Absolom is a perfect picture of the outcome of every person who decides to go against God's word and will, and live their lives the way they want to rather than what God wants them to. We would be wise to take heed.
Can just anyone be automatically qualified as a laborer in God’s harvest? Or are there requirements for that? There are definitely requirements for a child of God when it comes to doing the work of the Lord! And these are things we must take heed to if we ever want to be used rightly for His work.
We continue to go through our Old Testament survey, and we take a look at mainly David's life, and learn many profound truths about him and so many other things in this book!
When DO things go as planned? We like to have our lives planned out months if not years in advance! But that is not how God works! and if you decide to no go according to God's plan, you will miss out on many blessings. Please tune in!
The story of the children of Israel wanting a king before God wanted them to is a very sad one. And it is a story that we should glean from and take heed lest we make the same mistakes. To refuse God’s authority is to accept the authority of a dictator, which is what the children of Israel found out as a result of their rebellion against their Almighty King.
This is our midweek Bible study, and we are pleased to have Missionary Chris King with us. In this study, we take a look at I John 1. And the whole theme of the chapter is fellowship with God. There is no better gift besides salvation than the gift of fellowship with God for the believer.
David had five loyal men at his disposal, even when it seemed all Israel was against him. And they were simply faithful to do what David had instructed them to do. It's not rocket science for the Christian! We must simply follow every command God gives us.
What are you looking for in this life? Are you looking for that blessed hope? What is “that blessed hope”? It is the coming of our Savior! Listen to this message taken from God’s word on how we MUST be living towards His imminent coming and be ready for it!
We apologize for no podcast in OT survey last week, but this is a continuation of our study in the book of I Samuel. As always, there are so many lessons to be learned from this book, and there are many pictures of Christ in this book, including the extraordinary example of David. You can watch the first lesson about I Samuel on our YouTube channel (Bonners Ferry Baptist Church).
We find that what refreshed David throughout the whole account you will hear of in this message, was his heart of worship toward the LORD! Don’t miss the important truths in this message.
Galatians 6 is the passage for this message. If we are going to "continue" in our walk with Christ, we must learn to "faint not". How do you do this? By spending time with the One Who has all strength and power! Listen to this message, as there is much time spent in His Word dealing this subject.
This is a message preached at the Moyie Springs City Hall in Moyie Springs, ID. It is another clear picture of what the gospel is like. Christ is our Shepherd, and we must put our trust in Him to take us to His fold.
In this message, we find servants who had true devotion to King David. They had their own ideas about how they could serve, but were willing to do whatever their master, the king, told them to do!
As we continue to see different accounts of Gods people continuing, we look at the first church in the book of Acts. They continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine, breaking of bread, prayers, in one accord, etc. Listen to this message to learn how to continue, from God's Word!
The book of Ruth is refreshing and wonderful after you come out of the dark book of Judges and you can see that there were still men who followed God rather than doing what was right in their eyes, like Boaz! We see such a clear picture of Christ throughout this Old Testament book!
We can see that David had complete trust in God when he said this! This was in reference to Absolom, his son that wanted him killed. But David had trust in God to keep him safe, therefore he had no fear of his son! Please listen to these powerful truths pulled out of God’s Word!
Peter had some complications with his trust in Christ, and this would be a revealing and proving time for him! But we find that in the end, Peter realized that his Master always knows best, and he forsook all, and followed Him.
While the Book of Joshua was a book of victory, Judges is a demonstration of how horrific it can be when a nation does "that which is right in their own eyes".
Hushai was a friend to David when David's son was rebelling. Tonight, we will look at how they were friends, and how that applies to our relationship with Jesus Christ.
Do you struggle with living for Christ? Are you distracted with the things of this life? This message will encourage you greatly to focus, not on what is now, but to continue till Christ comes.
