The episode you guys have all been waiting for!!! To finish off this forsaken series, Sofia wraps up the show by interviewing her Flat Footed Psychic friend, Jean Bootan (IG: @jeanbootan). We actually do not go into details as to why or how she is psychic, but actually delve into the topic of Yellow Fever against white supremacy in America. This is the second installment of Yellow Fever discourse on this account, what fun!
Just finished the first year of college and who else to celebrate this with no other than Danielle Dao (IG: @d4anielledao )! We do not know each other that well, but well enough to discuss insane opinions, share childhood crushes (cartoons included), and talk about whatever (tbh the memory loss is kicking in and I don't remember what we talked about in full detail even though I edited the episode)!!! Follow Brain Porridge on IG @brainporrdige and the host, Sofia @sofiayvargas  Don't expect anything from this podcast, keep expectations LOW! ....so until next episode.....
Episode 8 is here! Renne and Sofia come back from a great day at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures where they review the Hayao Miyazaki exhibit and more! Yellow Fever is a hot topic now with the rising popularity of Asian media in Western society. It is definitely something Asian American girls/women struggle with and this episode focuses on Sofia and Renne's experience with this phenomenon.  **This podcast episode does cover a more serious topic, but since it was discussed out of spontaneity; there was minimal research. Everything talked about was out of our own memory so do not take this information as a resource, rather a conversation to think from.  Follow Brain Porridge on IG (@brainporridge)
Brain Porridge EPISODE 7 !! 🧠🎙  First-time guest, Andrea Manreza, talks first year college experience, learning to drive, and healing the inner child.  Listen to Brain Porridge, hostes by Sofia Vargas, on all podcast streaming platforms.  💌
Everyone knows EJ…or they will by the end of this podcast. After having known EJ Andrade (@ej.andrade) for a little less than a decade, it is safe to assume he has got a lot of experiences that overlap the shared Vargas extravaganza. Stay tuned for exposing stories and takes on what we mean to each other LOL!
Everyone has that best friend in high school and for Sofia that was Justine. Hear our take on our favorite parts of our past four years together including Mr. Lam, LMU, and especially each other's company--it's comforting to know that someone has your back. Not the mention...the not so good parts of it....what a sinister school....Follow @brainporridge and @dinonaraz (Justine Dinglas) on IG!
Sofia and her big brother (Zach) walk through the Washington Arboretum trying to remember what they did for the past 4 days...memory loss is real :/ And for the record, we really are twins! follow him on IG @zachvgt
Let’s meet my dear friend, Renne Takahashi! Episode three is the first of many casual conversations where Sofia dives deep into the foundations of growing up tomboyish, hating high school, and hoping the future is better. As we go onto the next chapter of our lives (college....I dread it) Renne and I spill everything we are looking forward to and everything we are thankful for experiencing as fellow 2003 Gen Z'ers. "Remember Me" (2010) starring Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin is a romance drama with a CRAZY plot twist at the end...which I (Sofia Vargas) get to surprise Amanda with! Within the episode, Amanda and I talk about our own experiences with how easily life can change its trajectory in relation to the pandemic and past disasters.
Finally starting the first episode of "Brain Porridge" with no other than AMANDA ALCALA, a fellow movie lover! Tune in to hear what we have to say about the movie "10 Things I Hate About You" and our absolute brain rot. Follow the podcast on Instagram @brainporridge and the host @sofiayvargas.
