Corrosive environments that can damage electrical equipment and installations are everywhere. Perhaps some of the most corrosive are areas involving swimming pools, hot tubs, and fountains. With constant exposure to moisture and chemicals in these environments, special consideration needs to be given to the wiring methods involved.
Learn what the National Electrical Code has to say regarding these particular corrosive environments by watching the video as Mike and the team discuss the requirements in NEC section 680.14.
Did you know fire stations now need AFCI protection in their sleeping areas? NEC section 210.12 expands the AFCI requirements for 120V, 15A and 20A branch circuit located in sleeping quarters of fire, police, ambulance, and ranger stations. The common theme for expanding AFCI protection is always related to sleeping areas. Watch the video as Mike and the team break down the AFCI changes in 210.12 and connect the dots to other key Code sections.
During a medical procedure a patient may have a limited ability to react to an electric shock or may be completely unconscious. This risk is addressed in section 517.13 of the NEC which lays out the EGC requirements for patient care spaces in health care facilities. To ensure that the patient is protected, the branch-circuit wiring method must consist of a two-part effective ground-fault current path that is unique to patient care spaces. Join Mike and the team on the video as they discuss the requirements of 517.13 in the NEC.

In the 2023 National Electrical Code a change was made to section 110.22 that makes it clear that in other than one- or two-family dwellings, disconnecting means identification must include the location of circuit source supplying the disconnect. Take the time to listen to the podcast as Mike and the team breakdown this change to the 2023 NEC.
