The Forgotten Conservative

If you had any doubts about how closely I followed the news and conventional media outlets, I thought the debate started at 8 pm. So I could have finished a full episode. It's ok with me, because I give an unvarnished point of view. I will address the debate and a couple of "housekeeping" issues in my next podcast.

The LA Dodgers host drag queens dressed as nuns and a Toronto Blue Jays player speaks out about Target, Bud Light, etc. Then he gives the most wussified public apology, yet is still ridiculed amongst calls for his termination. The gay/trans radical movement as we start "Pride" month. Pence and the NJ zeppelin set to announce bids for the White House, while Rino Chris Sununu still rides the fence.

As Rush used to say, the mainstream media looks for any opportunity to use langauge to demonize Republicans. An oft used term is "pounce(d)". Keep an open ear going forward for that term. You're welcome, btw. As DeSantis enters the race for the 2024 nomination, virtually every declared candidate, and some who have yet to announce, are attacking DeSantis "from the left". From voting to increase taxes by over 20%, COVID policies, 'Woke' Disney, to abortion. Trump, obviously is the most vociferous voice, engaged in the low hanging fruit of political spin and rhetoric. I am unequivocally a DeSantis supporter. I point out the fallacy of these attacks and how this is precisely what the Marxist, Progressive kooky Left has done since before I was born. If I could talk to Trump, I would simply say this is why you were elected in 2016. Now, you are engaging in the very same thing you ran against. You are engaging in Fake News!!

Will these two eventually become their party's nominee? I explore the possibility and inject my thoughts on both. Slight correction, I mentioned HB1 of 2019 being "signed into law" in May 2019. I should have stated it was voted on and passed in the House. It never reached Trump's desk.

The two songs I deleted from hour one. I have always loved Kentucky bourbon and Kentucky music. Comedians are funny because they use the truth we live everyday. At least before cancel culture killed honest comedy. Kentucky music is from the heart and almost always speaks to the struggle of human existence. Those people and artists are simple, love their families, proud of their heritage and struggles. You may not have the affinity for the music like I do, but if you are listening to this podcast, you feel the same in your own way. You may be scared or intimidated to speak out or speak up. I believe in God, but I don't witness like I should. So I understand a person feeling a certain way, but don't like confrontation, or being audited, doxed, or ostracized. If so, I am speaking to you. I probably ramble too much in this podcast.  I haven't recorded in three weeks. I flew into Jax a few hours ago and my adrenaline was high. I miss my sweetheart already, and remind you, gentle listener, this podcast is cathartic for me. I went over the allotted time so I edited the beginning. I'm not going to listen to it, I'm just going to publish it.  Download if you're interested, because I may edit or delete it all together.  I can tell you this... it is raw, it is truth, it is me. A man's man, comfortable in my skin and who I am. I will record one more hour tonight. I'll try to be on target and succinct and relevant. For now, this is who I am, this is all of us. Honest, God fearing, decent Americans. Not racists, not deplorables, insurrectionists, extremists, or any other term they throw at us. As Hank Jr said, "I'm one of you". Weak Republicans (RiNO's) get owned by the media. RINOs are as apt to betray Conservatives, as the radical kooks are to oppose Republicans. Yes, God, religion, and the sciences can be combined to explain the beginning of the universe and we should be more open to rely on both to answer questions. Keeping in mind, there may be things beyond our understanding or knowledge we may never achieve. Hence, the importance of faith. More tales or honesty about my evolution to be a better man and how I'm a work in progress, being more dependent on faith and conservatism. Using a train metaphor for the journey of life and decisions and responsibilities, you gentle listener; witness a recognition in real time, of how our perspective gets diluted and we sin or fall from the train.  In a personal observation, I am very proud of that recognition in front of anybody who listens. It may not come across as significant as it is to me, but it is demonstrative that if we are conscious of our decisions and words, we can get better as people, husbands/wives, kids/parents, loving and embracing who we are. How we are flawed. Admitting it, owning it, and not content that it is destiny. Anyway, that moment was the equivalent of Sisyphus, nearly reaching the top of the hill. Maybe a dark example, but the point is, it illustrates my growth and is an example to anyone who hears it, if I can "change my spots", anyone can. Or.... as I grow more sentimental in my older age, I also become more dorky and ate up with my vanity.  7-23-22 2
