What is it like to grow up in the land of righthand pointbreaks, ya might want to know? Charlotte De Rochecouste was born and bred close to some of the best waves on the planet. First in Casablanca, then around the points of Taghazout, Cha is a staple in the lineup. Growing up around some of the best Moroccan surfers, she has not only carved her own path in surfing, but has also created a space for others to do the same. Speaking of her latest venture, Charlotte takes us on a tour of her surf lodge in the heart of Tamraght. She emphasizes the importance of friendships and the community in surfing, and how her lodge reflects that. Tune in as Charlotte talks about competing for waves with the boys, to sweeping floors and running her own gig.
We owe you this one. After a few months off, the mic, we return with the Aftermath of Kale Brock's first ever international Surfer's Roadmap retreat in the Maldives. In the summer we send him and a few lucky surfers to Ayada in the Maldives for an intense week of surf coaching. 7 guests, 7 days, 70000 hours of surfing (I suck at math).
Surfing is hard. We’ve all experienced the feeling of being stuck, or worse, going backwards in our surfing. Unfortunately, getting better at surfing often occur as a linear progression. We often feel it gets worse before we get better and then we plateau… sometimes for decades! But what if we tell you that there's a way to fast-track your surfing and make guaranteed progress in just seven days? And it gets better! You'll be able to take your surfing to the next level under the watchful eyes of one of the most dedicated and progressive surf coaches out there, surrounded by crystal clear water, paradise feels and world-class waves in one of the most beautiful corners in the world!
This is a really special episode as we go back in time exploring a time when the Maldives were mostly unknown to the rest of the world. It took two Australians, a mad captain, a trip to South Africa and a ship running into a reef passage somewhere in the Indian Ocean to put the Maldives on the map as a surf destination. Ian is a storyteller! And the stories he has are plentiful!
We still owe you the follow-up from our chat with WSL judge Joao Maya on the progression of the sport and on how you can get better by riding the right equipment
After 2 years in the works, we are finally ready to share a piece of tech that will change the way you experience surf & snow travels forever. Tune in to our latest podcast episode with our CEO Tim Heising spilling the goods.

Traveling with boards can be a hassle and/or a liability for your wallet. If you are a board nerd like some of us, you know the feeling of what we're about to say, "too many boards, not enough space in the board bag." Before every trip, we are faced with the same dilemma; which boards should I bring AND, more importantly, WHY should I bring them?! It's science! And Sam Zubevich, Brand Manager of JS Industries, will tell you everything there's to know about boards, so packing for your next surf trip will be an absolute piece of cake!
We have compiled a collection of the most frequent and out-there questions you guys had over the years and brought our Head of Sales, Martin Jenner into the mix to answer them all!
Back due to popular demand! We're trying to answer the 1 Billion Dollar question; What will the future hold for all of us and our travels? Will the vaccine solve everything? Are we going to welcome a new era of traveling? Will it be the end of traveling as we know it? This, and much more we'll discuss in our latest take on travel.
This episode is was recorded during a recent LUEX trip, visiting partners and operators in the Maldives. Having to jump through a few logistical hoops ourselves, we figured what better topic to discuss than the current state of travel. This is the first of a two-episode series with a follow-up conversation on the future of traveling dropping soon. Tim, our CEO and LUEX's Head of Sales Martin are discussing, dissecting and contemplating what the current state of traveling really is. Tune in to get the lowdown on everything there's to know if you wanna travel right now!
It was March 2016. An up-and-coming pro starting to turn heads on the WQS paddles out at his local beachie in Kiama, New South Wales, Australia. What follows next will change the lives of a few people forever. Brett Connellan's story is insane. Attacked by a shark, rescued by one of his best mates, and airlifted to a nearby hospital, Brett is only at the beginning of his way back. A journey of redemption. Of perseverance and resilience. Hit with the words, "you might never be able to walk again", Brett made a choice. A choice to fight. A choice to one day surf the exact same beach again where it all started. A choice to not wanting to be defined by what happened but rather by what happened next. This is Brett's story. This is Brett Connellan's journey from pain to fame and the beauty of second chances.
