First and foremost just a group of good friends hanging out and talking movies. From new releases to classics and everything in between. It's our Halloween episode! After all, what's scarier than a musical genius with no impulse control? Eric and Scott speaking as the definitive authorities on the world of Classical Music break down the years most hyped movie. Oh and Highlander too, can't forget about that.

To quote 'In God's Country' from the seminal 1987 record Joshua Tree by U2. "Naked flame / She stands with a naked flame / I stand with the sons of Cain / Burned by the fire of love / Burned by the fire of love." Eric and Scott talk 2022's God's Country by Julian Higgins. Also, Bono rules.

A24 Tier List

A24 Tier List

2022-09-3001:51:46

***DISCLAIMER*** Neither Eric or Scott have seen all 119 A24 movies. I'm guessing you ain't either. In order to do this we took the 36 titles Scott has seen and the 32 Eric has seen and cross referenced to create a list that covers us both. This is just for fun, please don't get all bent out of shape over what we rank and where we rank it. Life's too short, like what you like, love what you love. Thanks for listening!

We LOVE a Whodunnit here at Movies Last Night. Tom George directs Sam Rockwell and Saoirse Ronan in a 50's set British crime caper. Join Zach, Scott and Jason as we have a great time talking about this years coziest movie. Perhaps the biggest mystery of all is strange case of Jason's microphone! Apologies in advance, thankfully we fixed the issue and everything gets back to normal quickly.

I'll never forget my first apartment. Damp, cold and falling apart. It has nothing on Robert's luxurious basement apartment, let alone his wonderful new roommates. I'm joking. Not for the feint of heart, Eric and Scott dive into Owen Kline's funny, poignant and downright repulsive 'Funny Pages'. Join us for a brief history lesson on the world of Underground Comic Books courtesy of our old friend Wikipedia and some laughs along the way. The real sleeper hit of A24's 2022 catalog is here.
I want to go to the World's Fair, I want to go to the World's Fair, I want to go to the World's Fair. All music by Sigliosi. Art by Macalya Lankford.
This week Eric, Zach and Scott have a brief chat about A24's new teen thriller Bodies Bodies Bodies. In rare form this episode is spoiler free, don't thank us... thank my internet for going down mid episode! Did the gang see through the hype? Or is this the latest in a long line of A24 bangers? A follow up episode breaking things down will be coming soon! Art by Macayla Lankford, Music by Incorporated. https://www.macaylalankford.com
The one and only Elliott Neece makes his long awaited return to the show for an in person, long-form discussion with Scott and Chris. Elliott chose two Movies to discuss, Luca Guagagnino's 2018 absolute masterpiece reimagining of 'Suspiria' and the less controversial but still difficult 'Goodnight Mommy' by Veronika Franz & Severin Fiala. This is our full unedited conversation. We hope you enjoy! Art by Macalya Lankford & Scott Anderson. Music by Incorporated.

This week we have a full house at MLN. Daniel returns to join Eric, Zach, Chris and Scott to talk about Jordan Peele's new movie 'Nope'. Also on this episode we decide to finally put the nail in our credentials as podcast hosts by playing our first ever game of movie trivia. Oh Boy. Perhaps you'll leave us for ever? It certainly made me laugh though. All new art by the incredibly talented (@feralxfox) Macayla Lankford https://www.macaylalankford.com and music for this episode by Incorporated.
Just in the nick of time. Apologies for the slightly late posting but this episode took a long time to record and a long time to edit! So here it is, the conclusion to our epic Tarantino Tier List. Will Zach, Eric and Scott come to any consensus at all on Kill Bill 2? Is Death Proof any good? Well you're going to have to press play to find out! Side Note: This is just our opinion, we all love movies, some more than others. Don't forget it's totally fine to disagree with us, and Film is a subjective experience. If you have beef, send us a voicemail! Get involved and share your thoughts! Just be cool man. Music by Heartthrob, Art by Scott Anderson.
Hold your horses... before we get into doing our first ever 'Tier List' we had to get our thoughts on Thor Love & Thunder out of the way. So once we finish our reactions to the MCU's latest cash cow the lads get into a tier list for the divisive but nonetheless infamous Quentin Tarantino. Here is a few things to note, SPOILERS out of the gate for Thor, and since we didn't predict how long we'd go and the fact that my laptop would die whilst recording, this is part one of a two part opus. Expect part two next week!  In typical Tarantino fashion :) Music by Heartthrob, Art by Scott Anderson
Cha Cha Real Smooth

Cha Cha Real Smooth

2022-07-1401:45:00

Eric and Scott are quite clearly Soul Mates, so it's perfectly fitting the original MLN crew team up to talk about Cooper Raiff's superlative sophomore movie Cha Cha Real Smooth. If ever there was time the world needed life advice from two white straight dudes... well actually. Regardless, we talk love, life, and being smitten. We hope you listen along! Art by Scott Anderson, Music by Heartthrob.
