Internet Explorer 10 arrived in 2012, alongside the release of Windows 8, sporting a new Metro look and a controversial privacy change. Apple partnered with Irish rock band U2 in 2014 to give the group's new album, Songs of Innocence, to everyone with an Apple account. Internet Explorer's decline was in full swing by the late 2000s, with Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Apple's Safari, and eventually Google Chrome all fighting for a slice of the browser market. Meanwhile, the mobile version of Internet Explorer was in even worse shape than the desktop browser, and the European Union kicked off another round of legal action.
