As a photographer, she expresses the ugly parts of being in a people pleasing industry and how God grows us in our weakest moments. This year has been a tough one for many. This episode is full of impact and positive light shining on the people who deserve it. Many people in our community do things without any public praise or pats on the back. Especially people who help victims of abuse with private situations. It's not something to be displayed because it's someone's life and their confidentiality is very important. This specific episode shines a light on the wonderful Fort Smith Crisis Intervention Center. Our special guest, Penni Burns, is the CEO of the Crisis Intervention Center. Penni explains more about the organization and how amazing it truly is during our conversation. Penni is a wonderful and gifted person who goes above and beyond for our community and Kelsie was honored to meet her. If you or a loved one have encountered abuse, this episode is very healing and informative. Kelsie encourages everyone to listen with an open heart and remember that we all have different struggles in our lives. Sometimes people have been through incredible amounts of pain and trauma that they do not know any different. "Why didn't they just leave?" is an insensitive approach to someone who has been in an abusive relationship. Penni explains this perspective wonderfully and we are thankful she did. We never truly know what someone else is going through. Life is hard and this world is full of very difficult things, let's try to give grace and put the eyes of Jesus on every day. Today's episode is with Kelsie's older sister, Megan! She is Kelsie's only sibling and they are 5 years apart. Their sibling dynamic was a bit of a unique one growing up. When they were younger they used to fight all of the time. Mainly because Kelsie wanted to live life on the edge doing things she shouldn't be doing and Megan was the protective older sister that just wanted the best for Kelsie. They were both imperfect with problems under the surface that needed to be addressed. Fast forward to their lives now and they are in their 30's, married with kids, and running businesses. Kelsie never thought in a million years that her sister would be a close friend and one that she could tell anything to. Kelsie and Megan are both completely different but offer so much as sisters.  This episode includes lots of super duper embarrassing stories about Kelsie that she has learned to embrace over the years. Her past is what has created her into the person she is today. Kelsie loves being able to use her negative experiences in life to help other people going through the same situations. We hope you enjoy this episode!
