Co-Founder and Business Strategist of Female Success Network, Company Director at The Lifestyle Guru Ltd, and Author of the bestselling book "Brand Yourself Bestseller." In this episode, Abi helps us raise a controversial topic - boundaries. We will analyse why having more robust and better boundaries is key to having a successful business. We will share personal experiences and issues we had in our companies with boundaries, and explain what we mean when we say that the client is not always right. We also talk about the blackmailing mentality from some clients, and why the best thing to do is avoid "giving algorithms" to internet drama. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - Why how we establish boundaries is intimately linked with our success in business - What is the best way to deal with clients badmouthing us online - Why the customer is not always right - Is it true that the more we give to the client, the more they want? - What are the strategic attacks on our business before a launch, and what is the best way to deal with them When I started my business, every mean comment about me from a customer triggered me. With time, I've learned that people will say nasty things about me regardless of their experience of working with me, so there is no point worrying about it. That is one more reason why we must have our boundaries in place. We shouldn't be afraid of saying no to clients because of what they can say about us online - sometimes they will do it anyway. Loved this episode.
This podcast from Lisa Johnson contains so many useful tips and details. If you've listened to Lisa on other podcasts its easy to see her as a one trick pony, who says 'create passive income' over and over again. But this podcast is genuinely gold, and much more varied and useful
Exciting!!!!!
