In this week's episode, we reminisce about our trip to Sardegna, where we had the pleasure of watching Cagliari upset Atalanta. We share details about the game as well as some crazy tales from the trip. Roma's derby victory over Lazio was also a key talking point, as Dybala and Mancini's shithousery stole the headlines. Juventus edged Fiorentina, and boy does Matt love edging. Frattesi won it late for Inter in what would have been a great result for Udinese, while Milan blew Lecce out of the water. Bologna couldn't get it done against Frosinone as the game ended in a goalless stalemate, while Napoli put on a show as they beat Monza fashionably. Genoa came back to beat Hellas Verona, Empoli shocked everyone by putting three past Torino and beating them at the death, while Sassuolo and Salernitana shared the spoils.
It's matchday 30, and we've got a lot to say. Juventus faced Lazio twice. They took the form of Dr. Jekyll in the cup, and Mr. Hyde in the league. Inter claimed another victim in Empoli, while Milan got the job done against a tricky Fiorentina side. Bologna continued to impress as they dominated Salernitana, taking them one step closer to a historic champions league qualification. Atalanta devastated Napoli, Torino bested Monza in a clash between 'the best of the rest', while Lecce held Roma to a surprisingly exciting 0-0 draw. Sassuolo, Hellas Verona and Cagliari won their respective relegation six-pointers, while Frosinone, Lecce and Salernitana continue to struggle. Walter Sabatini went on to confirm the current mood in Salerno.
Juventus' February form has leaked into March, as Colzona inspired Napoli to a victory over the old lady. Referee Di Bello sent three Lazio players off in their wrestling match against Milan. Bologna continue to show that they mean business, as Ferguson sank La Dea for the second time this season. Udinese, Salernitana, Hellas Verona, Lecce, Frosinone, Sassuolo, Empoli and Cagliari all faced off in 4 relegation 6-pointers. What a week and what a life.

This week saw some sensational goals, as Juve dropped points to Hellas Verona, Milan had the opportunity to leapfrog into 2nd place, but lost 4-2 to Monza in a dramatic showdown. Inter continue their winning form after beating last place Salernitana 4-0, & Bologna beat Lazio for the second time this season. Empoli held Fiorentina 1-1 in the Tuscan Derby.
This weekend of action saw Udinese beating Juventus away from home, destroying their claim to fame as the only unbeaten side at home in Italy. De Rossi's Roma put up a noble fight against Inter in a torrential storm but failed to get anything out of the match. Milan bested Napoli at home, ending Napoli's unbeaten streak at San Siro since 2014. Salernitana were outclassed by Empoli in a relegation 6-pointer, resulting in Pippo Inzaghi being replaced by Fabio Liverani. Bologna and Fiorentina had a great time this weekend, as every player and their dog managed to get on the scoresheet.
The Derby D'Italia took place in this Matchday, which just happened to be a battle between 1st & 2nd. Inter showed us that they are simply a cut above their opponents, as they walked away with a convincing 1-0 victory. Milan came back from behind to beat Frosinone 2-3, & now find themselves just 4 points behind Juve. De Rossi's Roma got their 3rd straight win after demolishing Cagliari 4-0, as the shock of the week took place as Lecce defeated Fiorentina 3-2 after 2 goals past the 90th minute to complete their comeback.
5/8 penalties were missed in Matchday 22, with Giroud, Theo Hernandez, Duda, Kristovic & Nico Gonzalez the culprits. Juve were held by Nicola's Empoli after an early Milik red card, as Inter shoot back up to 1st after defeating Fiorentina, despite their game in hand.
This was a brief matchday, as Inter, Lazio, Napoli & Fiorentina's fixtures were all rescheduled due to their Supercoppa duties in Saudi Arabia, which saw Inter lifting the trophy after beating Napoli in the final. Due to this, Juventus' victory propelled them to first place, & Milan edge closer to the top 2 after a great comeback vs Udinese. Zurkowski stole the show this weekend, as he scored the perfect hattrick in a 3-0 victory for Empoli over Monza, & De Rossi's Roma were off to a good start, despite almost fumbling their lead to Hellas.
Last month, we had the pleasure of sitting down with former Lazio, Salernitana, Bari, and Latina football player, Joseph Minala. Minala gained global recognition at the age of 17 after his age was publicly disputed by multiple parties. The Cameroonian is currently playing for Sliema Wanderers in Malta.
This Matchday saw the end of Mourinho's time at Roma, following yet another disappointing result, this time to Milan. Empoli also parted ways with their manager Andreazzoli, bringing in Davide Nicola, their third of the season. Inter & Atalanta put 5 past Monza & Frosinone respectively, whilst Juve remain close to Inter after beating Sassuolo 3-0. Verona emerged victorious in a misty relegation 6 pointer against Empoli, earning Djuric his first call-up to Serie A Spotlight's episode art.

With 2023 coming to an end, the final Matchday of the year did a great job in stirring the pot ahead of 2024. Juve have closed the gap with 1st placed Inter to just 2 points, whilst Fiorentina have climbed their way to 4th place after Bologna's shocking 3-0 loss to Udinese. The relegation battle has intensified, after Salernitana beat Verona 0-1.
The Derby Del Sole stole the headlines in Matchday 17, with Roma winning 2-0 in classic Mourinho fashion, forcing 2 red cards from their opponents. In other news, Inter & Juve both managed victories at the top of the table, whilst Milan were held 2-2 in Salerno, against rock bottom Salernitana. Bologna & Fiorentina did well to defeat Atalanta & Monza respectively, keeping their European aspirations alive.
