It's just Robbo and Davo in studio, sipping whisky, chatting about the Dees. Next week we have guests and muso's in.
Robbo and Davo review the NT. Chat candidly about the game against Freo, the reaction from supporters, they dive into some interesting stats and then focus on the Pies.
Robbo and Davo catch up with David Neitz, Travis Johnstone, and Jan Daniher join the pod for a quick chat before we got pelted with rain.
Robbo and Davo reflect on the season to date, the win against the cats, a round of Yeah Na's ... should all players get the premiership medal or just those that play on the day? And Brett Wood, super talented musician, joins the boys to play some of his original tracks. If you do nothing else, listen to that!
Robbo and Davo reflect on the season, share their top 5 Yeah Na's, but we really only got into 3 because the conversation GOT DEEP FAST. Thanks to those that join us live each week, share our little podcast so we can afford to keep getting Whisky from the great folks at Nonesuch Distillery. Why is Robbo sending photos of his .....
Robbo and Davo host Guy Bluey McKenna, AFL half of fame, West Coast champion, Former Gold Coast Coach. The guys chat about his coaching career, the challenges of managing a VERY young team and talent.
Former Melbourne Captain Brad Green joins the podcast to chat to Robbo and Davo about his position on the board, his days playing with Robbo at the Dees, coaching at Carlton, and his days post footy. Kicking off with 40 blocks picking up bags of ice because the ice machine broke, is just another one of those stories that only past players can recall and dig up. Would never happen today. We touch on the tragic passing of his wife, but most importantly what it took to remain positive, and to father his children. Such a fantastic person, this conversation is far too short, and we highly recommend you tune in and share it with friends.
Russell Robertson and David Neitz host a special pre-game podcast episode live from Brewmanity. The boys reflect on the season so far, tell tales of seasons past, and forecast the future. A special night for the Dees, playing Port in Adelaide, and a special night for the podcast as we hit our first live from the pub. Typically unscripted, it's the only podcast with live fan engagement. Thanks to our only sponsor Nonesuch, the finest Tasmanian Whisky (and gin!).
Stephen Tingay joins Robbo and Dave to discuss his career, life before, during and after football. The importance of physical and mental wellbeing, and some classic stories.
Superb episode this week as we have a chat to the head recruiter at the Demons Jason Taylor. Really insightful stuff understanding his role, the need to really get to know the kids, data vs personality vs natural talent. As usual Robbo and Davo take a spin around Melbourne, with Pink concerts, a Jeff White look back and the case of the missing coffee beans. Around the grounds leaves everyone guessing. Enjoy.
Well it's the twilight zone, and we aren't sure if this is round 1 or round zero. Russell Robertson, former AFL great, and Dave Anderson, pull together our thoughts on all things Meloburne. Round zero, took us by surprise, so we whipped up a little session: 1) What did you do last summer? 2) The Dee's fortunes as we look ahead3) The bump is dead 4) Around the grounds as we forecast the opening road. 5) Local songwriter, and well cough, producer Dave Anderson sings with Robbo an original.
This week Russell Robertson is joined by Brock McLean the former Demon and Carlton player. The socials were lit up this week, talking about Brock's time at the Dees. There are always two sides to the story, and this is what this podcast is for. Hear first hand the challenges Brock and the team had to go through, during a difficult period for the Dees, and get a better understanding of what it really felt like playing for the club.
David Neitz, the longest serving Melbourne Demons captain, first player to play 300 games, and regarded by some, including us, to be the greatest player out of Tasmania, joins his old mate Russell Robertson to talk about their time playing together, Robbo's theories on possibly been able to kick a 100 goal season if Neita wasn't kicking them, and of course how the Dees are going this year. Enjoy.
Gavin Wanganeen joins Russell Robertson on Robbo Live. Wanganeen is a former AFL superstar who played for the Essendon Football Club and Port Adelaide Football Club. The first indigenous player to win the Brownlow medal, dual premiership player and AFL Hall of Famer. This is a fantastic conversation about his current passions, his coffee business and of course his football career. What a legend.
This week we chat about the Van Rooyen suspension and come up with ingenius ways for the MFC to protest, Campbell Brown joins us from a house boat somewhere on the Murray, and Ando orders a bootleg Robbo T-shirt in his own name. Join us each week like on YouTube or FB, search for Robbo Live and join the chat.
We reflect on the week that was, as well as get ex Sun and Saint, Maverick Weller into a stream, to get his take on the match, Tasmania in the AFL and maybe even a bit about that tackle.
Glen Archer, the North Melbourne Champion, and 'Shinboner' of the Century joins Russell Robertson to talk about his career, his starting salary and turning up to the MCG in work gear, the fear of losing and the pressure of playing.
Bluey McKenna, former West Coast Eagles Champion, Dual Premiership Player, Multiple All Australian, and Hall of Famer joins the Robbo Live desk. Bluey reflects on 'that hit' from Plugga Lockett, grand final wins, playing alongside Woosha, plus many more stories. A great interview, well worth a stream and share.
First episode of the season, yep 2 games late, and Robbo is back at the desk chatting to Tadhg Kennelly about being a tough defender, vs a flightly forward, the trouble with playing on Ben Cousins, and why the Swans seem to be so resilient year in and year out. Hope you enjoy this episode and see you back at the desk, live, at 6pm, for another chat with a Demon and Eagles for Round 4.
