In this episode of Serial Streamers Jami and Jessi discuss the Netflix documentary, “The Perfect Neighbor.” This disturbing documentary highlights the case of Ajika Owens, who was gunned down by her neighbor Susan Lorincz, through the lens of real life video footage from police body cams and interrogation room video cameras. Lorincz was a known “Karen” in the neighborhood, often calling police to report children playing near her home and causing what she perceived as a disturbance. It all came to a boiling point when Lorincz retrieved her gun and shot Ajike through the front door of her (Lorincz’s home). Jami and Jessi don’t hold back on their opinions of Lorincz and describe how this documentary was one of the most difficult for them to watch.

It’s another messy masterpiece on Say Yes to the Mess! Jami and Jessi are back to break down the Housewives multiverse, RHOC in Amsterdam, RHOSLC in fart-fueled chaos, and one cranky husband who’s clearly allergic to joy, but apparently not cherries! Jami’s also spiraling into a new obsession called McBee Dynasty, and she’s dragging Jessi, and you, right along for the ride. Expect hot takes, sass bombs, and maybe a few opinions they’ll regret later. Probably.

On Halloween night 2004, roommates Adriane Insogna, Leslie Mazzara and Lauren Meanza handed out candy to trick-or-treaters. The three women settled in for bed around 10:30 PM anticipating a typical start to their work week the next morning. Lauren was awoken out of a deep sleep at 2:00 a.m. when her dog started barking. Moments later, she heard a blood-curdling scream coming from upstairs. She tried to call for help but there was no dial tone. Lauren managed to get outside of the house and hide in a row of bushes as she heard the sound of someone scampering away from the home and into the darkness. Lauren went back inside to find her two friends, Adriane and Leslie, lying unresponsive in pools of blood. Investigators got to work trying to find the person who broke into the home at 2631 Dorset Street in the middle of the night and murdered two women, but they set out on the wrong track from the onset. Adriane and Leslie’s killer walked among them for over a year undiscovered. When authorities finally did uncover the killer’s identity, they learned his motive was connected to a love interest …but not one involving either of his victims. Although the timing of the grisly crimes was uncanny, the double-homicide had nothing to do with Halloween.

On March 20, 2005, Missouri State Highway Patrol Sergeant Dewayne Graham Jr. had just finished a shift when he was fatally gunned down in his own driveway. When a suspect was arrested days later, there was little doubt that investigators had caught the sergeant’s cold-blooded killer. But a question rang out that still resonates to this day: should there have been doubt? Or was it easier for investigators to craft their own narrative and fill in the details later?

Four months have passed since a jury acquitted Karen Read for the murder of Boston police officer John O’Keefe. Some involved in the three-year saga have seen their reputations permanently tarnished. Others are riding the case’s notoriety to newfound fame and monetary rewards. The obvious question remains: if Karen Read didn’t kill John O’Keefe, who did? Scrutiny has swung from the accused to the accusers: the Canton Police Department, Massachusetts State Police and Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office. As for Karen, there’s no indication she plans to leave the spotlight. A movie is in the works. So is a tell-all book. Then again, so is a civil trial in which she stands to lose tens of thousands in future proceeds. For John’s loved ones and many others, the drama is far from over—it’s just entered a new, equally contentious chapter.

For decades, opinions have been divided regarding capital punishment. No matter which side of the issue you’re on, one question tends to haunt even the most opinionated: What if someone slated for execution is factually innocent? Can we ever be certain the right person is being put to death? In November 2000, 27-year-old James Mosqueda and his fiancee, 22-year-old Amy Kitchen, were gunned down in their upscale north Dallas home. When a suspect was arrested, it seemed like an open-and-shut case. But was it really as straightforward as it seemed on the surface? Or is it possible the couple’s killer continues to evade justice?

On July 23rd, 2025, Bryan Kohberger was about to be sentenced to life behind bars for the murder of four University of Idaho college students. The November 2022 slayings of Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Kaylee Goncalves, and Maddie Mogen shocked the entire nation. The four friends had crashed after a night of partying when Kohberger, a graduate student at nearby Washington State University, snuck into their off-campus home through an unlocked sliding-glass door and killed them all with a large knife. Prosecutors had cut a deal with the devil. After months of asserting his innocence, Kohberger, 30, agreed to plead guilty to four counts of murder and one count of burglary, and to waive all rights to any appeal. In return, he’d avoid the gas chamber. For some, particularly the loved ones of 21-year-old Kaylee Goncalves, it was a bitter pill to swallow. Kohberger, they believed, deserved to die for his crimes. Following the initial shock of the news, the remaining victims’ families said they supported the deal. From their viewpoint, Kohberger would spend the rest of his life in prison and they wouldn’t have to spend the rest of theirs attending courtroom hearings listening to lawyers squabble over technicalities.
Before authorities sent Kohberger on a one-way trip to the Idaho Maximum Security Institution, family members of Ethan, Xana, Kaylee, and Maddie had one opportunity to face him at sentencing. It was an opportunity they did not take lightly, resulting in one of the most unforgettable and jaw-dropping courtroom scenes in recent memory.

31:49 - that's not a 360°, that's a 180° -- they just u-turned around and were going back in the direction from whence they came... unless they did a 540° (meaning they did the 360°, then continued to go another 180° around). 🤔
way too many commercials. also, they're way too long!
omg. what an idiot
Webster is not a pit stop town. it's the home of Nasa Space Center, and it has a very large community of aerospace related jobs and employees in addition to a robust medical center and hospitality locations. please get your research right before you make statements because erroneous statements could draw the irritation and ire of those of us that live in and near these areas. and you lose credibility.
“Tie one on” means “get drunk”! I am a Boomer from the East Coast.

Always a good podcast, but dang, there are sooo many commercials. Like 50% commercials. Ugh.
Don't know how I feel about dude. He's very Robert Stackish. His voice makes it sound creepier for some reason.
episode 102 and 103 don't play and I don't know why.
yea can't do that voice. zero inflection or emotion. sounds like a computer reading, with very little observation of punctuation. hard to tell sometimes where one sentence ends and the next begins.
I pray to the prison gods that that man that did that to that boy got fu$k*d up his a$$ everyday that he is there in prison I wouldn't lose no sleep if he got shanked
This was a terribly good one.
Would the mother of a 2year old child have a one-night-stand when her child was a) sleeping next door and b) still being breastfed and might wake up several times per night, if only to be given the breast for comfort, for example ? I seriously doubt that.
SOooooooo many ads!! Not just several ad breaks, but each break has a dozen ads each! #freepodprobs
These parents are terrible. The entire situation is terrible but these parents created this horror show.
Very boring podcast. Tried listening but could never get into her storytelling. Very basic true crime podcast not going to learn anything new or enlightening about these cases unfortunately.
