Sean Cain, PhD, is a world-leading researcher in the field of circadian rhythms and light sensitivity. His current research includes deep circadian phenotyping of large cohorts, the role of real-world light exposure in driving circadian amplitude, and the application of circadian science to areas such as depression, sleep disorders, and mental health. He has authored several key large-scale studies demonstrating the unparalleled effects of bright days and dark nights on human health. This work has contributed significantly to the ever-growing body of work demonstrating the dangers of artificial light at night and insufficient sunlight during the day. Sean has also developed the MiEye light sensor device for tracking daily light exposure and circadian rhythms for both research and individual uses. Please consider subscribing to my Substack where I share my detailed thoughts and insights on my podcast topics and beyond. Max Gulhane, MD, is an Australian medical doctor and educator specialising in metabolic health. He is a central figure in the movement to decentralise medicine and empower individuals through education and preventative medicine. Max’s expertise extends far beyond the bounds of conventional medicine, incorporating an evolutionary lens on health to emphasise the critical importance of natural light, circadian principles and ancestrally-consistent dietary patterns. His podcast, “The Regenerative Health Podcast” explores a foundational approach to health, featuring incredible conversations with world-renowned experts. Max is currently setting up a bespoke clinic in Byron Bay where he hopes to integrate diet, lifestyle and environmental changes to help people get control of their health. Please consider subscribing to my Substack where I share my detailed thoughts and insights on my podcast topics and beyond. Denis Noble is a world-renowned British biologist most well known for his contributions to systems biology. During his time as a Professor of Cardiovascular Physiology and Emeritus Professor of Computational Physiology at Oxford, Denis pioneered the use of novel, nonlinear models of physiology that see the phenomena of emergence as fundamental, rather than a mere curiosity. He has been an outspoken critic of the gene-centric approach to health and disease that has remained orthodoxy since the discovery of the double helix by Watson and Crick in the 1950s.With complex, living systems endowed with the capacity of dynamic self-organisation, Noble argues that genes cannot cause disease, as they are embedded within a set of interactions between the organism and its environment; relationships that contextualise the transcription of genes. Rather than viewing genes as determinants of outcomes, they are merely part of a chain of interactions where information flows from the environment to the highly flexible organism. Please consider subscribing to my Substack where I share my detailed thoughts and insights on my podcast topics and beyond. Michal Cifra, PhD, is a leading researcher in the fields of bioelectromagnetics and biophysics and head of the Bioelectrodynamics team at the Institute of Photonics and Electronics at the Czech Academy of Sciences. His research interests include biophotons, microtubules, non-chemical communication and water. He is co-editor of the 2015 collaborative work, Fields of the Cell — a multidisciplinary exploration into the various field-phenomena of life and their implications for research and diagnostics. Michal continues to make contributions to the collective understanding of ‘coherence’ within complex systems and how this could relate to disease states. Please consider subscribing to my Substack where I share my detailed thoughts and insights on my podcast topics and beyond. Nikko Kennedy is a practicing doula and Director of Research at the Institute of Applied Quantum Biology. She also writes a popular Substack under the name, ‘Brighter Days, Darker Nights’, where she shares invaluable information on circadian rhythms, pregnancy issues and homebirthing. Nikko has been at the forefront of a movement investigating the safety of hospital environments for birthing. As evidence accumulates demonstrating the detrimental effects of hospital lighting, EMF and some standard practices, practitioners like Nikko have reduced the need for unnecessary interventions through safe homebirthing practices. Please consider subscribing to my Substack where I share my detailed thoughts and insights on my podcast topics and beyond.
