Faith Beyond The Field

Luke McCown came to know the Lord when he was 7, but it wasn't until High School where he fully understood what that journey entailed. He's a father of 6, and his wife Katy is a writer for Proverbs 31 Ministries and president of She Laughs Ministries. Their journey together has seen them move all over from Luke's football career, and they experienced a true challenge with their son Elijah as an infant. Luke talks at length about how he stays rooted in Christ while wearing so many hats, and how his time with the New Orleans Saints was his favorite because of some of the amazing things they did off the field. Luke also talks about the state of the church, and the work he's doing with Idols Aside Ministries.

Jon Kitna played 16 years in the NFL with several teams. He never grew up as a person who was fed spiritually, as his family never had the Gospel in their home. One day in the college setting, he had something drastic happen that made him turn to God and give his life to Jesus. Eric Boles, who played for the Jets, told him about Jesus and helped disciple Jon and pour into him. He's never looked back since.

If you're a Saints fan, you know who Chris Reis is. He's the player who recovered the ball in the famous 'Ambush' play, which lives on in Super Bowl history and helped New Orleans get their first ring. Reis was never supposed to be the guy, but it was a destiny that God had for him to serve a greater purpose and calling. Reis is now a Pastor at Our Savior's Church in Lafayette, and his life journey and story is one that is truly all God.

New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis has an incredible story of how he came to faith, and he becomes the first guest to appear on Faith Beyond The Field. We talk about Demario's life and how he walks with God as a loving husband and father of five. What does a relationship with Jesus look like when you're playing football? How do you handle a major trial with a young child involved? All of that and more inside this week's episode.

It's been too long since the last episode of FBTF. Training camp was pretty nuts, but the main issue was not being intentional here. This season of life has been challenging, especially with the growth of Faith Beyond The Field. Personally, it's been a struggle in my walk. However, let's talk about it and what the past couple of months has been like.
