Episode #6 with Becky Wright

Episode #6 with Becky Wright

2021-09-2401:28:211

Hey, you guys, just in time for Halloween, we have the wonderful Becky Wright, author of the ground-breaking Mister Stoker and I, and her brand new quietly chilling horror novel, Priory. Becky is a talent to be reckoned with and an incredible human being too. We had a great time talking with her about vampires, historical fiction, quiet horror, ghosts, and busting genre boundaries. That's just the tip of the iceberg, so do give this fantastic, in-depth conversation a listen and then go buy Priory. Buy a copy for your mother and your best friend too. This conversation is perfect for the spooky season we all love and so is Priory. If you haven't read her work yet, now is your chance to unfuck that. And Priory is exactly where you should start!
Hard to imagine what can be said to emphasize what an amazing panel of poets we managed to bring together in this special episode of The Dark Fusion Podcast. Join us and three modern masters of speculative poetry for a discussion on creativity, responsibility, technique, and motivation, among more than a handful of other topics. Soak up the knowledge these powerhouse poets have to share and learn about the amazing works they have in progress in poetry, fiction, film, and elsewhere. This is an absolute must listen episode. Come listen in. You're never alone in the dark.

Steph, Bev, and Shane were enchanted and regaled with information by Daniel Kraus, co-author of The Shape of Water, with Guillermo Del Toro, The Living Dead, posthumously co-written with George A. Romero, and now, the intrepid reporter who revealed the horrifying truth behind the Burger City murders of 2017. This report--The Ghost That Ate Us--is not for the faint of heart, but highly recommended to them anyway. Give it a listen! It's a damn good one.
You guys, what an amazing conversation we had with historian, PHD candidate, and fascinating student of mummified things, Lauren HR Bruce. Everything you never knew or knew you wanted to know about the care and feeding of mummies is in this episode. Come listen to us talk mummies and a mutual love of horror in one of my favorite conversations this year.
Hey all, we love our craft-focused episodes here at Dark Fusion and this is one of the best we've done. Tune into us as we talk to Tim Waggoner about writing, teaching, reading, and the darkness we all love. There is so much to learn from this episode and Tim is just the right teacher for the job.

Sometimes it feels like all you need to hear is a name and you know you're in for goodness. Such is the case here. Beverley, Steph, and Shane sit down with author Chad Lutzke to talk about his new book, Cannibal Creator. And that's one of those names I'm talking about. Whether you're reading his work, or listening to him talk, you're always guaranteed to have a good time, learn something new, and have your face melted off in a flashfire. Well, maybe not that last one, but who knows? Give this a listen and go give Chad's new book a read! Both are fantastic.
Join Shane, Beverley, and Steph as we engage with the wonderful Madeleine Swann, Wonderland Award nominated author and writer of the newly released, surreal dark fiction collection The Sharp End of the Rainbow.
