In this episode from the archives, we reassess the legend that is Tyra Banks, who has resurfaced in the tabloids yet again thanks to a new Netflix special dissecting the America's Next Top Model era. From being a barrier-breaking model to creating one of the first reality television shows of our time, Tyra has always seemed on top of her game. Until you take a closer look at her long history of problematic behaviour, and the way her shows have always schlepped racism, homophobia and body-shaming, and how she has long exploited those who work for her. In other words: she's messy, and has always been.

This week, Sarah is joined by acclaimed historian Joanne Paul to discuss one of the biggest sex scandals of all time, Henry VIII's first divorce, and his subsequent remarriage to one of the most interesting women in history. That's right, in the 16th Century, Henry VIII wanted a son, and he wanted to marry his crush, the sexy and smart Anne Boleyn. But in order to do that, he had to leave his first wife, Queen Catherine. What ensued was some of the wildest - and most disturbing - gossip the world has ever known. From the creation of a new religion to beheading one's own wife, this saga boasts more drama than The Real Housewives and Vanderpump Rules put together. By the end of the episode, you'll understand why Sarah refers to Anne Boleyn as "her personal Roman Empire."

This week, we are tackling one of the most upsetting scandals of the century. That's right, Sadaf is summarizing and synthesizing the most pertinent facts about one of the worst sexual predators in American history, Jeffrey Epstein. From what actually took place on Epstein's horrifying Island of debauchery to his associations with big names like Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and Bill Gates, we assess what this conspiracy reveals about the disposable way the world still sees girls and women, and whether there can ever be real justice for the victims of Epstein and his associates... 📚 For further reading:– The Talented Mr. Epstein, Vanity Fair 2003– jmail.word: For easy Epstein Files scanning– Epstein's Coney Island, Daily Beast 2025– What We Know About Jeffrey Epstein’s Childhood, Forward 2019 – Jeffrey Epstein: International Money Man of Mystery, New York Magazine 2002– Jeffrey Epstein Taught at Dalton: His Behaviour Was Noticed, New York Times 2019– Poor, Smart, And Desperate To Be Rich, The Miami Herald 2019– Epstein Victim Lawyer Gloria Allred Drops Shock Stat – FBI Records: The Vault🎧 A few recent episodes we think you might like:– Diddy's downfall and what his trial says about Hollywood– Why is the Beckham family fighting?– How Winona Ryder was almost banished from Hollywood🔗 Once you're done listening, why not subscribe to our Patreon here? This week, we’re diving deep into The Real Housewives as one of the most revealing pop-culture franchises of the past 20 years. While Sarah is away this week, Sadaf is joined by Housewives expert Laura Hensley (creator of the That’s My Opinion! newsletter) to break down why we’re obsessed. We get into how this empire kicked off, the beloved format from the taglines to reunions, the most memorable moments and breakout stars, and, of course, all the criticism: the alcohol consumption, the racial ickiness, the rampant crime. This week, we continue with the Beckham family drama, after Brooklyn published a jaw-dropping six-page Instagram statement accusing his mother, Victoria , of humiliating him at his wedding. Is this feud salvageable or officially beyond repair? Then, we turn to the latest round of cruel fat-shaming aimed at journalist and filmmaker Keely Shaye Smith, Pierce Brosnan’s wife of more than two decades. In the era of Ozempic, why does the internet still seem personally offended by happy, long-married couples? The centrepiece of our episode, however, is the increasingly explosive legal saga between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. We unpack her sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit, his $400-million countersuit, and the leaked text messages revealed during discovery, which feature none other than Taylor Swift.📚 For further reading:Vogue's deep dive on Nicola Peltz's wedding gownLeaked texts from Lively-Baldoni case; Jenny Slate's deposition🎧 A few recent episodes we think you might like:— Why is the Beckham family fighting?— How Winona Ryder was almost banished from Hollywood— Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard: Inside Hollywood’s most overshared marriage🔗 Once you're done listening, why not subscribe to our Patreon here? Amanda Seyfried is, in a low-key way, one of the most recognizable stars in the world. From blockbuster musicals like Mama Mia! and Les Mis, to thrillers like The Housemaid, who hasn't seen Amanda in something? Despite her fame, she has managed to stay largely scandal-free; however, that doesn't mean she hasn't done some edgy things. This week, we explore the times she narrowly escaped the sort of cheating scandals that take down countless other female celebrities, from Angelina Jolie to Olivia Munn. Did you know some people believe Amanda may have broken up her husband's first marriage? Neither does anyone else. In this special revisited episode, we go back to 1974, discussing the time a lone gunman attempted to kidnap 23-year-old Princess Anne (yes, we know she's one of your favourite characters on The Crown). While the media coverage of this story at the time emphasized the valour of the men who helped rescue Anne, the reality is that the princess played an instrumental role in saving herself. We chat about why it took Anne so long to share her truth. This week, we dive into the saga of Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, the Hollywood couple who went from beloved and relatable to the internet’s favourite example of chronic oversharing. We trace their early careers — her star turns in Veronica Mars, Frozen, and The Good Place, and his evolution from actor to podcasting "self-help" personality — before unpacking how their marriage slowly became a full-blown brand. From publicized fights to parenting confessions, to the viral “we don’t bathe our kids” moment, to the steady creep of their relationship into #spon content, we explore how transparency shifted into TMI and why people now find them insufferable. Ultimately, we examine what their arc reveals about the rise and fall of the “relatable celebrity,” and why the internet’s love for a couple can curdle just as fast as it formed.
