Oftentimes, we don't think of the needs for our especially-gifted autistic citizens. The magnified sounds, sights, sensory-challenging events. Many parents of autistic children don't even attempt to travel due to these sensory challenges. Conversely, hospitality partners aren't always trained how to best accommodate in a way that is helpful, patient and knowledgeable.
In my chat with Leslie Walker from United Cerebral Palsy, we will discuss the powerful initiative 'Tourism ALL-A-Bama' focused on bridging-the-gap and making travel more accessible to our gifted citizens. The state-wide program 'Tourism ALL-A-Bama' focuses on increasing awareness, accessibility, inclusion and FUN for every citizen.
