They talk about all sorts of things, especially nicholas winding refn's 2013 film, only god forgives starring ryan gosling, which they think, in their opinion anyway is "great." So. they also talk about other things such as the ever evolving cinematic landscape and other fun stuff. enjoy.
“Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time.”     ―       Steven Wright They're back at it again!
One of em can't sleep, one of em's car broke down, they ramble and rant about insomnia, the economy, the future and so on. They liked Crimes of the future a lot and thought 42nd Street was okay except for the dance sequences. They're doing their best, they're going through a rough time!
Here it is, by popular demand, a discussion on Stanley Kubrick's 199999999 masterpiece, please enjoy, the boys get deep into monogamy and relationships and other things, I assume.
Gummo gummo gummo gummo, We are sending signed photographs of the two hosts to every listener, free of charge! Please spread brand awareness of movies are dead far and wide. Thank you and good luck.
It's finally here, everyone's been askin', they do it and woo it is something.
Lars "Mars Bars" Von Trier is on the loose again. If seen in public please report him to the nearest cop or if no police officer is available, attempt to make a citizen's arrest. If he is left to roam free, he will try to make more films. Please be aware, he is armed, out of control and is a danger to cinema at large. Alternately, listen to these two knuckleheads discuss the house that jack built, an ignominious signpost of so called "art" cinema. Well maybe movies really are dead but maybe everything that dies, someday comes back. So put your makeup on, fix your hair up and meet us at a podcast listening app near you.
Listeners, you may wonder who writes these little episode descriptions and I feel like I should introduced myself. I am Klaus Androwjski, the (under-appreciated) producer of this here podcast. I had to take a little sabbatical from my position here as the two hosts had become so overbearing and borderline abusive that I needed a little break. They lured me back with promises of fame and fortune which have so been completely unfulfilled. So. Hooray for me. Anyway. Halloween is approaching and here is the first spooky episode that will be released over the next twelve or whatever days that will get you prepared for the third best holiday of the year.
Everybody has been asking for it and now here it is: A discussion of the The Searchers by John Ford. The two dudes try to figure out what this America thing is really about and wind up pretty much right back where they started but they got some opinions on other stuff too. Opinions you should listen to because they're good and insightful. So there. There it is. Please, please listen.
love, is it real? Some people think so. Is this a movie about people in love? Sort of. Things are confusing these days. But nicky and boriss are trying to figure it out. They love Cassavetes but if they were honest with themselves, they could finally admit that John cassavetes would have loathed both of them for being corporate sellouts. A lot of dreaming, not a lot of doing. And that's just not the Cassavetes way. They still love him though and grovel at ol johnny's altar every day of the dead. but Anyway listen here to the two of them discuss this seminal 1971 film and some other things along the way. Enjoy, huh!
Please listen, if we don't get better ratings they're gonna send their money collectors after us, they're gonna break our legs and then take our cars, and then and then our homes! Do you want that to happen to us? We love movies, we aren't made for real life! We owe so much money, we had no idea a podcast was this expensive..,,. Help!! aaaahghghaaaa
they're back but they were never really gone just busy with life but here they are again, we know you missed them and they missed you too but nothing to fear, they're back again and they're ready to talk movies, they're keeping it fun, light and informative. These guys know their stuff, they're movie buffs, they're fiends for movies, what a thing huh?
These two knuckleheads get even more mellow, can you believe it? They chill out while discussing Valley Girl, throwing ideas back and forth, conversing about the meaning of Cage, the Valley, the 80s and so on. Tune in and drop out, right? Oops wrong decade but y'know it kinda does apply to our modern mores, doesn't it?
oooooh they go off on a tangent or two on this one, get lost in the weeds, is that the right expression? But the main focus is on Karyn Kusama's Destroyer which these two knuckleheads think is under-appreciated so, yeah. If you like listening to a couple of mellow dudes talk film then this is the episode for you!
The Matrix review!!

The Matrix review!!

2021-07-1201:01:05

They talk about the .......Matrix! Which they love but they get off track for a bit and start to sound like crotchety old men before bringing it back to the topic at hand which is, of course, how great The Matrix is. But they cover a lot of ground here and most of it is interesting so enjoy, listen and recommend.
These two lose their minds over Lina Wertmüller's Seven Beauties (1975) Why don't people talk about this movie?! It's GREAT! WE GUARANTEE it. well, it's not for everybody but give it a chance anyway! Please. Please?
los chicos get crazy about Brian de Palma's Scarface. They talk pacino and stone and pfeiffer and margolis. And just why isn't there another de Palma lurking out there in this generation of filmmakers making thrillers?
The shortest episode you'll ever hear us do!! We go through the Fellini boxset by Criterion! Get it!! Watch And the Ship Sails On!
They go crazy over Smooth Talk, a stunning piece of work from 1985 starring Laura Dern and Treat Williams based on a story by Joyce Carol Oates!!
